I remember reading an AMG fanfic a few years ago where Keiichi was portrayed as having a hard life in general and was downright hostile towards the Goddesses and their "magic". I thought it was on FFnet, but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone remember this story or what happened to it?

I'm not 100% sure this it it, but your description reminded me of this piece, so I went looking for it. The story is named "Orphaned" written by icefire, and it can be found from "this link".

It's not very long, though, but it fits what you're looking for.
