A bit of Insanity at its finest.

Now, this little Gem came to me while listening to some Boss Techno and just chilling after whooping some Zerg ass on starcraft 2 Multi. I was surfing DevArt when I came across a Pic of Danny Phantom all teched and it was like getting struck with a bolt of lightening.

I said to myself "Hey now. There have been lots of X-overs with dear Danny, but has there ever been one with Starcraft?"

And so I checked. There really hasn't been.

And so the Insanity began. And here is a clip of how it al starts.

"Danny, you sure its ok to be doing this? Like messing around with the Portal and Infi-map?" The black haired girl asked as both her and her fellow friend/Hated meat lover Tucker watched their semi-inhuman companion Danny tinker with the two aforementioned items. He had the two connected, the Infi-map stretched out and clipped to a metal plate and linked to the (Patent pending) Fenton Portal by various electrodes.

"Ya man, Sam's right. Not that I doubt you or Frostbite, or your plan to relocate the your Parents portal with the map, but shouldn't I be handling it? Like, I'm supposed to be the techie here."

The raven haired teenager finished hooking up one set of wires before sighing and turning around to face his friends, a slightly exasperated look on his face. "Look guys, its alright. I just have to do exactly as Frostbite said, and it'll work. Besides, " He said holding up a piece of (Glowing) paper and a smiling. "If this does work, we can control where the Portal will appear in the Ghost Zone. No more flying around for hours looking for something, just point and ask and that's where we'll be. And after all the hard work it took to get Frostbites scientists in here, it's better to try it out."

Both Goth and Geek still looked skeptical however. However, while Tucker seemed to dive into his latest handheld gadget, Sam decided to stick around so to speak. "Still Danny, this could be dangerous. Like, more dangerous then normal. The last time you messed with the portal like this, you half-died and got your powers. I really don't want to know what happens if you mess up and get zapped again." What had started out as something serious, ended with a caring note howver and a honestly fearful look on the part of Sam. Danny just smiled with a bit of confidence.

"Don't worry, I won't. Frostbite made the instructions really simple, and he even sent the gear we needed. Besides, after that nightmare with Gauntlet, all the ghosts are laying low so this is the perfect time."

This, coupled with the mentioned smile, put Sam at ease. But before anything else could be exchanged, Tucker returned from his digital world with a remark of his own. "Hate to rain on? your parade man, but what happens if it does go wrong anyways? Just want to know, in case we have to save you and stuff. Basic procedure and all."

Both Danny and Sam looked at him for a moment, before Sam's eyes went back to Danny with a questioning look of her own. Confronted, the teen sighed and looked at the paper. "Well, Frostbite said that the worst that could happen would be me ending up in a part of the Ghost zone? we never been too before. The Gear is set up so that if something overloads the map is cut off from the Portal, and the portal resets to where it was before.

Anyways, it's never interesting to make things easy for the Character. I spend alot of time figuring out which Situations will let me write the best story I can, and in which Situations Danny can have a chance to prosper, fail, or have too easy of a time.

For example. Say I stuck Danny right in the middle of a Zerg Attack in the middle of no where. Chances are, Danny is screwed. More so on Char, since his abilities would make him stand out to Kerrigan.

With the Protoss, I have no real idea. They are Enigmatic enough, and wise enough that they would not do anything untowards right away, but they would still be distrustful.

If I stuck him with Raynor's Raiders, he would either be treated as the "Kid" till his abilities are known, and then it could go any which way. I could even see Tosh trying to recruit him to go through the Specter Program.

If I stick him on Korhal or one of the other Core worlds, I have him in a stable environment where he has a Chance to adapt and learn at a easy pace. Mengsk is a complex enough Character that if he discovered Danny, he would not just jump on him right away, but observe and approach carefully. He would try to manipulate Danny, and put him in a Position where he could get the most out of him, and be able to push Danny in a array of Directions.

Not only that, we must take Danny into account. As Fenton, he is laid back, a Snarker, with a sense of right and wrong and Innocent until proven guilty to a degree. As Phantom, he is much more active and this is switched to a degree, Danny becoming much more forward but retaining a somewhat laid back persona, and snarking left and right.

