Paradise Lost by Abel Sephaos
Waking up alone in a world that didn't know his name or past, Akira Kurusu didn't want to keep going after his steep fall from grace. Forgotten, defeated and without either comrades or confidants, the former Joker must come to grips with his failures while establishing himself once more. Getting drawn into the supernatural again, though? Count him out, he has a business to run.
Crossover - Persona Series & RWBY - Rated: M - English - Drama/Humor - Chapters: 23 - Words: 124,609 - Reviews: 1054 - Favs: 1,240 - Follows: 1,455 - Updated: Sep 5 - Published: Jan 18 - Akira K./Ren A.

Just a warning for anyone who hasn't completed P5 yet this contains late game spoilers
Basically when the Grail wipes them from humanities cognition instead of appearing in The Velvet Room they are erased from existence and Akira wakes up in an alley in Vale.

It is a good story that I am happy to see updating again.

A Road Less Travelled
A Fire Emblem Echoes Fanfic

Summary: Alm leaves Ram to lead the Deliverance, leaving Faye behind. When Celica shows up unexpectedly on the doorstep of their sleepy village, Faye takes a chance and decides to travel with the girl she remembers from so many years ago. What will she learn about Valentia, the gods above them, and most importantly, herself?

My review: After playing Fire Emblem Echoes for a kick I went searching and found this one. It focuses on one of the lesser developed characters in a magnificent way, showing that she had real problems that the war exacerbated and that there was a person worth following inside. By the time I was done, I was cheering. The earlier set-ups paid off in the end, the relationships, the drama. It's all glorious. This... this is the type of fic I look for when it comes to side-characters. It's a masterpiece. 10/10 would read again.

FYI, Lamora’s chosen to discontinue and remove The Game of Champions from FF.net.

On the bright side, I’m currently doing a full write up to summarize the ending, as well as shed more light on why I stopped writing it. Also I plan to summarize the spin off one shot ideas I obviously never got around to.
That’ll get posted in WbA in the future.

Lamora posted this yesterday on darklordpotter

In the deepest night, there is the Dark Hour. It began ten years ago; now, the players have assembled according to the Arcana, and with the arrival of Port Island's prodigal son, it will soon end. They have been given one year... Novelization of Persona 3
An amazing Minato/Mitsuru story with bits of P4, Devil Summoner, Nasuverse, and Haruhi Suzumiya (it all makes sense). It's at 657000 words and 7.5 years old, that being said it just updated and it only has 2 chapters left.

Fallout: Rise of the Lone Wanderer
This is, in my opinion, the best Fallout fic out there even with a few typos. It's a novelization of Fallout 3 that takes massive liberties with the story and has a sequel that is set in New Vegas that is still being worked on. I would recommend this for anyone who likes Fallout.

I need something to read. Book marking this on my phone. Hope it's accessible for someone who's a new-comer to the fallout universe?

It should be. It follows Fallout 3's story, which was a starting point for a lot of gamers.

Dragon Age Inquisition Banter: Hero of Ferelden by Harnette
Summary: Snapshots of banter dialogue featuring the Hero of Fereldan (Elf Mage Origin) getting to know the members of the Inquisition.
Review: This fic gives a look at what things might have looked like if the Hero of Fereldan was a party member of the Inquisition. Each chapter is dedicated to different interactions to a different party member. Some chapters are funny, others serious. All in all, this was a fun fic. In fact, I liked this fic enough that I was inspired to write a similar fic.

The Swallow and The Dragon by Flameraiser
Summary: Harry finds a dying ashen haired girl in his backyard being attacked by men in skeleton armor. He obviously swoops in and kills them, saving the girl before taking her to his home to heal her. He didn't know the far reaching consequences this would have on him personally.
Review: A Harry Potter/The Witcher Franchise Crossover. I suppose technically this one could have been put in the books section, but since the majority of people are more familiar with The Witcher games and/or the Netflix series, than the books, I figured here would do. Geralt/Yennefer, Harry/Ciri. There is some Timey-whimey hijinks at play in this fic. When Ciri first arrives on Harry's world after the events of this 5th Year, it's well before she rescues Geralt and Yennefer from the Wild Hunt, kick starting the events of the first Witcher game. However, when Harry arrives on Ciri's world, it's well before she is even born. Remembering her stories of her childhood, Harry maintains a minimum presence in Ciri's world, sporadically interacting with Geralt, Triss, Yennefer and even Dandelion throughout the years, but purposely avoiding Ciri. Once she leaves, he starts making waves, preparing for the day she returns, which takes place during the events of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. All in all, I find this one to be a good read, as Harry tries to make Ciri's world a better place while simultaneously trying to ensure that she survives her destiny.

I second this. I've been following it from chapter one and I'm liking the pacing that the writer has. Good rec!

