Abandoned Fics

The Way of Heaven, a Ranma 1/2 / AMG fic by John S. Olson... a truly original way to cross over those two series, and the reason why I have a soft spot, to this day, for Ranma/Skuld fics, even if the pairing for that story is not Ranma/Skuld.

Yeah. I have it saved on my HD, unfortunately, and my old link didn't work.

Try:

R-OMG 'The Way Of Heaven' by John S Olson - [Status=Single File]
- [Direct] http://www.fanfic.net/pub/Anime/FanFiction...ay-of-heaven.gz
Heh, you rock Heintz! Thanks!
I happened to have that link and that story already, so posting it was some 30 seconds, if that.

Only issue with that link for me is my current configuration of IE has issue with older GZ links. Though it works fine in the dreaded FireFox.

"Girl Days" [Ranma 1/2] by Robert Haynie - Never fails to elicit a laugh from me.
"Paragon" [Ranma 1/2 / Sailor Moon] by Robert Haynie - One of the better 'Ranma becomes a magical girl' fics Ive read, without Ranma becoming a Scout.

"A Not So Simple Wish" [Ranma 1/2] by Ebiris - Started off sluggish but became well written. Then it stopped. :(

Fics I'd like to see updated at some point in time.

Asinine Realization by Geno Calamari
Attraction by gelfling
Set In Stone by The SOC Puppet
Softly Say Goodnight by Chevira Lowe
Vargas by Zarla
Several Ways to Die Trying by WitchGirl
Hellblazer: Hogwarts by Camwyn
Transition Anchor by Chelsee
Asinine Realizations was one of the first Naruto fics I read; I loved how he worked the Team7 triangle. He had a better grasp of Sakura's character than many.

I would love to see Escape Velocity & Blue Eyes by CyberWolf continued.

As Well as The Paradise Army (Sailor Moon), by His Lordship Chaos.

"Set in Stone" was not abandoned. Its writer posts here; he just hasn't had much time for writing in the last year-plus.

"Transition Anchor", sadly, I doubt will ever get updated again. Four years, almost.

It is so very, very hard to believe that an author as plagued by RL as SOC will find the time - and, given canons recent developments, motivation - to continue this.

As for Transition Anchor.... even worse. Because TA is easily amongst the top 10 naruto stories ('realistic/grim') out there.

Maybe it's hard to believe, but unless an author goes completely incommunicado with the world for years on end and doesn't reply to any, repeated attempts to contact him; or unless an author outright SAYS that he's not going to continue a fic, like JohnnyG, I prefer not to think of fics as "abandoned".

Especially when the author talks about his stories as if they are, somehow, in progress.

As for TA, yeah, it's a loss. Then again, Chelsee recently updated her FFnet profile and she says she'll get back to it. I just noticed that yesterday, ironically.

IE is seeing recieving the .gz stream and decompressing it automatically(which firefox should do to conform with standards), the external app to registered to handle the .gz file is then getting the uncompressed file. Which fails.

Just save the .gz as a .txt, and it works nicely.

I know, still an annoyance when direct linking. Still, not a big problem.

Another name that can be added to the DEAD ZONE is Jeff One$shot Wong's Just Won't Die Series which has been dead since 11/15/05 Almost 2years

Hmmm... While I do indeed consider that dead, according to my last download, I got the 11th spinoff around 6/2006. While I do not know when he actually made it, I do not think it that long before that.

I generally class any story or any author not having updated in a one year time as 'Possibly Dead'.

Sadly, this also includes 'On A Clear Day You Can See Forever' by M MacKinnon. This is despite his last entry from about a week ago stating he was working on it. Once the next chapter is out, I'll reclass him and the story as alive again.

Ummm... what was updated on that date? Current author notes I found don't go back that far, and the JWD page itself does not even have the 11th spinoff listed that I have.

Well... that would do it.

Personally... I had always hoped the Nene arc would have been continued. Oh well...

It seems that Psyckosama has uploaded a rewrite of Awkward Consequences in Fanfiction.net

I am not quite sure about the differences between the original and the rewritten version, since I have not read it.

I am HOPING that this means the fic will be continued, and hopefully, finished since I regard this as one of the best Ranma/Hotaru SM fics in the fandom.

Most of the differences i've read thusfar are very artificial, and he hasn't corrected some fairly obvious grammatical mistakes, which is kind of disappointing.

But otherwise... I'm VERY happy to see him picking this back up.
