About Ryusei

One thing that bugs the heck out of me, is that Ryusei is generally considered as a goofball without a care in the world. What many people seems to ignore or forget is, at the beginning of the OG games, he was already providing for both himself and his mother. Mother that needed an hospital treatment that seemed to cost a preety penny.
So while it's true that he is a goofball, to make him appear with the emotionnal range of a teaspoon like I've seen many people do is frustating.

Ryusei was probably modeled after Gai Daigoji - a total goofball, but he'll just as soon die than let his friends down. I do like him, but both SRTOG characters leave me a little cold. I prefer the secondary characters - Latouni, Seolla, Irmgard, Elzam...

yes Ryusei is the otaku of the OG cast, (and reminds me of myself more than I care to admit.).

Ryusei is far from being my favorite OG character (that place goes to that old fart Baran Doban). In other SRW games, at least he have another otaku he can share his interest with (Noriko from Gunbuster), but in the OG universe he feels so... I dunno, he just doesn't seems to fit in there. The same apply to Tasaku. It's almost as if he were ther just for comic relief. That, and being Sanger/Odin's favorite punching (cutting?) bag.

Also, Ryusei's blindness irritates me. How can a normal man ignore such obvious advances from a gothloli? He must be mechasexual.

But even I have to admit, I'd hit Valcione like the fist of an angry god.
