Motoko took a deep breath. “I... I think Keitaro might... that he might be ill. Like organ failure ill.”
Hmm. Well, it's a reasonable supposition. After all, his organs are inside him when he gets impacted by fists and feet and wood and rocks and advanced Molmolese technology and...

I wonder how long it'll be before they jump to that conclusion. It's even kinda-sorta correct, in that they're responsible to varying degrees for a lot of the stress he's under. Just probably not the most recent straw.
He should have had organ failure the first day, considering ho much force it would take to propel a standing still object such as a human through walls and out of the property, to them go into free fall and than an instant stop upon impacting cement and the like...
Well, yes, but they clearly didn't think of that, back then. Now, they're being hit with the idea that he's not totally invulnerable, perhaps they'll consider it.
Not only that, but also, they wanted to kill Keitaro in the first few chapters of the manga. When they realized it wasn't actually going to be all that easy, since he suffered multiple major injuries that would be fatal to other people, they assumed he was immortal.

Oh, yes, this is very much a fic I want to see more of! :D

I missed this.
Nice to see you writing for this fandom again Raa.
Would be interesting to see Keitaro hospitalized with an ulcer due to stress, Would really set the cat amongst the pidgions.
Magic 8-ball states much confusion and hijinks ahead.

Do want more, especially if we finally get a confession out of Keitaro instead of more wacky harem hijinks. Because that would be Injustice, and That's Terrible.

Now all we need is Su overreacting with delving into medicine/magic and Shinobu pretending to be strong by suffering in silence crying into her miso soup.

Weird... I got the impression they were going to go to a *different* tea house.

I like this story. I apparently haven't been paying enough attention and missed it. I like the idea of Tsuruko encouraging Keitaro with his drawing.

Where could it go? Hmmm.. Once Keitaro opens up, Tsuruko decides that maybe stress relief is needed. Since he likes to draw she offers to be a model as an outlet. How MUCH of a model can be left open for a while. She gets him to draw her on the promise that she or her family would never sell it. See the hijinks that forms when she placed a framed and signed drawing of herself in their room for Motoko to see, but not telling her where it came from.

Maybe some of the girls think she's providing a 'different' form of stress relief and decide to help... individually of course... at first. Then as his stress ramps up, because Naru gets more and more frustrated because she feels he's violating them and she can't beat him to make herself feel better, they decide it may need to be a group project.

Maybe he decides to draw the ladies when they're at their most serene, like napping on the couch or in whatever they laze about doing. The unsigned pics start showing up in the Sou, leading the girls to think they have some sort of stalker, because Keitaro couldn't be THAT good, right? Shinobu may be the only one that recognizes it since she's seen his drawings before, but decides to keep his secret. But they appreciate the art, nonetheless.

Or mix the two ideas.

Or maybe a different venue... say a family dojo? If going that route, they could agree to put him up for a specified time, agree to silence on the identity, and as a reward, agree to buy any one sketch he made of their dojo, and further agree it is not to be sold, but revert to him, should they ever tire of it.... and use *that* to girnd the face of the ass in the dirt with.

If it is *that* type of drawing, it could be a private rendition specifically as a gift to her husband... I think she is married in this story. Maybe not.

But if the girls, or specifically Motoko, find it, I could see them searching for the perpetrator of such a crime by grabbing every person in the district and shaking them for information.

Note though, this type of plot may well not work, simply from the standpoint that isn't this version of the master artist supposed to be famous specifically for the scenery arts, not people? Here is the quote.

His work includes landscapes, portraits and still life, mostly in the medium of pencil sketches, however he has been known to try acrylics and oils.”
Of course, that does not mean he *can't do people, after all, we know he did Shinobu and others in canon... merely he was not known to have sold any under that pen name

I think Tsuruko's widowed/divorced in this. Raa kept referring to him in the past tense. "He was..." I'm sure he was leaving the option open for a Kei/Tsuruko pair. Ah, Here it is:
There was some... friction at home. Motoko-han didn’t react too well to my husband. He was a good man, please don’t misunderstand, but looking back, it seems that Motoko felt he’d stolen me from her.
‘That was done years ago, that’s Haruka-san in the hot springs... If she found out that I’d drawn her while she was in bathing, she’d kill me! But who could’ve found that sketch?’
This kind of implies that Haruka is in the picture, but earlier it just talked of an arm reaching out to be helped out of the spring. So which it is needs further elaboration I guess.

I could also see his first released drawings of people being worth huge amounts as the "firsts" if they're done well.

I was assuming it truly was just an arm in the picture. Not the person. Otherwise Tsuruko may well recognize Haruka upon sight.

As for the rest, both approaches I presented could still be used relatively unchanged. A tasteful self portrait makes more sense for Tsuruko to request even if in her own bedroom, or if she wanted to show it off (perhaps to either family or the arrogant snot), but she could go for a daring one if attempting to make moves on him. Maybe even a more sophisticated in between look... elegant and publicly presentable, yet still seductive...

Ahhh... the sultry Kimono pose. That would work. Kind of imply to the arrogant snot that she actually had a... ahem... "working relationship" with the artist.

Or perhaps more daring... say her kneeling or sitting on a bed or mat in a good pose, and a set of sheets wrapped strategically around her... showing nothing, yet enticing none the less...

Really, there are tons of possibilities in that.

Cool.

“Of course, anything portrait of you that Keitaro produced could never be put up for sale...”
Looks like a sentence where you changed wording halfway through.

any portrait of you...

Personally I'd go with her dressed in a classy/elegant kimono while strolling about in the Hinata Sou or hanging out making/drinking tea in an oddly lit room... playing with shadows to the point you can barely tell it IS Tsuruko, let alone identify Hinata Sou; but focus more on the scene, not the person or the place (like Haruka's "Onsen" sketch).

As for the Hina Girls... it would be funny if they got jealous that Tsuruko suddenly appeared and started acting all chummy with their perverted manager, to the point of her hanging on his arm and giggling like a school girl (while boosting Kei's morale). Only to be taken by Naru/Kitsune/Motoko as "oh my god... he IS dying!" and feel some odd moral obligation to throw themselves at him... only to get admonished by the elder Aoyama sister.

Problem is instinct... Dying or not, their first reaction to Tsuruko and Keitaro together will be

'OMG he is a pervert for hitting on a 'older woman'/sister... Keitaro smash....'

Of course... that is not going to go over well with Tsuruko if they were obtuse enough to do that with her present.
