It certainly is. Probably be a while before I watch Season 2.

Tagging @MnemoD since I believe you watched this too?

I finished off that Daily Life of an immortal series... It was ok, I guess... it is a series you can't take serious... the end sort of jumped shark though, as it did not end remotely as expected, it sort of came out of no where.

I really like the Realist Hero, which came out with Ep 4 late saturday... Hulu though is still for me glitching a bit on it... I have to use the search to find it, and it does not want to stay in the Mys stuff list at all.. 4th episode was not as good as first three eps...

Watched Gabriel DropOut. All 12 episodes, plus the 2 OVAs.

If I had to compare it...I'd say it's kind of like Lucky Star in having four main girls in a mostly slice-of-life high school comedy. GO moves a little more quickly with plot development and has a whole angels-and-demons background setting, and the actual characters are more enjoyable in general. Even though the show is named after a character, Gabriel doesn't get a majority of the time. Probably...30-35% of the time, and the other three get 65-70%? Also, this show is just chalkful of silly bits that have probably hit meme status.

I was not expecting that 2nd OVA, however. Oof. What a hit to the feels.

If I were to write a fic...probably a short oneshot of Gab and Vignette moving in together to an apartment to save on rent costs.

Finished A Certain Scientific Rail gun T, Laidback Camp season two, and I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level.

Railgun T was fun, as always, really enjoyed the various mysteries abounding Academy City being explored. Shokuho Misaki was an added surprise, albeit a pleasant one.

Laidback Camp s2 was as enjoyable as the first season. Liked seeing the girls do more solo camping, and getting more glimpses into Japanese country life.

Slimes was ... Cute. Kinda lightweight series, but enjoyable. The MC may be OP, but it didn't distract from the fun.

I watched Slimes earlier this month. I enjoyed it. It's actually laid-back without the Cerberus syndrome dark final two episodes that some of these series like to go for.

For some reason, Pecora's personality struck just the right balance for me with her trollish antics.

I watched The Misfit of Demon King Academy

It's another one of those power fantasy series, though not an isekai. Instead, the protagonist is the reincarnation of the demon king from 2000 years ago, complete with his former memories and a strong fraction of his power. Since society has declined in power even as peace has proliferated, he's overwhelmingly stronger than everybody else, though he is at some points a fish out of water. He basically lets others label him, until they cross his bottom line, at which point he retaliates hard.

So, my thoughts...I enjoyed the protagonist, at least. Unlike a lot of other overpowered protagonists, he isn't socially awkward one bit, outside of the occasional fish-out-of-water moments. There's no 'blushing and stuttering in front of pretty girls' moments or any of that crud. Heck, he puts two rings on the same girl two episodes apart (though it's implied that doing so as a marriage proposal wasn't really a thing in his former life), and at one point when he frees another girl from an imprisonment spell, he isn't even fazed when she comes out naked, except to give her a cloak to wear.

Probably my two biggest issues are pacing and the antagonist. As far as pacing goes, it seems really weird. The first few episodes move really quick with the plot beats, and then suddenly the last 8 episodes are two back-to-back arcs that slow everything down drastically. As for the antagonist, while we get our epic final battle and everything, a lot of the storyline is set-up by the antagonist who actually had all the reason in the world to talk to the protagonist once he reincarnated, and they don't even have any reason like foolish pride or whatever not to talk to each other. Instead, they don't, and we get the finale. Very strange development completely out of contrast to their informed characterisations.

Also, while the dub voices were decent, with the protagonist having a suitably deeper voice (as it should be!), there's some singing moments that aren't in English, and also aren't subtitled. Big oof there, because I have no idea what they're saying.

Well, it was green-lit for a second season, as I recall.

I actually liked that one...

Edit: Anyone else watching that Demon slayer series... I've currently only 2 episodes left. But I've found that except Shinobu and the one that initially recruited him, I actually have not liked much of any other slayer in that series, and in fact almost stopped watching it altogether afterthe introduction of his two nominal companions...

I watched the first half of the first season of That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime (14/26 episodes), just up to the end of the Orc invasion arc.

I enjoyed it so far. It's kind of a little weirder situational humour, and some of it comes from Rimuru's new slime-identity. Shizue's appearance and then exit really helps set-up both Rimuru's character development and the worldbuilding as a whole.

Now I'm just entertaining some silly crossover idea with Rimuru and Azusa from I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years

And finishing watching the second half of s1 of Slime. Milim and later Ramiras have some cool genki girl energy, but...wow, they really push what is tolerable clothing with Milim. This may be the first time I've seen a girl in an anime with a thong so short her asscrack shows (and they like to have shots of it).

Watched the first season of Symphogear. Neat, even if the plot occasionally makes no damn sense. Hibiki is a cute protag. I see some comments that it's not Hibiki's harem, it's Miku's harem, and...yeah, that really does sound about right.

Milim is kind of interesting in the Slime Diaries... really seems to fit in for some episodes.

However, Milim is a bit wierd in Slime S2... I can't tell if they are attempting to make her an enemy or not...

Finally finished watching up the rest of the animated KonoSuba series. The OVA for both Season 1 and Season 2, and the movie. The OVAs were funny, but they definitely up the ante on the sexual humour, which may be a little too far for some viewers (I especially had to laugh at the scene with Megumin slapping Yunyun's boobs, because of course I found that funny). The movie was fun, too, with lots of interesting little scenes and lovely background references (Konami Code, a few JoJo references, the one island with stone carvings, a sort of Dragon Ball Z Spirit bomb reference, even a Naruto Valley of the End reference, and a whole slew I either forgot to mention or didn't recognise), and it was nice to get the special effects on the magical spells. Plus, they did my girl Yunyun even more cute with all her embarrassing moments.

