As an addendum, it could be Homer's fault the nuclear reactor blew, and the wanderer has to help him move on.

New Idea: A crossover between the Persona series and RWBY, where Ruby is the Wild Card (kind of), with Social Links and all.

Her initial Persona is Atalanta, who bestows the Semblance 'Speed'.

Social Links:

Team RWBY in Beacon: Fool ; Team ???? in ?: Judgement
Jaune: Magician
Weiss: Priestess/Moon
Blake: Hanged Man
Yang: Chariot
Ren: Temperance
Nora: Strength
Pyrrha (or maybe Ms. Goodwitch): Empress (missable)
Cardin: Emperor
Sun&Neptune: Sun
Penny: Aeon (also Strength Persona)
Pr. Port: Fortune
Dr. Oobleck: Hierophant
Uncle Qrow: Tower
Velvet: Moon/Priestess
Coco: Devil
General Ironwood: Justice
Zwei (yes, the dog): Star
Oscar: Death (?)
Ozpin: Hermit
Neopolitan: Jester, Lust(Hunger)
Taiyang: Lovers

KIND OF a gamer-fic, because of its nature. I haven't watched seasons 3 and 4, so I go by what I've heard in those parts.

Crack fic idea.

Handsome Jack is tired of the Vault Hunters progressing, so he tries to hire some help.

As in Bounty Hunters.

From the multiverse.

Only to fail.

Miserably (and hilariously).

You should probably watch the recent stuff, but it sounds fun. I'd read it.

Granted, i've been trying to world build a RWBY ad an RPG, with Ruby herself being the 'gamer'. It would be a straight up MMO style though.

On the Subject of RWBY mmo:

So the way I figure, ruby herself is the one the game seems to center around. Started off when she was younger just after Summers death, though it only really became noticeable once she obtained her first weapon. She keeps it quiet, eventually only telling her family about it, and extending a group invite to yang. Once you receive an invite, be it to the group, raid, or guild, you are effectively playing as well.

As for the MMO i'm using as a base? It's more or less Guild wars 2, which is the game i'm most familiar with, and with the most wiggle room on classes and such. Granted, the game design doesn't allow for 1:1 due to the breath and scope of what weapons/semblances the cast has, but I think it works well. has added stuff like health potions, aura potions, etc, provided someone is the appropriate trade skill to craft them.

At first, the characters would only have their normal skills from canon, but once they start 'playing', they do start to pick up some of their class skills. A class is assigned automatically to everyone she meets who has aura unlocked, though they are marked as an NPC unless they are also 'playing'.

So i'm thinking so far:

Ruby: Reaper (silver eye reaper shroud is OP as heck though)
Yang: Berserker
Weiss: Weaver
Blake: Chronomancer (them clones yo!)

Pyrrha: Herald
Jaune: Firebrand
Nora: Scrapper
Ren: Soulbeast

Others:
Velvet: Holosmith
Penny: Engineer
Qrow: Spellbreaker
Coco: Deadeye
Cinder: Renagade
Mercury: Thief
Emerald: Mesmer
Goodwitch: elementalist
Neo: Mirage
Ozpin: Revenant
Raven: Tempest
Taiyang: Dragonhunter
Sun: Daredevil
Port: Warrior
Olbek: Ranger
Etc and so forth.

Quirks: once you start playing, certain game cliches start to appear. Loot drops from mobs, you have an "inventory", stats, etc. Gathering points become available, and curiously, multiple people can gather from the same one. Everyone sees their own loot, and you can use the tradeskills to make stuff. You have a UI as well, though it can be hidden. You can be downed, or rezzed, though their are downsides to this, and rezzing leaves you in an unrezable state for some time. Once playing, you can "send" messages to each other in game, regardless of distance.

Since they collect loot from farming/gathering/etc, the cast has a hobby of team training in the emerald forrest, as well as buying goods from vale. Since things drop money, they find themselves with quite a lot as the story progresses. Sparring with fellow students shows as Structured PVP to them. Different areas seem to have some different drops.

