Implying it would be rather easy, honestly, and probably just as effective.

To be honest, 9/10th of harem leads are honestly boring, uninteresting sorts. Many are straight up mary sues, and few seem to actually do anything to earn so many females affections.

That's done intentionally actually.

Harem shows are always about the girls more than anything else. The "MC" is pretty much always just a stand in for the viewers and made to be normal and uninteresting. They are almost always designed to be blank slates from the start.

It doesn't hurt that a good portion of harem shows are based off of or inspired by dating sims.

Oh, I know, but it makes for trash storytelling. Granted, the 'transported to another world' genre is by far worse. Those are stright up wish fulfillment by the authors most time. I can probably count on one hand the number of interesting ones i've seen to date.

I actually even once thought up one, but beyond a setup i'm not sure where to take it. Trying to avoid the major negative tropues of the genre is kind of rough.

Man, it's been a LONG time since I thought about Houshin Engi. Didn't know Killing Bites was getting an anime either.

How the hell did Dagashi Kashi get a second season?

That's not a hard sell as it's basically a half hour commercial for junk food done in SoL format.

It's better than it should be considering that as well.

I'm waiting on Gate 3 or index/railgun 3... Would not mind a Umi no Misaki anime.

It will probably be Gate 2 as there's only been one season. It was just a split season.

There also isn't really enough material for a Gate S2 yet.

Word is that there is interest in doing another season once there's enough source to make a season's worth of anime. Of course, if the author takes too long, that interest will probably die off.

Seems like it's got a decent shot of getting done though.

Index S3 has already been announced, but probably won't be until sometime next year. Probably later next year as it sounds like production only recently kicked off.

I seriously doubt we'll be seeing Railgun S3 anytime soon. Though I wouldn't count it out either, especially if Index S3 does well. Probably not for at least a couple of years though.

People love girls doing girl things, so Railgun S3 is practically guaranteed to happen after Index S3. I just wonder how much will they actually cover and hoping it will not be too terribly adapted (I still get angry at skipped Kaori vs Knights action).

There's the whole arc which tells a lot about Misaki and her involvement with Misaka and Touma both, ending with forced Level 5.5 Misaka going berserk, and whichever arc is currently ongoing.

Not a bad lineup all things considered.

If I didn't prefer subs, I might have watched a night or two of this.

I could not conceive of watching anime off cartoon network. But then, I remember first hand what they did to the early anime they showed. I still remember the early attempt at doing the Tenchi series, grimaces.

I'll stick with a mix of Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, and buying anime...

'Rurouni Kenshin' creator Nobuhiro Watsuki charged with child porn possession

According to the authorities, Watsuki possessed numerous DVDs with nude footage of young girls in their early teens, and stored them at an office in Tokyo at least as recently as October.

In his deposition, Watsuki allegedly said that he "liked girls in late elementary school to around the second year of middle school."

Authorities searched Watsuki's home as part of a different investigation, which linked him to the purchase of DVDs with child pornography.

Well, it isn't that surprising. The main romance of his most popular work is of an older man and a young woman in that ball park.

After a successful Kickstarter project to finally bring Riding Bean to Blu-ray, the next kickstarter from the same group is to do the same for Gunsmith Cats.

Winter season chart is out...

Pretty meh season overall. A couple of interesting returning shows, but not much of interest that's new.

Kind of expect the "Honey badger don't give a shit" meme to return due to Killing Bites if it is even moderately successful.
