Chapter 1: Together We Stand
----------------------------------------------
"Do you have everything?"
I reluctantly nod towards Ms. Shizuna, my newly assigned guardian/parole officer.
I really am going to miss this room. It's funny, I didn't actually spend a lot
of time here but it feels like I've lived here all my life. This place had somehow
become a real home, my first home. It was here that I was no longer alone.
My head bowed with an unfamilar pang in my chest, I pick up my battered old
suitcases in either hand. Somehow in the months since my arrival I've managed to
acquire a lot of new things since both of them are overstuffed to the point where
I'm afraid that they might burst out if they're jostled too heavily. Even the pack
on my back is straining at the seams and without the assistance provided by my magic
it is doubtful that I'd even be able to lift any of them, let alone all of them together.
