Evangelion Alternate Guardians For Shinji

Shinji as raised by one of the most badass couples in Existence:

Yeah. Satsujinki (future <a href='http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Tohno_Shiki' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Tohno Shiki</a> with his eyes turned Up to Eleven) and <a href='http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Arcueid_Brunestud' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Arcueid Brunestud</a>, supposed to be one of the strongest beings on the PLANET when she's at full strength.

Ignoring Shinji himself for a moment, how well would the Mystic Eyes of Depth Perception work in LCL/through a viewing screen, and would his ability to "kill" anything work on an Angel's AT field?

Could Arcueid solo an Angel at full power?

And would Shinji gain Mystic Eyes or learn to be a magus? Or would he just be a total Muggle that can compete with more powerful beings?

And so in retaliation for a company being stupid (gasp! say it ain't so!), you're going to torpedo fanfic ideas?
No, in retaliation for a company being stupid, I won't buy their games.

Also, I didn't "torpedo" the fic idea, in fact mine was simply an aside regarding Mir being justified or not. I merely stated my opinion on that. It's not my fucking fault that Shiakou can't take a diverging opinion and decided to throw a hissy fit. Go take it up with HIM.

If you call someone expressing a diverging opinion and the other guy throwing a fit "torpedoing an idea" on behalf of the first guy, then I assume you also think murder victims are the ones who should be put on trials for their own murder?

Seriously, DKG. Stop smoking pot, it's rotting your brain.

He told you he wasn't interested in debating the point. That you and he had already had this discussion before (and I vaguely remember this indeed being the case). You continued to bring the topic up until he got sick and tired of dealing with the fandom and dropped the idea. Thus, it's your fault, not his.

Just ignore him, DKG. Either they don't like the idea or they want to discuss something else; either way, there's nothing to be gained by arguing with them. And don't worry, I didn't kill the bunny, I just <s>put it in the back burner</s> tranqued it for awhile. :D It's probably for the best anyway as I haven't played the second game yet so I'm not as familiar with Mir's new characterization as I'd like to be.

I like it for the awesome factor, but I'm not sure how it would flow in a story.

Shiki's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception are unique to him. (IIRC, only one person per world can have them.) Arcueid's Mystic Eyes of Enchantment are vampire-specific.

I think that Shinji might have a weak version of the Eyes of Purity (maybe all Eva pilots/candidates have them and the Nanaya clan had them as well). Eyes of Purity allow the user to see supernatural or hidden things. It could explain Shinji seeing that apparition of Rei at the start of the series, and would also let him distinguish supernatural beings (angels, demons, hybrids) from normal humans.

Of course, since none of the other Eva pilots have been trained to use their eyes, they wouldn't realize this, only Shinji, thanks to Arcueid and Shiki, would understand what he is seeing.

Shinji with Nanaya training and Eyes of Purity would be bad-ass even if he's completely normal otherwise. The Nanayas were baseline humans and yet could take on demons.

Crimson Moon Arc might be able to solo an Angel, but the Crimson Moon is practically an Angel itself, on par with Adam and Lilith. And of course, different Angels have totally different levels/kinds of power.

...

Gafgar. Reread the last few posts. Please note how my 'continued to bring it up', as you call it, consists of:

1) me posting once.

2) him responding.

3) me posting to say that while he's entitled to disagree with Mir's stance, he can't deny that humans in AT are dicks, and more than likely brought a large part of this mess on themselves (which is the truth, and if you deny this, you've been playing another game - about the only decent humans in AT are either in the party or are Ayano, who fails at being a judge of character for leaving a maniac like Bourd in charge of things).

4) him going on a 'lolno KILL THE IDEA BECAUSE I CAN'T STAND DISAGREEMENT' fit.

That's it. It barely counts as a 'discussion', since it literally happens over FOUR POSTS (two each).

It's not him 'sick and tired of dealing with the fandom', it's ragequitting. Sorry, but I won't take responsibility for a ragequit.

Oh, and by the way? My initial post, the one that Shiakou went 'we had this discussion already' over?

IT WAS IN RESPONSE TO YOUR POST, DKG. Not his. YOURS. The one about Mir and Reyvatelia being retarded.

I wasn't even addressing him directly. Just saying... <_<

Note the length of point three compared to the others: you're still bringing it up! We know! Humans in Ar Ciel are bastards! Humans everywhere are bastards! You don't have to mention it!

Ignoring the current argument, I came up with another idea: Shinji as raised by Indiana Jones.

How this works is that, while drinking only once didn't make him immortal, it gave him a much longer lifespan, and resistance to injuries. After all, how else do you think he was able to survive an open-air G-force tester (the rocket thing) and getting Nuked with only a fridge for protection? Not being affected by the radiation? And Indiana was able to do all sorts of crazy acrobatic stuff when he was in his 60's, back before modern medicine really made a breakthrough? So he'd probably make it to 115-150 years of age.

Anyway, moving on, I am not quite sure how this would affect Shinji, except him maybe getting involved in stuff that would make NERV's jaws drop. Also, I want Indiana Jones to take the place of Shinji's class teacher. He would be SO awesome in that role.

I know that Shinji raised as a Time Lord has been suggested before. But what about someone...well...ok I'll stop pontificating and say it.

Shinji raised by Vallerie Frizzle.

How about Shinji being raised by a lumberjack? Perhaps one like the Lumberjack Song?

Shinji raised by Gomez Addams.

The Addams family is a emotionally healthy and well-adjusted family, something Shinji desperately needs. They're just strange.

Shinji raised by Alex Mercer aka the Blacklight Virus.

Which would raise some interesting questions when the kid realizes that the man-eating mutant virus is the single most decent person he's ever met in his life. For all that virus!Mercer can be brutal to his enemies, he will go out of his way to do what he thinks is right in the end, up to and including being more of a brother to Dana than the actual Alex ever was.

Zouken Matou makes everything worse for everyone involved.

How about Shinji raised by Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden?

Or Iwakura Lain?

Originally after hearing about prototype two I figured Alex being a decent being had been torpedo'd. However, recent intel suggests that he turned Heller secifically to use him as a weapon against BlackWatch. Ruthless, yes, but Heller was looking to die after the death of his family, so Mercer gives him powers, a purpose and a better target for is wrath.

I'll have to beat the sequel first, but thee's a distinct possibility that I'll work on something involing boh Mercer and Heller taking turns raising Shinji.

Also, I'd love to do something with the characters from 'Real Steel' but nothings coming to mind at the moment.

Alex in prototype is a decent guy sure not a hero or even anti hero but in the end does the right thing. shinji is pretty much in good hands with him

Shinji raised by Tony Stark, movie version.

Why? Because <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg8l_MvMH8Q' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>this</a>, that's why.

None of them would last a minute in that culture. Humans are small and shrimpy and can't take the measliest of crumps on the head. They ain't orky enough.