So, I must take this into consideration and try to think up a way to write it that lets me exploit the Characters in the best way I can and still be true to them.

Alright, hate to Triple-post myself, but here is the last Clip and we can move into real discussion. Hopfully, it turns into something Productive. Now remember, this is just a rough clip, and its been awhile since I messed around with Danny, Sam, and Tucker so my Characterizations are bound to be off. Puncuation has also never been my Strong point, but thats what Beta's are for. Just read, enjoy, and tell me if this would make a decent opening to the Story, if it ever gets to that phase. After words, feel free to ask questions and speculate. I will do the best I can.

It was another summer day in Amity Park. To anyone that visited, it looked like any other small city despite being called the ôMost Haunted Place on Earthö. Over all, it was quite and peaceful, at least as much as a city could get. However, if you were visiting and commented on it to a local, they would simple stare at you strangely and tell you that chances were that the fact was going to change sooner or later. If you asked why, chances were they would laugh or give you another strange look and tell you that it was just the way Amity Park worked.

Toss this in with the reputation for Ghost attacks, and tourism was a very strange thing in Amity Park.

But for those that did come, there was always a few interesting sights to see around town. Ask just about anyone about it, and they would almost always point to the residential district. And if you did happen to follow those directions and were into the weird and abnormal, then chances are that encountering the Fenton household and home of the towns premier ghost hunters would not disappoint.

After all, if the massive neon sign did not make your jaw drop, then the virtual UFO/Miniature fortress parked on top would make your inner Trekkie squeal with glee. And if you were lucky, the you might even get a chance to meet the famed Husband-and-Wife duo of modern ghost hunters and partake of their incredible wisdom and experience, and witness their scientific genius at work.

Thankfully, we aren't that lucky. If we were, chances are we would be wrapped up in a certain Fenton's ramblings on Ghosts and Ghost science with the now-and-again mention of fudge. So, lets be moving on.

Instead, we come to the basement/lab where we see a trio of teens amidst the various machines and inventions with one raven-headed teen hard at work wiring together a fairly complex looking machine and hooking it up to one rather large set of armored and caution striped marked doors. Two of the teens, one bearing the a tasteful Gothic look and the other sporting a red beanie and fairly plain clothes, watch as the third worked away with matching looks of worried and accepting.

And after all the hard work it took to get Frostbites scientists in here, it's better to try it out."

Both Goth and Geek still looked sceptical however. In response, Tucker seemed to dive into his latest handheld gadget, and Sam decided to stick around so to speak. "Still Danny, this could be dangerous. Like, more dangerous then normal. The last time you messed with the portal like this, you half-died and got your powers. I really don't want to know what happens if you mess up and get zapped again." What had started out as something serious, ended with a caring note however and a honestly fearful look on the part of Sam. Danny just smiled with a bit of confidence.

"Don't worry, I won't. Frostbite made the instructions really simple, and he even sent the gear we needed. Besides, after that nightmare with Gauntlet and Freakshow, all the ghosts are laying low so this is the perfect time."

This, coupled with the mentioned smile, put Sam at ease. But before anything else could be exchanged, Tucker returned from his digital world with a remark of his own. "Hate to rain on your parade man, but what happens if it does go wrong anyways? Just want to know, in case we have to save you and stuff. Basic procedure and all."

Both Danny and Sam looked at him for a moment, before Sam's eyes went back to Danny with a questioning look of her own. Confronted, the teen sighed and looked at the paper. "Well, Frostbite said that the worst that could happen would be the Infi-map sending anyone that goes through somewhere we haven't been before. He said that the power of the Infi-map to let you travel anywhere you want in the Ghost Zone works a bit like a worm hole or whatever it was he mentioned. It folds space and dimensions to get you where you want to go almost instantly.ö

