Rukia bit down on the frustration to growl in her Inner World. The same blasted wasteland as before with her Zanpakuto's spirit leaned up against a rock. As always he was shirtless, showing off tattoos under his flame patterned red cloak. The same angular oversized sunglasses "Oi brat, finally willing to listen?"
Really he wouldn't be out of place in the furthest reaches of the Rukongai, though his attitude did faintly remind her of both Renji and Shiba-san. The same confident air and certain parts of the world could go fuck itself if they couldn't stand them. "I have been listening, you just haven't been saying anything intelligent." Normally Rukia wouldn't have snapped like that, even before the adoption she tried not to make waves in the academy. She even half drew her sword before realizing what she was doing.
Her Zanpakuto just grinned in a very frustrating manner, "Oooh, puppy's got teeth. But does she know how to use them?" He sighed as she resheathed her blade. "You know, I didn't want to do it this way since you are a girl, but looks like we gotta do it the hard way. Rukia, grit your teeth!" The sudden blow was completely unexpected, lifting the shinigami off her feet as it snapped her head around. His next words tore it "Making me hit a girl, who the hell do you think I am?"
Something else snapped in Rukia, all the frustrations, all the whispers of being a "Rukongai brat", or about only getting her position because of her adoptive family, and she came up with a drawn blade and in full on attack on her Zanpakuto's spirit. And still the bastard was toying with her, not even bothering to draw the blade he was carrying! She was gonna beat that his name and that insufferable grin out of him.
"Yeah, that's it. Oh, almost had me there." There was a 'Thwack' as he used the scabbard to parry one vicious shot that would have gotten her thrown out of an academy spar, and unmanned him if it landed. "OH yeah! That's my Rukia! Come on, show me your fighting spirit!"
Rukia snarled, finally she had the bastard, only to find him gone, and she was holding his sword? The shock stopped her attack and rage cold. She felt him leaning on her shoulder, and looked to see him grinning at her. "There, that wasn't so hard was it? Finally pulling that stick out of your butt and showing the real you?"
Maybe it was the combat letdown, but suddenly Rukia's mind was blank, "Huh?"
Her Zanpakuto just grinned at her and flicked her on the forehead. This time it seemed, affectionate. "Who the hell do you think we are? The real you, you might play at being the purebred poodle, but those pampered dogs wouldn't last half a day where you grew up. We're Rukonai mutts, we might not have a pedigree, but when it comes to a scrap where those overbred bitches would lay down because it was impossible we'll fight on. We'll kick reason to the curb and do the impossible because we won't give up! Remember that no matter what you're family might say there's nothing wrong with being a Mutt and we'll get along fine. Forget it and I'll have to smack you again, no matter how unmanly it is."
Rukia looked up and laughed. He really was like Renji and Shib... Kaien rolled together. "So who the hell are you?", she asked.
Rukia blinked as he leaned down into her face, "I'm Kamina."

Just a plot bunny that grabbed me by the throat and wouldn't let go till I got it down. Pretty much Rukia's Zanpakuto is Kamina, either his spirit or possibly an echo caused by the AUs the AntiSpirals used against Team Gurren. At first I thought of replacing Zangetsu with Kamina, but Ichigo has plenty of ego strength, and he does hold the trophy for 'doing the impossible' in Bleach. Then I though, Rukia was pretty scrappy when she was younger, she had to be. What if that part of her didn't like being suppressed starting in her academy years?
Of course this poking her would have some major deviations from canon in Rukia's personality, though rather than full on Kamina MkII I see her as closer to Yoko in Episode 21, the proper Miss, but with a temper and an inherent dangerousness lurking underneath.
If someone wants to continue this let me know, this idea was just bugging me till I got it written down.
