I for one, am doing it. A shot at 5k in regionals, and then 75k in globals... HELL YES!

Me and my 2's partner aren't that great at arenas so I'd rather not shell out money just to lose.

I competed in the first one way back in TBC but meh. We had some nice progress, made it top5 within the ending I guess, but in the end it was too boring. The cash involved just makes everyone take it too serious for there to be any fun, and the next thing you know there are scouts, counter-scouts, drama and all sorts of bullshit.

No need. It's just not worth the effort. Especially for us, who didn't really have cash to travel to the regional competitions (they were in Germany I believe,) nor a sponsor at the time to take us there for free. Besides, our warrior and priest came from NL and was not allowed to compete in the LAN :p

I don't play wow anymore either way, but I wouldn't want to go through that again, sponsor or no sponsor to carry me to the regionals.

That was _the first_ one though, back when 5v5 was the bracket of competition and not 3s as it is today.