Danny sighed again, rubbing his hand through his hair and looking again the piece of ghost paper with a fair bit of scrutiny. ôOr at least, I think that's what he said, and its whats written here on the instructions.á This machine he and his scientists came up with lets us control our portal, and decide where it comes out. Not only can we go where ever we want in the Ghost Zone, but we can keep moving it about and seriously put a dampener on Ghosts like Skulker and Technus. They can't cause trouble if they can't find the portal. And anyways, we can keep the portal open and if I end up in the wrong place, I can always come back.ö

Looking up and still seeing their wary looks, Danny caved. ôBut if you still want to help, It can't hurt I guess.ö

That changed the situation, and both Sam and Tucker looked a fair bit relieved. Tucker was up and had a arm around Danny's shoulder lightening fast. ôNot that we don't trust ya man, but still. We would feel alot better if we did help then if we didn't. Besides, we need to know how this stuff works in case you blow yourself up or something.ö

Same nodded, tossing her own two-cents in. ôTuckers right Danny. We need to know how this works, so we can find you if something goes wrong. Not that you can't take care of yourself, but you never know. Now, let me and Tucker take a look at those instructions....ö

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Awhile later, and the three teens looked proudly at the modifications they had wrought on the Fenton Portal and patted each other on the back for managing it without blowing themselves up. Frostbites device was securely attached to the Portal's outer rim, with leads connecting to a small tri-stand with the infi-map secured to the flat part atop of it.

Letting the seriousness of the situation get to him, Danny lost his happy look and a grim one took its place. Walking up to the pedastel, he let his hand hover over the map as he looked back to his two friends. ôYou guys ready for this?ö

Both Sam and Tucker nodded, having become grim-faced as well. Danny sighed, turning his gaze back to the infi-map. ôWell, here goes nothing.ö was all he said as he set his hand on the map. Trying to keep the excitement out of his voice, he decided that anyplace would do for the test run. ôInfi-map, take me to the Far Frozen.ö

The map glowed, and Frostbites device whirred and buzzed. The armored doors to the Portal sprang open, and the Trio watched as the swirls of green twisted and turned in strange and stranger ways, warping into itself. They even watched as the Portal shifted color a few times, darker and lighter greens mixing in before it all came to a end and the normal Portal as they knew it returned. Taking his hand off the map, he nodded vigorously at his two friends, and they all scrambled into motion.á Tucker and Sam sprang towards a nearby worktable, and both grabbed some small pieces of tech while Danny snaged a pair of Fenton Phones, tucking them into his ear.

Sam was the first to return from the table, though Tucker was close behind. Both started to hand the gear to Danny, while he checked them off and snapped them to his belt. ôOk, Transmitter, check. Mapper, check. Therm-Hey, whats this Sam?ö

Shaking the Thermos in hand, Danny could hear a distinct sound, a mix between a rattle and a thud, with a bit of a crinkly sound. Popping the top, he shook the contents out, staring oddly at the handful of energy bars that ended up in his hand before looking up at Sam. The girl just snorted, before grabbing the Thermos and bars and stuffing them back inside. ôIn case you get hungry Danny. You never know. Better safe then sorry, and their recyclo-vegaterian as well.ö

Danny just cringed slightly at the idea, remembering the last time he had some of Sam's food but accepted the energy bar packed Thermos anyways as Tucker checked his handheld and gave him the thumbs up. ôAll clear man, you got the gear and your ready to go. The Transmitter will let us find you easy if we have to come in after you, and the Ghost mapper your parents made should keep track of your surroundings. You really don't need the Thermos, but better safe then sorry.ö

Danny nodded, and strode to stand in front of the Portal. He took a deep breath, and for the hell of it shouted his battlecry to the roof as he threw his arms up high. He kinda needed the psych-up, and he wasn't afraid of anyone hearing him, what with his parents and Jazz gone. ôGoin' Ghost!ö echoed through the lab, as the rings of light consumed him and left Danny Phantom in the place of Danny Fenton. Setting his arms down, he raised a hand to check the Fenton Phones. ôAlright, can you hear me?ö he said as he twisted around to look at Sam and Tucker. Both gave him a smile and a A-OK, their own Fenton Phones in their ears. With a smile and a wave, Danny stepped through the Portal and the two teens stepped up to monitor the equipment, Tucker near the Portal, and Sam watching the Infi-map.

