This could interesting... Would Horo be angsting over Lawrence? And would she influence Naruto to pursue some other dream, rather than Shinobihood?

I never really thought about what point in the Spice and Wolf timeline Horo would be coming from. I just assumed a pre-series Horo with her canon personality (and egregious habit of not keeping any clothes on when it's just her and Lawrence traveling between villages) would be the perfect contrast with Naruto's canon attitude when he first shows up demanding chakra

Sure. It's not like you can't cross over two fandoms without having to make some mechanics changes as needed...

But would she be able to supply enough? I don't know much about Spice and Wolf, but I don't think Horo is anywhere near the power of Kurama.

For the sakes of comedy let's say yes. But in turn Naruto has to bring her apples into the seal every time he needs chakra. Somehow. Someway.

And, wasn't Horo technically a goddess? I think that is close enough to say she can count as having the power of Kurama.

So that leaves the question, why was Horo sealed inside Naruto?

Danzou does it in order to screw over a country that was benefitting from her, and causing Konoha to lose profits.

Because a ninja got her confused with a biju while Kurama was simply sleeping peacefully in a cave because he is actually an incredibly lazy bastard.

Sure, why not. Let's go with that.

(On a side note, we've known for two-and-a-half YEARS that Kurama didn't just randomly attack the village, but people are still using the "omg *such-and-such attacked the Kyuubi*" plot device.

So maybe, they tried to in the last minute find a safe place for Kushina to give birth, because Tobi somehow got spotted, Kushina had a hunch or [insert plot device].

Somehow, they stumble into grouchy just woken up Horo [or other being], and in resulting chaos seal her into Naruto.

That however possibly butterflies Naruto's parents being dead, so not sure if not to much subplotting.

We can do that, too. Keep Kurama in Kushina and then Naruto is a quasi-jinchuuriki.

Then we get more funny moments than depressing moments.
