Batoto is shutting down.

Was one of my top manga reading sites too. Really liked its tracking feature.

Dragon Ball Super is being replaced by GeGeGe no Kitaro on April 1st.

The show is going on hiatus, or ending. It's not clear which. Fuji has stated that there will be more Dragon Ball, but have not said whether it will be more DBS, or if it will be a new series. No details have been given regarding it.

GeGeGe no Kitaro is another new adaption of an established franchise with some interesting history.

It is the original fanged girl/yaeba anime and manga. It's also the series that is credited with popularizing yokai in manga and anime. The manga was published in 1960 and the first anime adaption started broadcasting in 1968, with another in 2007.

Fans of anime yaeba/fanged girls take note, Neko Musume is the OG fanged girl who started the trope in anime and manga.

The original purpose was to remind viewers/readers that she has a mouth full of sharp teeth, but people associated it with yaeba and a trope was born.

Yaeba itself is actually much older than that. It probably originated in Okinawa and is old enough that no one really knows when it started.

GeGeGe no Kitaro is just the first instance of it being a thing in anime and manga. It's also why the trait is often associated with exuberant and energetic girls with cattish qualities.

Past adaptions have been cute and fun, so it should be worth checking out.

That could be it, but it doesn't seem like it to be honest.

I think it's just a case of the current arc ending.

It's not clear if the series is ending and the next Dragon Ball thing will be a new series, or if it will pick up again and still be Super.

There is no set date for it to resume. They only said there would be more Dragon Ball in the future.

They might replace her VA, or just write her out of the show. I'm honestly not sure which I'd prefer. With a show like Dragon Ball, the could just de-age her or something along those lines with a botched wish to make an excuse for why her voice changed.

Personally, I say we push forward in Dragon Ball to a time after Goku and Vegeta...or go on a universal tour with Miria Trunks.

That and the movie. Movies have a way of draining resources away from TV shows. It was better for the show to be put on hold. And I say on hold, because Dragon Ball is making too much money for there not to be a TV show again.

Netflix is producing a season of 15 minute episodes for Aggressive Retsuko.

The original shorts are amazing by the way. It does a better job of combining death metal and adorable than Baby Metal does.

I also think it should be required viewing for anyone working in an office and be included as a part of orientation training.

Steins;Gate is now available on Crunchyroll.

Great time to check the show out if you've not seen it yet.

Persona 5 and more Lupin? At least there's something to get excited for this season.

There's more of interest than just that for most.

Steins;Gate 0, more Amanchu [a yuri love story about a girl and a scuba diving muppet], Boku no Hero, several sports anime, Caligula Effect looks like an interesting mix of Angel Beats and SAO, a new Cutie Honey, High School DxD, Hoozuki no Reitetsu is seriously underrated, SAO gets a spin-off, Fist of the North Star gets a prequel, Nobunaga no Shinobi S3, plus a few dramas and originals that might prove interesting.

Seems like a fairly strong season to be honest.

It's just my opinion. Aside from Boku no Hero, and maybe FMP Lupin and P5 are all I'm interested in. Everything else, either isn't descriptive enough to catch my attention, is a equal to something I disliked or is focused on an element I don't particularly like (Yuri and Incest).

If you like them, more power to you.

I know, that's why I said "for most". I'm not arguing that you're wrong, I'm just pointing out that in general this will probably be seen as a fairly strong season.

It's got a good mix of returning shows and original stuff, plus two shows from Studio Bones, which is the only reason I'm even mildly interested in Hisone to Maso-tan, the other being BnHA.

I've really only got one Yuri thing on my radar for this Spring, and that's Amanchu. I don't expect the Yuri to be very strong, and I'm more interested in it because Kohinata is basically an anime Muppet.

Plus, a couple of returning classics in the form of Cutie Honey and Fist of the North Star, which could go either way.

That isn't saying everything is interesting. Several shows appear to be paint by numbers rom-coms, plus the monster girls thing Shiyan Pin Jiating does seem like it may run on incest. Could be interesting if it doesn't, but I don't expect it. If it's more Demi-chan than Monster Girls, I'll probably watch it.

Comic Girls is also a show that looks less than interesting that I might give a shot. It's a done to death formula that probably is nothing but a vehicle for yuri.

I am interested in Caligula Effect, but that could also easily be terrible, but could also be great.

The sequel to the Netflix Godzilla movie could be good. It's said that it will feature Mecha Godzilla.

Piano no Mori isn't a BL anime. It could be an interesting drama.

I'll give the SAO spinoff a shot, if only because it doesn't star Kiritio and may be an interesting use of the world. I don't have high hopes for it.

Not that into sports anime, but the genre does have a lot of fans. I may check one of them out if it gets enough buzz.

Hinamatsuri has potential. Not familiar with the source, and the premise is nothing new, but if done right it could be good.

Golden Kamui could be an interesting adventure anime.

Dorei-ku might be decent.

There are a few others that may have potential that I don't have high hopes for.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu is underrated black comedy. I've been looking forward to the rest of the second cour.

Plus there are a few shows that are continuing from last season.

Overall, it doesn't look like the greatest season ever, but a fairly strong one regardless.

The poster makes me think of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san for some reason.

I'm pretty sure it's a parody of the E.T. poster.

Oh, I know that. It just feels like the type of thing Nyaruko-san would do.

I started watching that, but never finished it. It wasn't because I disliked it or anything, and I don't even remember exactly why really. Pretty sure I was distracted by a game release or something along those lines.

I really should watch it all the way through, but I would have to start over as it's been so long.

At any rate, Hinamatsuri does seem like it might have a similar sense of humor, with a less wimpy male protagonist. The MC the psychic girl ends up with is a gruff if clean cut Yakuza and not a high school student.

That alone gets it bonus points for not being the usual high school boy meets girl with powers who moves in and attracts a harem thing. It's high up on my stuff to watch next season list.

It does seem to have a Mob Psycho 100 vibe going for it as well, which could be good or bad.

Bulma's VA has been recast. The new actress will be Aya Hisakawa, , who has voiced a ton of recognizable characters in video games and movies including Skuld in A!MS, Lisa in Bubblegum Crisis, Ami/Sailor Murury in Sailor Moon since the Sailor Moon R movie, Minamo in Azumanga, Xianguha in Soul Calibur, Retsu in Bleach, Yoko from Devil Hunter Yoko, and a lot more.

She will appear in the last episode of DBS before they go on hiatus as the character.

Here she is in the role in a commercial for a household cleaner if you're interested in what she sounds like:
