A chat function

Eh, not yet I don't think. At various times it may let you in, and then a little while later not let you in anymore. It is just a matter of random luck wether or not you can get in right now. Some days I get in, other days I still get a page not found message.

Interesting. Does Gabbly work at all anymore?

It's a random chance, though the chances of getting in seem a bit low. Last time that I got in was 2 days ago, but after that it ahs just been the usual "page not found" message

I haven't been able to get into gabbly for quite some time now, with some exceptions.

But it's gotten so bad that I don't even bother anymore.

We should just stick to IRC.

Unfortunately, the server Hawk chose looks for open proxies you might be running, and if your IP is blacklisted.
If your ISP uses an open proxy, or you have dynamic IP and gets one that is blacklisted, youre kicked out.

To the Gabbly Regulars:

As of 12.35 PM (GMT -5), Gabbly's domain name has Expired!

Do make your way into MSN if this condition continues.

See you there!

Wow... Gabbly is actually dead. But given all the grief the program gave us, I can't say I'm surprised that's its dead now.

Too bad CBox isn't a good real time conversion program. Looking up the Java applets in your browser that connect to IRC just in case everyone wants to use that instead of MSN.

Dont forget to look for an IRC server as well.
But please, dont use the one Hawk tried. It has a blacklist of IPs that can be a lot of trouble if you have a dynamic IP.

I was thinking of using LunarNet. Its stable, so long as Stelish didn't trip over anything (joking). Plus, a few other fanfic IRC channels are there as well.

But barring LunarNet, that leaves procrast.net or another server that I use to go to that is bloated.

So long, Gabbly. You were a crappy program but still useful sometimes.

Which is why I'm leaving the IRC channel open. Gabbly is crappy and it will crash again. -___- That, and it took me 4 refreshes to join Gabbly this morning while the site listed only 441 users.

Ok, for the influx of people we randomly got today using mibbit. You can set a name prior to joining the room. It makes things easier. If you do not, then you can type /nick name. Which would change your nick to name, so I suggest using what you want to be called. You can also use / meáaction (minus the space between / and me), which will make you do something. It would look something like:

* Jakkun does an action

When done with the room you can type /quit reason, or just type /quit. That will make you leave the room instead of waiting to time out.

First:á Mibbit JAVA IRC chat program.á This is for those that don't have mutli function clients.

And for those that have clients (mIRC or Chatzilla for example).

Server: irc.lunarnet.org
Port: 6667
Channel:á #TFF
Just a reminder that we do have an IRC channel now. ^_^

Channel Operators:
Locke69 (owner)
Lawra (auto OP)
Moshuel (auto OP)

IRC commands:

/nick name -- Change your nick to whatever you have as your name.
Example:
/nick Locke
User's nick was changed to Locke

Now hopefully that will kill the You Fail topic in this section.

#TFF Ban List:
Chaos and Creation

Statements for each Ban:
Chaos and Creation: Ban evasion, ill prepared and worded appeal, trolling, being an annoyance, etc. Can not appeal again.

Warning List
Spaz - One warning: Speaking in multiple languages without offering an English translation and being a general bother to the channel as a whole.
lord geryon - One Warning: Taking his frustration out on the channel, posting NSFW pictures without tags.
Souffle - One Warning: Posting NSFW pictures without NSFW tags constantly (He has since remembered to always do it except for at early in the morning).
Pillz - Two Warnings: Annoying the channel owner while breaking the channel's self-enforced PG-13 rating. Trying to cyber in channel.
Pirazy - Two Warnings: Was warned to keep the chatter at PG-13, tried to troll an OP.
Takerial - One Warning: Trolling, failure to use common sense.

Rules of the channel:
1. The channel is to be kept at PG-13 levels of chatter. Constant swearing, abusive language, excessive sexually implicit language, and or cybering will result in unannounced kicks and or bans if felt necessary. Some amount of sexual content in chat is permitted, provided that it is within the boundaries provided by the other guidelines. it must be "tasteful," however; whether it is or isn't is the moderator's call of judgment.
2. Common sense, use it.
3. Do not advertise for the sake of advertising. You'll get kicked automatically.
4. No channel operator privilege begging.
5. Voices will be assigned to people that the channel operators trust.
6. English is the channel's primary language. You may speak in any other language, so long as you also offer an English translation. Failure to do so, once asked for the translation, will get you marked.
7. Do not troll the channel or its operators, they have full right and privilege to kick you from the channel and or ban you. Trolling includes unnecessary provocations of another user, such as excessive joking at someone else's expense. Each operator will follow his or her own meaning of this.
8. Politics, keep your discussion on the subject light, anything that becomes slightly heated, and the channel operators will ask you stop. If you don't, they will kick you.
9. Every time you get kicked and come back to repeat your offense. You will incur a chance at getting banned. This will ultimately be left up to the operator that is currently awake and or active.
10. All pictures that get linked, that are not safe for work, shall be tagged as such. Some of us log in at work or school. This is to protect them and us. Repeated offenses will result in you getting kicked
11. In the end, the channel's owner and the channel's operators have final say in any matter of punishment.
12. Do not speak in with Caps Lock on. Its highly annoying as it general means that you're yelling something. If you wish to emphasis something, italicize it.

Rules on Bans:
1. All bans are appeal-able to the channel's owner only, and only by the person that was banned. No one else may speak for the person that was banned.
2. Most bans will only last for a day or two. If not, appeal.
3. All appeals must be in formal English. Chat speak or anything that isn't readable will be ignored.
4. Give me the time and date of your ban at the top or bottom of your appeal. Along with the person that banned you.
5. Do not try to evade the ban. That reflects poorly on any later try to appeal or on your current appeal. Evasion is grounds for permanent ban from your first ban IP and any later IP used.

Warnings:

People that receive 1 warnings on anything will be kicked if you break any of the rules even once. People that receive 3 warnings will receive bans as their automatic punishment.

All rules but the first one are subject to change. Additional rules will be added as needed.

Takerial - One Warning: Trolling, failure to use common sense.
Is this the time when I got people to put me on ignore for describing my bodily functions and then proceeded to get the other people in the channel to act like I was saying bad things about them?
