A Diferent Thing to learn

Before the events in canon happens, it is stated that naruto failed the genin exams a couple of times because couldnÆt execute the bunshin (clone technique) right. People have they beliefs about why he never suceded in using such a basic ninja skill, but because his large chakra reserves he could use the kage bunshin (shadow clone technique) tha is much more advanced. He learned such techniqe on the start of the show, reading the ôscroll of the sealsö. By what was showed, the scroll have a huge selection of powerfull jutsus û being the reason why Mizuki wanted it in the first place.

There are some stories in that show naruto learning some other jutsus besides kage bunshin from the scroll before Iruka found him(some of them even making him learn the yondaimeÆs sinature jutsu from it). Good part of these stories forget a little and very important fact about the scroll: it is a list of forbiden jutsus made by the first hokage himself, with one that could even break the shinigamiÆs Seal and make the superdeveloped Fox break loose(as was stated by the third hokage). Some of the jutsus of the scroll could be much more dangerous than making a exact replica of the user. And that would give a lot more possibilities too.

And are for these possibilities that this chaleng has been created: begining first with the simple question that create most (If not all) of the AU fics: What if? In this case would be ôwhat If Naruto learned a diferent jutsu from the scroll?ö.

What if the orange clad boy had taugh he would fail if tried a variation of the jutsu that doomed him on the other times he tried to become a ninja?
What if he decided to see the others jutsus on the scroll before picking one to learn and found one that sounded more cool than the first one?

The reason and the answer is up to who take the challenge.

And here goes the conditions:

*Naruto will learn only ONE Jutsu from the scroll (when iruka found him in canon, he said he got time for learn only one and that is aplicated here too).

*Naruto will not know everething about it and will not use as it was suposed to in the begining and will come with ways to use it on his own (kage bunshin was something primary to tracking, spionage and reconaisance, have the blond blockhead done something like that before learning about the memory trick? Or did he head about it before learning how to use it in the first place?)

* It will not be the summoning jutsu(was used already and make things get really messed up some times).

*The jutsu can be pretty much anything, it can make naruto able to talk to trees, control people like the guy from Code Geas or even turn he into a freak like the dude from Prototype (only exemples), but you must remember that it is forbiden, so it need some real bad side efect or condition to be used (kage bunhin need huge amounts of chakra and can cause exttreme mental strain to the user).

*If you like character bashing, please leave it to the minimum, or not make it at all (it get old fast, and can make the story disgusting if used too much).
*If making pairings, leave them more to the background if you are not making a romance story, and avoid the less believable ones (Hinata/Sasuke, Sakura/Itachi, Naruto/Temari and so on...) and the ones with people of the same gender, too.

*Naruto will not change personality, will hit a growth spurt, will not get smart sudenly, and definitily do not, and I repeat, DO NOT will stop wearing orange.

Hrmm...

Naruto has tons of chakra to burn, isn't known for being delicate, and is amazing at sneaking around...

Wind Sentry, A-Rank. Creates a small semi-permanent 'stored jutsu' that can be detonated either by enemy proximity or a manual command. Said 'stored jutsu' is your average B-Rank wind jutsu. Bad side? It requires a constant supply of chakra to maintain the 'storage', making it useless as a trap, and most ninja have better jutsu to use in combat.

Cue Kakashi's jaw dropping during the bell test as he has to dodge ten of them fired together.

Inspired by Assassin's Lightning Sentry.