My KazuMin shipping senses are growing, though depending on my tastes and as I read through the LNs I might throw Yunyun in for a personal 3some favorite

Seitora: How Not to Summon a Demon Lord is one of the few Isekais I actively enjoy (admittedly because it's a harem anime and not a fake ass harem anime, thank the gods-)

Currently watching All Routes Lead to Death! S2 and Kanojo Kanojo, alongside Reincarnated as a Slime's S2.5

What is the difference between a harem anime and a fake ass harem anime?

One of my annoyances with "harem" anime are that the MC is usually an idiot who is unaware of what kind of relationship his companions want from him. It's ... well, it was funny the first few times, but these days? Just exhausting + boring + frustrating. With "How not to summon a demon lord", the premise is that Diablo decides to "play things safe" by talking in an unusual way ... which makes him even more dense than the usual protagonist. I kindof hoped that we might get some good fanfiction correcting the idiocy, but I haven't found any good stories yet.

Much to my own surprise, I realized I've never watched Macross Frontier. Earlier today I tracked down both compilation movies because I really don't have the time for the TV series. I'm told that the second movie actually diverges quite a bit from the series, but hey, at least I get to cross this title off my list. Over 10 years later.

While the anime is just now getting into the territory, Diablo gets hit with a clue-by-four and promptly starts taking Rem and Shera seriously about their feelings- then all the drama comes from how often people try to interfere in things, and Diablo's own paralyzing fear of social relationships. But-

Fake ass Harem Anime shows are Love Hina / Ai Yori Aoshi / etc where there's not a snow-ball's chance in the hottest part of the nine circles of Hell for any girl but the main love interest- it's just a rom com with extra steps.

I mean, Diablo does end up marrying them both in Vol 14/15. That said, I don't know how it effects the other girls in Diablo's Harem so... Maybe it still counts?

Speaking of, I finally watched S2 of How Not to Summon a Demon Lord (Omega).

The action scenes definitely were underwhelming compared to the first season.

Diablo...I guess has some character development for his social anxiety? He still flubs up in public a couple of times, but he's not constantly trying to figure out what to say to make himself sound 'demon lord-y' every episode. Definitely still averse to female skin, but even in that respect he's a little bit better at the end of the season than the start. Also, wow at the last few scenes of episode 10. If they don't do a S3, this really would be a good point to cut off.

The biggest twist so far is that Horn was actually pretending to be a boy. I had seen her referred to as a male twice, but other than that the show didn't even really try to play up the whole 'Horn is pretending to be a guy' thing. So not a surprise at all when the reveal happened. When they showed the Master Servant collar, I was expecting it to come into play like 3 or 4 episodes down, possible the season finale like with Klem in S1, not...the very next episode lol. Then instead of keeping her on at the end of the season with the harem, she instead goes off to magic school to help herself develop and get past her inferiority complex. So maybe the biggest twist actually is that instead of striking 'bunnygirl' and 'young-looking girl' off the list of fetishes, the bunnygirl got herself out of the harem.

Lumachina is...not a very interesting character. I feel like she drags the season down, especially since basically the entire season revolves around her damsel in distress status, not just a part of it. There was literally a single episode that didn't deal with her and the Church attempting to kill her.

At several points, Diablo talks about how he'll kill any other self-proclaimed Demon Lords that have revived. I keep mentally appending to the end of his lines, "...or put them through the Enslavement Ritual if they're cute girls".

Every episode has a fan-art picture at the very end of the episode, usually with some of the girls in lewd positions. I just about died laughing at the end title card of episode 6, which has Rem and Shera in swimsuits at 'that pool'

Yeah... Thing is, she's not a "Young Looking" bunny girl. She really is a 12-year-old child.

I despised Macross Frontier... I considered it so bad, that except Alto and the two girls I actually was rooting for the bad guys until about episode 20... then as I finally got to liking some of them around episode 20, they started dying off... That series so turned me off to the Mcross saga I've not been able to bring myself to watch anythign made after the crossover movie between Frontier and 7.

However, that was not the worst series I had seen in the late 2000's... that without question goes to TTGL...

The biggest problem with that series is it went on too long. If they'd just finished it after beating Lordgenome, it would have been fine.

Blinks... for TTGL? No... I had issues far earlier in the series. in fact, I had to stop posting my by episode citique of it listing my complains after hardcore fans at the time kept repeatedly insisting I had it all wrong and telling me after each episode if I only watch a few more episodes and the entire plot and content change completely and get *MUCH* better. I on a whim later watched the end, it sucked....

In other news...

Watched ep 6 of Remake My life... interesting series, but slow going, the main issue is since we had so little to go on with the original timeline, we are uncertain just how much a wrench he is putting into the carreers of those he is interacting with in the new one.

Watched ep 6 of Realist Hero... the episode ending cliffhangers are a bit of a downer... but it has been probably the best series all around this season I've watched.

Watched ep 5 of Tsukimichi... that guys luck seems cursed like that of Touma from Index or Seina Yamada from Tenchi... for every good piece of luck he has, something worse occurs.

Watched first fer eps of Ranaroke... it is ok,but the implementation could have been better, and I really dislike the art style... I do like Brunhilda, and boy does she got a ax to grind and a point to prove to all these gods... I don't really think this series though is going to amount to much unless there is either a cut ending or another season... it is going too slow and would prefer more plot.

Wow. That was *not* my impression with things. vol 14/15 sounds like a long way off, but I might give this show/LN a shot. I like watching relationships grow.
