Steam Winter Sale is still on until the 5th.

I bought Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;BIRTH1, Amnesia: Memories, and Tokyo Xanadu eX+. Surprisingly a few games that were cheaper to buy new, physical copies of even compared to the winter sale, so I bought those physically instead.

Steam Autumn Sale on now. Looking at the actual sales though...meeeeeh. Nothing really jumps out to me as a new low price for my wishlist, so I'll pass for now. Still trying to clear stuff from the previous Halloween sale.

I want to rant about the Street Fighter V: Championship edition on PS4 (This likely affects the xbox version too). This was a game I was looking forward to buy in the last sale. Specifically a physical copy of the game. A bit of online investigation and I find that the game has all (or most) of its DLC included on disc. Which is wonderful! Just what I was looking for - NOT.

You see, Capcom, in their infinite wisdom, decided to *LOCK* the on-disc content behind an online activation code. What this means for me, as an offline player, is that while I can install the game from disc, the only things unlocked will be the very basic list of fighters. EVERYTHING else would be locked behind an online activation.

That Just Sucks. Like ... why bother with claiming that everything is on-disc at that point if we can't play it offline?

Thankfully, I found this out within an hour of actually ordering the game, so did not lose any money. But the situation is just sad. :(

Wait... you can't simply go online long enough to input the code and get the DLC, then go offline again? That's bullshit.

Actually, yes. I deliberately keep my console offline. It was purchased for single (or couch coop) gaming. There is a PC for online/multiplayer stuff. What this means is that when making purchases, if a PS4 game does not include everything on-disc, it has little value.

As to why I do things this way - it is to own the stuff I pay for; i.e. the gaming box connected to the TV should completely belong to me and not depend on some remote activation server for any excuse.
