Not so much news, but an Answerman article on the differences between Anime!Japanese and Regular!Japanese.
I've been told I sound a bit like a TV announcer when I speak Japanese because I enunciate everything a bit too much.

I do have a good grasp on casual polite speech and not sounding like a ten year old thug though. I'd be completely lost in a very formal setting, but can communicate with normal people pretty well without coming off as sounding like a rude tween. Generally Japanese people understand that foreigners who speak their language don't necessarily 'get' formal speech. They'll correct someone who is speaking in a rude way and put up with it pretty well if the person seems unaware, and will usually give them the benefit of the doubt unless it's obvious they're trying to be a jerk.

Mostly, they accept semi-formal casual as polite when dealing with foreigners. It's how we usually learn the language to begin with as it's the most commonly used format for daily life.

I have an American accent that I'm told is not nearly as heavy as most Americans and am better off than most who learned by way of language courses. I have been told I'm actually easier to understand than most foreigners because of how I enunciate everything. I sound a little odd, but it's not a bad habit because it forces me to speak clearly.

Cardcaptor Sakura is getting a sequel anime soon. It has been officially confirmed and will reunite the core cast seiyuu again.

It's going to be an adaption of the manga continuation Clear Card Arc. Madhouse is handling the new series.

One Punch Man is getting a second season next year, and Cardcaptor Sakura is a sequel and the original was done by Madhouse as well.

They've done several multiple season shows in the past, Black Lagoon, Hajime no Ippo, Death Note, and Chihayafuru have multiple seasons, movies, and OVAs all done by Madhouse for example, and they aren't the only Madhouse shows that have multiple seasons and side projects like movies and OVAs. They've been in business since the 70s and have probably done more than you think.

It's a fun meme joke, but isn't really true. They do sequels, but it's worth pointing out that they are mostly contractors for animation that get hired by manga publications, especially in recent years, and have little to do with the decision of whether to continue a series or not.

I get that you're probably mostly joking, but just wanted to set the record straight.

Need to add the CCS: CC manga to my 'To Buy' list. Really enjoyed the original series.

Speaking of Black Lagoon, I really wish Madhouse could do a third season, taking what story is available from the manga (before the author crapped out) and just give the series a proper ending.

Never happen, I know. Still wish.

Attack on Titan S2 is in rush checking stage. Meaning it's basically done.

A rush check is when you put all the scenes of a film in numerical order and watch through them to make sure they fit together logically and flow properly, something that can't really be done with individual scenes. It's not the final stage of editing, but the step just prior to that, meaning all animation, audio work, and the task of actually making scenes is done. It just needs to be cut into the final edit after the rush edit is finished.

Great season coming up from the look of it, plus some of the movies look interesting as well. Plus, a new OVAs for Yuyushiki, Fate/, Strike the Blood, Detective Conan, To Love Ru Darkness, Baki, and Saber Marionette J.

They're animating Akiba's Trip? I've only played the second game, so this might be interesting. And KonoSuba S2 gonna be good, if the novels were anything to go by.

Just to nitpick a technicality, it's already animated if it starts airing next month. That one and Konosuba both are on my watch list this coming season.

Shonen Tantei-Dan is something I'm interested in checking out. It's basically the Japanese equivalent to Sherlock Holmes and is based off a series of novels that started in the late 1930s. It's not a pure adaption and will have a sci-fi setting, but still seems like it might be cool. The Man With 20 Faces is the antagonist, who is basically the Moriarty character from the series.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, ACCA is also something I'm interested in checking out. A lot of the people involved with both Space Dandy and One Punch Man are involved with the production.

More Gintama. Can't hate that.

Another season of Rankugo sounds pretty good as well.

Rewrite is adapting a couple of the good [well, better] ending paths.

Little Witch Academia seems like it might be a decent show.

More Tales of Zestiria the X as well.

There are a few other shows I might give a shot, but those are the ones I'll definitely be checking out.

Don't get too excited, it's a recap movie.

Should still be cool and if nothing else will be a nice jump in animation quality over the show, but it's basically just there to get people up to speed for season 2 before it airs.

It does look like a fun show. Especially considering it's the same guy who wrote I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying and Komori san was Kotowarenai. I'm totally checking this one out when it airs.

Demi chan getting an anime is also pretty neat, though, there isn't much in the way of story out yet for that manga. It's done a bit of backstory for the girls, but nothign that screams '12 episode anime series' to me.

Great manga though, for the way it presents them. Succubus-sensei is my waifu.

They haven't announced anything, but it's widely thought that it'll be next year. Probably Spring or Fall.

This movie basically confirms it, because there's no reason at all to do a recap movie for a series like this unless there is a second season in production.

They also won't want the S2 premiere to be to long after the movie is out. The entire point of a recap movie is to get viewers up to speed.

According to the Toonami tumblr page, they're also airing the DBZ Kai run of the Buu Saga. I thought Kai was meant to end after the Cell Saga...

Wonder why they decided to do the Buu saga as well?

Probably because characters and elements from the Buu saga appear in Super.
