Isn't that a given though? As far as I was aware, there's no form of DRM that doesn't negatively impact the performance of a game.
There isn't. It's just rare that we get a direct head-to-head difference that is really undeniable.

Anyways...

Valve announces portable Steam Deck, which is a Switch-like portable that will run Steam games on SteamOS. Most basic model starts at $399, up to $649.

Are there any exclusives announced for the Steam Deck? I find it hard to take Valve seriously, as a hardware vendor. As in; it feels like they lauch and drop hardware projects the way google does software things = keep "launching" things and take them offline after some time has passed.

Nope. It's basically a PC compressed into a portable with a really nice screen, that can play Steam games.

Apparently, the handheld SteamOS is still having compatibility issues such that it can't play a lot of Steam's most popular games like PUBG or Destiny 2.

This video does a nice little overview of the Steam Deck.

Welp, I've preordered the 256GB version. Gonna use a large bit of my 'new laptop' fund, but it may just be worth it. I'm kinda excited.

Well looks like we're getting a proper localization of SRW 30 on Steam.

State of California bringing a lawsuit against Activision-Blizzard

From the sounds of it, the state did a 2-year investigation into a lot of complaints about toxic work culture and labour violations at AB. In the process, they gave AB several chances to better their work practices, which they barely did. Some vile stuff in there.

Activision-Blizzard likely has more than enough money to drag this out until California just gives up.

With Viacom's recent South Park megadeal, supposedly there is a new South Park game being produced. If true, I would assume a third game to cap off Stick of Truth/Fractured But Whole. Especially since FBW had a sequel hook.

I for one would love New Kid and Butters teaming up and becoming the villains in a third game.

It is the Year 2031. Bethesda is re-re-re-re-re-re-re-releasing Skyrim for the PS6 and XBox XYZ under the 20th Anniversary Edition label. Fans scream for an ES VI as they buy Skyrim for the nth time.

In that vein... I'm definitely still eagerly awaiting for the upcoming 2076 Playstation IX with internalized harmonized surround sound pumped into the brain and playable reaction times being instantaeous by having it be playable with the direct control of the mind.

This is because of a old Sony commerical they put out with the intro of the Playstation II. Remember... truth in advertizing... It is also, about the only form of game console I'd be able to play still at that age... :)

Slightly revised PS5 models are now being sold

The main change is that it's lighter, and more easy to adjust the base stand. I like how the article states the new model is 'very slightly lighter', then goes on to say 0.6lbs lighter. Bitch, ~300g is not 'very slightly lighter' unless you're talking something that weighs 10s of kilograms to begin with in the first place.

The developer kit is still better looking in my opinion.

I actually hope we get a slim version by next year, anyways. I've been spoiled by my Switch into having smaller consoles. Don't think it's too likely though when they're struggling to keep up with production on the current models, though

I'm interested in a PS5 slim version too ... but the whole "must connect to the internet at least once" has me hesitant. For now, just sitting this one (not like I have the funds for a new console anyway...)
