While recently making a Top 5 of the fics that i'm desperatly waiting to be updated i came to quite a weird conlclusion .... I like younger man/older woman pairing .... A LOT , how is this weird you might ask ? Well seeing as in real life i like younger girls ( or the same age doesn't matter ) and that there are tons of mangas that i avoided because of this ... it's weird . Who can i blame for this you might ask ? First was Onegai Sensei , quite interesting in fact but then came the unavoidable fic-fandom , tired of the countless NaruHina NaruSakura Shinji/Asuka/Rei Ranma/Any fiancee i found a refuge in the unuasuall pairings between the hero and one of the older female characters . And now back on track: it wasn't until i read Master nin ( a fine wine from the cellars of Hawk (if you haven't read it you don't know what you have lost )) that i totally switched my preferences in anime fan fic pairings ( surprisingly many of them are extremely believable ) So what are my favorites now you might ask ....
Naruto/Tsunade >>> Master Nin , Onegai! TsunadeHime....
Keitaro/Tsuruko >>> Fallen Blade, Ships in the night ....
Shinji/Misato >>> Divergence, Alcohol: The Cause of and Solution to all of LifeÆs Problems
Ranma/Kasumi>>> Not as many as i would want them to be

And those are just the ones from the tip of the aisberg ... ( Not to mention the fact that i enjoy a good Setsuna/Ranma pairing whenever i have the chance )
Damn as you can see the blame rest also on the shoulders of some of the authors from this board

Well, I haven't gone over to the 'younger man/older woman' crowd yet. BUT, I do like a lot of fics with that very premise. This I could blamed on... Random1377 and Hawk mostly.

After all, Random1377 introduced me to Shinji/Misato and Shinji/Maya. Hawk was the one that introduced me to the wonderful world of Naruto/Tsunade and Naruto/Anko. Of course, all of these work since, well, the author kicks ass, and the older woman are all hot! :wub:

That being said, the vast majority of the alternate pairings I like... are around the same age group (difference of at most, a few years). Naruto/Sakura (I know a lot of people hate her, but I... um, don't. :unsure: ), Naruto/Ino, Rukia/Renji, and Keitaro/Mutsumi all fall in this category. And the more traditional way, older guy, younger girl like Keitaro/Motoko, Keitaro/Shinobu, Keitaro/Su, and Tenchi/Sasami are just a few of the examples of the pairings I like with an older guy and a younger girl.

Now yes, I know technically Sasami is older than Tenchi. But apperance ane behavior wise, Sasami (while certainly more mature than most people in her 'appearance' age group), seems to be quite young. And I'm still going on the theory that she was cryogenically frozen to mantain that age and so, while she was pyshically here longer, she's still the same age if she wasn't frozen.

So, after this long rant... what does this all mean? Well, you could simply breaking it down to... I like main character/any HOT woman no matter the age!

I found that I have had the same tastes as Moshulel as it comes to pairings. So it got me to thinking... Why is that the type of pairing I like? And this is what I've found out for me. The reason why I like those pairings is that they place the main character with a stable partner. For instance, in Ranma I like Kasumi because she is one of the most mentally stable of the entire female cast.

I have to admit it was Family Affairs by lighthawkdemon1 that got me to consider reading a fic that had an incestuous pairing. And of course Kei/Tsu ROCKS!!! :mmm:

So long as the older woman in question is hot, does it matter?

No one in their right minds (and suitably demented) will go against a Keitaro/Tsuroko pairing or the like. On the other hand, pairings involving Hina or Yubaba will likely get you shot.

I'm also lynching you for failing to mention the few other classics in the Kasumi/Ranma category. Such as Hawk's The Smallest of Actions, Jeffrey Vasquez's Little Things and Ozzallos' Not a Clue.

Go HERE or HERE for a number of other Kasumi/Ranma fanfics.

Anyway, I enjoy ODD pairings. And yes, most of the pairings you've listed are odd, so I do like them. But then again, I also enjoy pairings like Female!Ranma/Kuno, so long as it's not done in a certain way.

Yes unfortunatly i'm quite well placed in the camp of Sakura haters .... In rest i encountered a couple of good fics with the other pairings mentioned but still it's hard for me to favor one of them to those mentioned before ( dunno why) since those pairings have a special charm around them ... ( Or it might be the fact that the fics i read ( and i get selective there ) are excellent )

Well i guess one or two of this fics are acceptable AS long as they're quality readings , can't say i like them though ... but then again i have my own weird preferences as well

Oh btw i remember a nice Ranma/Urd fic in wich Ranma losses his male side and is pregnant with Urd's child .... Forgot the name though ....

Lol don't scare us i don't think it's actually posible for somebody to do such a pairing pluss she doesn't apear in the manga ... ( If she did i'm actually afraid we would have seen this kind of pairing ) So fortunatly/unfortunatly ( depends how you look at it

) we don't have that pairing

Actually, I believe she makes a brief appearance in book14 of the manga.

I am sure that someone is or has entertained such a notion somewhere. He/she just isn't depraved enough to attempt to write it. Yet.

But when all pairings are finally exhausted, who knows... -_-

Oh, they're quality, but I wouldn't recommend them if you can't stomach the bizarreness of those pairings. Iris and Happily Married are the two that are most depressing and... realistic? All the others are more humorous takes, but still somewhat serious.

I can actually get behind this one as well, since a surprising amount of the fics featuring this pairing are actually worth a read, unlike most of the ones where Ranma ( either male or female ) is paired up with anyone else from the male cast of R?.

It's almost as if some of them are ( Gasp! ) written by people who've seen more then fourteen birthdays pass them by and have actually had a relationship with something other then their own hands.

Well my aversion to this pairing might come from a fic i read a long time ago ( which made me to put all Ranko/male pairings in quarantinee )

Words of wisdom ideed Lol . Ya it really makes a difference to actually have a relationship on your hands in writing fics ( although sometimes i can't understand her arrghhhhhhh, nevermind )