And that's where it all went wrong.

For the two teens, they could never really describe it when asked later on. All Sam and Tucker remembered was the Portal suddenly surging, before the shockwave knocked them both out as Frostbites device literal vaporized itself in a surge of power. Sam, sheltered somewhat by the flimsy pedestal with the Infi-map and being farther away was just knocked to the floor and out cold. Tucker on the other hand had been standing almost right next to it, and was thrown almost clear across the lab. He would be found unconscious with a broken arm and a series of cracked ribs.

For Danny though, it was all just beginning. He too would never really be able to explain it later on, but he would claim that is was a surreal thing watching reality collapse in on itself and explode in a literal nova as he passed through the portal. At least, before he too was struck unconscious.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When he next awoke, it was to the sounds of a bustling City, and a glaring sign over his head from where he lay, declaring in bright, bold words ôWelcome, To Korhalö.

If the Zerg copy his powers like they were supposed to when they snatched Kerrigan the Terrans are dead. But seeing as they only survived because Kerrigan stopped attacking it all depends on the timing.

Part of the reason why I would like to avoid the Zerg for now. Placing Danny near them puts the entire verse at risk of unbalance. If the Zerg don't copy him, then Kerrigan will at least know of him, and what he can do. She will either move to kill him to avoid a threat, or move to have him or his DNA added to the swarm. The last we need is Zerg!Danny or Ghost Zerg.

But you are right. The idea of placing him near the Zerg so his first experience in the StarCraft verse is the Horrors of the Swarm, if the timing was right. But the problem is, that No matter how I approach at it, I can't seem to get it.

If you use Kerrigan as an example it seems that the Zerg can only assimilate simple abilities. Most, if not all, are entirely physical.

True. It would ultimately depend on what Genetics they could get from Danny. Even then, a few stray genes could be enough. Danny already showed that he could Rip though Titanium once with his bear hands if he put his mind too it. But Zerg are already pretty strong as it is.

Anything else would, as said, depend. Ectoplasm is a very tricky substance. I think that getting Danny's pure Human DNA down would be easy, it would be the Ghost-altered DNA that would give the Zerg trouble. Trying to replicate a substance that seems to be solidified Psychokinetic energy and fuse it with DNA would give them a hard time, if not impossible.

At this point, it would be hard to tell what Kerrigan would do. She is smart, powerful, and a insanely gifted Psionic. If she has learned of Danny, seen what he can do, and escaped from Her/The Zerg at least once. At first glance, Many of Danny's abilities resemble very High-Level Psionic's. The Choice to Kill, Capture and Convert, or any other is very possible.

Anyways.

There is also the fact that I mentioned that Danny's abilities do resemble Psionics. This is going to be part of the story, ad will let Danny explain his abilities away at first for a good part of the story. By introducing Danny as a New type of powerful psionic, it will add reason to be interested in him by all factions. Mengsk will see him as a powerful new tool, if he can be controlled. The ultimate Spy and Assassin. Able to go anywhere, and move unrestricted and unseen. The Perfect Ghost.

The Protoss will be interested in him purely for his Psionic ability, but with more Innocent intentions then Mengsk. To them, a Terran with such abilites is unprecedented, the last even having Psionic power like that is Currently the Queen of Blades. And even she could not simply move through solid matter as if it was not there.

Raynor and the others, they are a bit of a Mystery. I have a good feel of Raynor, but I still don't quite have a idea of what his reaction and thoughts on someone like Danny will be.

I could really use your Opinion on them Zeebee, or anyone else reading this.

I'll have more of an opinion once I finish Wings of Liberty. I'm at the point where none of her actions make any sense.

Well, Kerrigan's motivations through Wings of Liberty are pretty obvious. When the prophesied end comes she will just let herself be killed. But her destruction of Terran space is her attempt at revenge against Mengsk.