Started on the above idea, doing mostly world building to clearly define the game rules and hopefully prevent much of the scope/powerlevel creep you see in such stories.

Now to the fun part, plot changes! While some events still have to happen to make the series make sense, it's fun to take a plot point, and decide how the game changes things, mostly in terms of combat.

Also decided that 1:1 Gw2 doesn't make sense, so it's more an inspired by that system, rather then the characters literally playing according to it's rules. Volumes 1 and 2 aren't likely to be too different, with stuff starting to change in volume 3, and massive changes at times to 4 and 5.

If you're thinking about that, you should read This Is The Run.

"Ruby Rose discovered the boundaries of her new world early on. Then, she learned how to break them. Imagine how this looked to everyone else. [Set mid-season 1, twist on Gamer-style nonsense. Updated Saturdays.]"

tl;dr: Ruby speedruns RWBY. Featuring wrong warps, bottle duplication, and other fun stuff.

Oh i'm so giving that a look. (gave a look) heh, speedrun tactics must look so odd in reality.

The biggest thing i'm trying to avoid is too much 'divine fiat' style dues ex machinas that conveniently solve major issues. Anything thats "game" related has to be pretty grounded in a set of pre agreed upon rules.

Otherwise they end up garbage pretty quickly, much like the majority of 'traveled to another world' stories.

Which is why I love GW2. No inspect to give you tons of info about a person. No 'random attached abilities/buffs' to an item that become game breaking. Scope creep is relatively controlled, etc.

Anyways, back to the world document, and starting to hash out major plot lines/deviations! Always a fun thing to do, honestly.

Well seventeen or so pages later, I think I have all the basics down and rough plot points for volumes 1-4. Still need to add some events/fully realise plot changes though. It's actually a lot fo fun to write it all out, reason why this or that happen, etc.

RWBY is interesting is that it honestly doens't have a ton of plot. In total, the series is what, like two hours a season, if that?

It's also been really quite easy to fit it into a GW2 style framework. It's almost like many were written for a particular profession as is.

Well, about 2/3rd done with chapter 1, need to find a beta reader though. Not too much gamification yet, will mostly get into that chapter 2. About 4,000 words down so far. It's pretty close to canon so far, though that will start to majorly change soon. After all, events that are going to happen are still going to happen.

RTX Austin is in full swing, looks like i'll have to do a few timeline changes here and there for stuff much later in the fic.

NExt chapter is nearly finished as well, just waiting to hear back form the beta reader on it.

Random idea for Persona 5 comedy fic: Yusuke becomes aware of just how broken money in the late-game becomes, and drags the rest of the party into Mementos several days in a row so he can earn lots of yen to eat food and buy random crap (I was earning probably about 2-3 million yen per trip to Mementos in the late game)

I was randomly thinking Metroid x Alien could be perfect, if slid in correctly. Of course, it'd probably be better as an actual game crossover instead of a fanfic, unfortunately.

At the end of Mega Man 7, Mega Man raises his Mega Buster at Dr. Wily. The implication is that he intends to shoot Wily and end the Wily Wars for once and for all.

He never does. Wily reminds him robots cannot harm humans. In the JP version, he puts his Buster down. In the NA version, he shouts "I am more than a robot!" In both cases, he still doesn't shoot, as Bass comes to rescue Wily in time.

Anyways, my idea is to go off what is imo the superior NA ending, and have Mega Man and Dr. Light talk after Mega Man returns from the battle. Mega Man can and will talk about how for once, he tried to kill Wily. Dr. Light can go into a philosophical discussion about the Three Laws of Robotics, and then the Zeroth Law, and how Mega Man trying to kill Wily can be seen as an example of the Zeroth Law. However, Mega Man's programming has hard limits that cannot surpass the Three Laws. Cue Light giving Mega Man a quick introduction to his X Project, something Light has been mentally designing as an android who surpasses the Three Laws.

