What (manga) are you reading?

Reading 1-nen A-gumi no Monster, mentioned by @TkMacintosh on the TFF discord up to Chapter 28 before I don't see any more recent translated chapters. The premise is a mysterious teacher with obligatory dark past takes a teaching spot at an all-girls private school and has to teach a class full of girls who are absolute bitches, hence the 'Monster Class'. I do like how the girls progressively become not-so-bad as the story moves on.

Goblin Slayer year one 52, the new arc with the guild examiner is moving to see how he got the silver rank.

And the One Operation Joker, is kinda sad how a manga in one chapter managed to pull a better Batman comic than DC in the last decade, the Joker is funny for once.

A re-read of Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, Those who hunt elves, and Hakumei to Mikochi. Even that Burn Up Manga, men i really would love some Burn Up continuation in 2021 and a Bubblegum Crisis T2040 even if mango format, the series always needed like 5 chapters more or a movie.

Is it Tough Being a Friend?

Mentioned by @TkMacintosh on the Discord server. The first chapter presents Hinomori Ryuuga and his harem in an urban fantasy setting, then spins it around and introduces the real 'main' character, Kobayashi Ichirou, who basically considers himself a 'supporting' character whose goal is to be the friend of and build up anybody he sees as a main character. Which he plays completely straight for several chapters, then of course things get spun around on its head.

Art style is nice. There's lots of scenes I actually find really amusing, whether it be the scenario, or the art shifts and pop culture references that get shown. There is some ecchi, like the occasional pantyshot, and one heccin' cute chapter in the middle with lots of female cosplay. Currently sitting at 17 chapters, updates once a month, and assuming there's no new grand twist, it feels like it's only 2-3 chapters away from an ending.

Yeah, I've read the LN for that one, and there is, in fact, a twist. To keep the spoilers to a minimum, there's more than one Demon King.

Ah. Sounds like the manga might run on longer than another few chapters, then.

Read through the first 30 chapters of Komi Can't Communicate. It's quite cute with a lot of gags, even if some of them really don't translate well, if at all.

Up to chapter 60 of Komi-san Can't Communicate

From my understanding, it apparently takes several hundred chapters before Komi and Tadano's relationship really progresses? I'm fine with that, though I guess this is one of those things where those who followed it weekly early on find it painful watching it move slowly, while I find it more even pacing binging through it later on. The two spend a lot of time together as it is already even early on. Komi is definitely receptive to Tadano at times, and Tadano isn't afraid to break Komi out of her sulks when he senses she's thinking herself into an antisocial spiral again. Chapter 59, which is right near where I wrapped up, is maybe the first time in the manga so far that Komi is shown speaking multiple sentences to Tadano, too (albeit over the phone).

I do kind of like the gag effect of how Komi sometimes grows cat ears. She even lampshades that in chapter 35, hah. 'Anxiety Point 5: Why do I sometimes grow cat ears?'

Okay, so Berserk is officially finished, done, the end. That...was not a nice finish for the series, and while the assistants could do this because Miura actually made an outline, they have no idea about anything new.

I'm...feeling a bit mixed about this. Berserk is a kind of guilty pleasure for me, but I was always afraid that it wouldn't finish properly due to its very spotty update rate.

And now its done...

*sigh* Yeah, I got literally nothing...I just feel cheated, and that isn't fair to the author at all, especially in light of how they ended up dying.

I really liked the Realist Hero anime series... So much so that last month I had ordered and received the Realist Hero Light Novel vol 1 and the Realist Hero Manga vol 1 and 2...

After reading the 1st light novel, liked it so much I ordered vol. 2-5, which came in today. I'll probably order another batch and start digging into these.

Are the official translations good?