Raynor isn't as broken as the previews for the game suggested. In the end he's the same person he was from his first appearance. James Raynor is a man who wants to protect random strangers and kill those that threaten them. It depends on how Danny acts around him, but he would probably view him as another helpless Ghost if it's in the second game. But if Danny is loyal to Mengsk by that time without brainwashing he will just view Danny as another enemy.

But ultimately it depends on when, and how, they meet.

Thank you for that Zeebee.

True, I sort of got that Vibe from Kerrigan myself, but not so much. She seemed to realize that it was coming, but did not want to just go out without a bang. Indeed her attempt at destroying Terran Space is revenge at Mengsk. But I feel there is something else there that we are not quite getting. Kerrigan knew more then she let on, and she had a plan.

Ultimately, it would be a Choice of Profit or Not. Would Kerrigan see a Profit for her revenge from Danny enough to warrant not killing him, or would she simply see him as a Threat or something Similar.

With Raynor, I was thinking that he is either the Secondary or Third encounter Danny makes of the various Persona's in the StarCraft verse. Since I was thinking that this takes place during Liberty, before the Broadcast mission, I was thinking that Danny either Encounters The Zerg and by Proxy Kerrigan, or Mengsk which would lead to his encountering the others.

If I have him Encounter the Zerg First, it would be on the world where Raynor picks up the good doctor. From there, I can have him experience the Swarm, and have a slow intro into the Verse as Danny hears about the Evac happening over a Local Radio and moves to join it. This would be what Ultimately leads danny to Raynor.

The other way, with Mengsk, is that I have him awaken on Korhal. The Situation I have here is much more Fast in its pace. After getting there, Danny notices how much he stands out in this strange world and makes to fit in, trying to obtain a set of Clothes that don't stand out as much. Meanwhile nearby, Mengsk is making a Political speech and a Assassination attempt occurs just as Mengsk receives a Comm about a Extremely high burst of Energy and Psi Emanations that was detected (Danny's Arrival). This is just in time for Danny to pass by, and noticing his Hero instincts kick in and he moves to help. Ultimately, he demonstrates his various abilities while Saving Mengsk, and inadvertently drawing his attention. Afterwords, Danny leaves and Mengsk starts a Covert manhunt for Danny.

This climaxes when Danny and Mengsk meet again, and Mengsk does what he does best to people who don't know him. He moves to Manipulate Danny, and ultimately tries to have him entered in the Ghost Program. Danny manages to weasel out of it, and Mengsk does not press it, not wanting to scare off someone with such Valuable ability. However, he does ask Danny for help, as a Man trying to Run a Empire with trouble from a Horrible Terrorist. This is what will bring Danny into contact with Raynor.

What do you think?

The second one is the only one I'd believe. By the second game the emperor is obvious slime. And Danny has encountered people who put on an act. His arch-nemesis became the mayor. But if this is before Kerrigan's betrayal Danny could be brought over easily.

Hmm, that is actually a good idea. Don't bring Danny in for SC2, but instead inbetween the games, and somewhere in the expansion. Either right after, or right before Kerrigan's betrayal and the decimation of the Earth Force expedition. This would allow for a fair amount of Flexibility. I could have the End or near-end of the Expansion to work on as a base, and flow into the years between SC and SC2 with free license to do as I please within reason. This way, I don't have to worry about the ridged Story Structure that comes with SC2, and yet still be true to the verse.

If you want him to be tricked into working for the Dominion it's best to do it when the Confederacy still exists. Danny wouldn't see a dictator, he'd see a hero. And He'd see Raynor as a traitor to the human race, like everyone else.

True, but I do want the chance in the story to see Mengsk for what he really is, and a Chance to choose between Mengsk who is even worse then Vlad, or with Raynor who he has been tricked into seeing as nothing more then a Traitor

That's why you chose a good time. If you're working with an evil who's pretending to be a good guy through ruthless means you can only rationalize a certain amount of atrocities away. Danny will see the things that have to be done to keep the Dominion strong, and loyalty and belief won't last forever.
