In any case, thought this pretty good.
Was surprised on one item though. When in the timeline this occurred. I thought for sure that it would have been after her initial stay at Hinata, not before even meeting Keitaro.
The main issue with that is how would she have even recognized the rocks, it certainly never seemed that Tsuruko had been there at least while it was a dorm.
Additionally, if she knew that the work was older than 5 years, it could well have predated the Hinata changing from inn to dorm, thus meaning it could have been drawn by *any* person attending the inn.
In any case, thought this pretty good.

But even knowing the landscape was the inn narrows it down a ton. Surely there are guests books that would record the name she could ask Haruka or Keitaro about. We know from canon such records exist, at least for the Annex part.
Given the name is fake though, I'm wondering how she eventually stumbled across the identity. ether she finds who is selling it, or she finds some other drawings of Keitaro's.

Glad to see this idea getting some keyboard love Raa.
I like the take on Haruka, she's not the completely cold "pass the buck" aunt from canon, neither is she the somehow caring yet detached fanon version. Her knowing about Orateki and helping Kei deal with his feelings about his sketches and his perceived quality of them.
Tsuruko is refreshing as she isn't forcing a KeixMotoko situation, and seems genuinely interested in why that Orateki sketch fell into that rich guy's hands. The Emperor bit seems more than a little shocking, but that could help light a fire under Kei... if he was lead to see his own art from someone else's perspective.
I'm interested in seeing how the Hina Girls cope with what Tsuruko's "plans" are, something tells me that their prior experiences with her have left them on the defensive, if not with a slight hair trigger about her usual shenanigans.

After leaving her cousin to rest, Haruka sought out Shinobu to put her mind at ease.
“Is Sempai going to be OK, Haruka-san?â€
“He will be, Shinobu-chan. He’s just feeling a little run down, that’s all,†the smoker replied with a smile. She glanced at the newspaper and saw that there was an article on a recent sale of artwork. “Wait, is this today’s newspaper?â€
“Yes, Haruka-san. I was reading about that Orateki sketch,†Shinobu said, missing the look of concern on Haruka’s face. “Naru-sempai mentioned it to me earlier.â€
“Hmm,†Haruka nodded as she scanned the article for details. “It doesn’t say who unearthed it, just who bought it and how much they paid for it.â€
“Yes,†the Lolita chef nodded. “Orateki-sensei is so mysterious, no-one knows anything about him. He could be living next door to Motoko-sempai’s family for all we know.â€
“That’s true,†the smoker nodded absently. She looked at the picture of the sketch that had been printed. ‘That’s definitely one of Keitaro’s.’

As Raa commented... the girls rarely listen in on Kei, unless the have something to be suspicious of him.
If anything, only Shinobu is and should be concerned at this point, and that's her Modus Operandi... caring for her Sempai
Naru wouldn't bother with him unless its for studying (pre Toudai), she rarely notices him being derpressed.
Kitsune, for all her plots and shenanigans, tends to keep her nose out of other people's business... unless there's lulz/money involved.
Motoko wouldn't bother him unless it's a situation where she needs a handyman/manager.
Kaolla... she'd probably be the only one to actively pester him, but she'd be knocking on his door to get his attention.