A terrible, horrible, awful, no-good, really very bad idea:

A Danganronpa Killing Game, but filled with the dregs of interwebs society, such as:

The Ultimate Troll
The Ultimate Shitposter
The Ultimate Kiddie Scripts User
The Ultimate Godwin's Law Invoker
The Ultimate Youtube Commenter
The Ultimate Flat Earther

Everyone dying in the Killing Game would be cause for a celebration

After playing through the absurdly dark Conquest ending in Hyperdimension Neptunia REBIRTH;2 (and this ending was in the original mk2 game as well), I had an idea that isn't really a fixfic but more a continuation. The metaphor of the ending is for a single console industry monopoly that stagnates from lack of competition. So my continuation idea would basically be for a trustbuster expy to come in and dethrone Nepgear, leading to the birth of multiple new CPUs/candidates.

A STEINS;Gate idea. The first game doesn't have any character routes specifically, instead having one single, main narrative all the way through. However, there are I believe 6 separate character endings where you can make a specific choice and it'll branch off into an alternate character-specific ending.

The first chance where this happens is for Rintaro choosing to travel back in time to the...70s, I think, with Suzuha, the time traveler from the future. He does this because when she goes back by herself, she fails at her mission, to secure the MacGuffin device. He gets a redo on letting her go by himself because again, time travel, and chooses to go back with her himself.

The game cuts off and fades to black after this with no further detail, but Word of God confirms the two do have a happy ending. Presumably, in that circumstance, the two would develop a life together given their shared circumstances. I'm thinking probably a shortfic leading up to an engagement, and/or a babies ever after ending.

Another Danganronpa idea, going off of 2 and 3 (the anime 3, not the game V3)

Hajime x Chiaki romance, but with a twist that may be slightly creepy

Chiaki in Danganronpa 2 and 3 are two separate entities. D3 Chiaki is the 'real' Chiaki, who gets killed in the series. D2 Chiaki is an A.I. based off everyone's impressions and memories of the real Chiaki, and she somewhat grows on her own over the game. She gets deleted by the end of the game, but there's the potential for her to be restored.

Hajime combines A.I. Chiaki with testimony from everyone as to what the real Chiaki was, then puts the retrofitted A.I. Chiaki into a flesh-and-blood body cloned from the real Chiaki's DNA. Hey, if this sounds strangely high-tech and futuristic, so are lots of bits and pieces of the Danganronpa franchise. And yeah, then they go out together.

A Shin Megami Tensei III idea. Based off the Freedom ending, semi-slice of life. In this idea, Demi-Fiend returns back to the world as it was before the Conception...and gets to bring back sweet sweet demon waifu Pixie with him (albeit in moderately petite female human form, not two-foot floating sprite form)

I think the logistics of it would be that Demi-Fiend makes it down to the 5th Kalpa and gets uber Pixie and defeats Metatron (and autocorrect so so dearly wanted to change that to Megatron lol), only to turn down Lucifer's offer and decide to do the Freedom ending instead. Lucifer then does him a solid and works some juju so Pixie comes back with him as a 5 foot nothing sexy redhead. The hopes being when the Great Will comes out, Demi-Fiend is slightly more motivated to fight and has some backup support. Lucifer does basically send Demi-Fiend a message of support of sorts in the Freedom ending anyways.

Then some slice-of-life stuff, I guess. Possibly dates and picnics at Yoyogi Park in the real Tokyo, since that has some relevance to Pixie.

After playing 13 Sentinels, I was thinking about the character of Tamao Kurabe, who has the potential to be plot-relevant...only to be excised from the narrative until the end where she comes back after all the fighting but is still important. I guess the equivalent in an RPG is somebody from the starting town who could have made a pivotal difference in the narrative, but just never got recruited at all, but then gets yanked forward to help rebuild.

Anyways. I was thinking I could do a brief fic of her feeling like she is missing out on a lot of stuff as a 'fifteenth wheel', because she wasn't around to help fight kaiju in giant mecha like everyone else was

Would be pretty meta I'll give you that, although it would probably be a pain in the ass trying to work out how the time loop affects the palace run.