I've been highly amused by the fact that Ciri wants a stuffed unicorn and Harry being clueless as to why she wants it. Him going to Geralt (who seemed as if he wanted to stab Harry) and Yen (who laughed her ass off, but refused to spoil the surprise) to try and find out why she wanted one was priceless.

And the Meek Shall Inherit the Galaxy by Full Paragon
Summary: Due to a shift in turian and quarian patrols, first contact with humanity is friendly; Rael'Zorah and Hannah Shepard become friends, as do their species. But the galaxy is not a safe place and schisms develope when the Council Steps in. As humanity finds new allies amongst the stars, something darker stirs. The Meek must beware, for it is almost Harvest time.
Review: Because of the way humanity and the quarians meet, they easily become fast friends. A bond that is only strengthened as as result of the 2nd Contact War when the turians decide to flex their muscle because the "suit rats" "were trying to help" "the primative" open up a Mass Relay. Despite having newer and better tech than the combined human and quarian fleets, the turians actually lose the 2nd Contact War. Because of asari arrogance, not to mention the way the Council has treated the quarians and the krogan, humanity opts not to join the Citadel species, making the Human/Quarian alliance it's own seperate government. Something the Citadel species scoff at, especially when Earth starts giving aid to the Krogan, right up until they cure the Genophage. The galaxy then ends up in a cold war with the asari-salarians-turians on one side and humans-quarians-krogan on the other. As a result of the increased militarization, a number of changes happen. Jak grows up honorary krogan, Zaeed never leaves the Alliance to found the Blue Suns, Garrus's father joins the Spectres instead of C-Sec, Matriarch Aethyta becomes the Asari Councilor and both sides start creating their own Mass Relays. In my opinion, this is the absolute best "Want for a Nail" Mass Effect fic, where we can look and see and what things are better and what things are worse than in canon. This fic will make you smile and frown because we know what could have been in many, many cases throughout the story.

Cat's Cradle

A 'prequel' to 999, using the antagonists of the game.

Genjou (Ace), the 9th Man, and Mr. X all get kidnapped as teenagers and thrown into a Nonary Game that helps to form their future. It's particularly meaty, at over 80k words, and I enjoyed it.

Pokedex

Looks like this was posted once 8 years ago, but this is significantly further in now. It's basically a take on Pokedex entries where some of them are expanded folklore and mythologies, some are in-game meta (like Rattata), and probably too many of them are "This Pokemon is violent and killed lots of humans in the past". I particularly like Smeargle's (235)

I binge-read this over the past day or two. Another few chapters to finish - but the main event appears to be over. It's surprising how little the review count on that fic is. Thanks for pointing it out. A nice read!

Yeah :) I left a review there at the end, but in retrospect I feel like I should probably have left a few more throughout. It's not truly surprising, though. 999 is already a relatively niche game, and it uses three characters who only have a presence in one game, only one of which who had lines for more than one scene.

So I've been reading the Forewarned is Forearmed series. It's an AU where at age 11 Akira Kurusu arrives in Inaba. I want to give a proper description for it, but I also don't want to spoil anything because it's worth going into blind. I will also say that actually included The fighting game and even the first Persona Q.

So yeah I'm fully caught up on all of that now and I also have to recommend it. Go read it people.
It's good.

After finishing the base P5 content in P5R, I went to looking for some P5 and Death Note stuff, since there's some really strong Death Note parallels in P5.

Warning Letter

Persona 5 + Death Note crossover

Shortly after stealing Madarame's heart, the Phantom Thieves receive a request from Sayu Yagami that leads them into the Palace of perhaps their greatest target yet.
Contrary to the summary, however, the Phantom Thieves don't take too long to fight Light Yagami, and he eventually joins the PT. Currently incomplete.

This is my new go to "What-If" example for the proper way to write one.
The Wheels of Fate by TheWanderingAvarian
Summary

It's the middle of spring in the year 2016. Akira Kurusu is a normal high-school student, living a normal high-school life. Sort of. Yes, he has magical powers he can use to destroy peoples' souls—no, he doesn't think that's a problem. And it isn't. Or at least it wasn't.
Not until now.
***
An AU in which Akira's the one who gets his powers first.

Okay, so what changes? Is Akira the bad guy now? Is he no longer the Wild Card? Does Akira have Robin Hood and Loki?

Oni_Rinku

Knower of Stuff
It's set up where Akira is still the Wild Card but he unlocks his persona two years ahead of when he normally would. To counter balance this, Akechi doesn't unlock his until the Kamoshida arc.
Akira is kinda the villain, but at the same time he isn't.
Akira's and Akechi's personalities are still the same as they were in the game, but this is seeing how this change could possibly effect the overarching narrative.

I'm On Fire Again, Aren't I? Seems like it's got some promise. A fusion, I think, of P5 and Reborn. At the very least, I do like how this Joker is a bit more quick-witted, even if it doesn't really change much overall. Also that he snagged a Pixie during the initial infiltration.
