I know this s crazy, the idea just popped up a minute ago and I thought I'd see what you guys made of it.
Does anyone remember back in volume 26/7 where the heavily injured Guts is riding on the Skeleton Knight's horse through the hole in reality after that whole business with Slan?
Well suppose he fell off and, through admittedly forced circumstances ends up landing in the verdant spirit world of Avatar, which promptly vomits him out near a Fire nation camp.
A camp containing Azula.
Guts is captured and brought before Azula but not before he can show off his fighting skills.
This and his appearance intrigue Azula, ignoring Ty-lee's warnings about 'scary auras' she has his wounds dressed and, eventually, promises to set the firenations mystics to helping him find a way back (lying trough her teeth) should he help her capture the Avatar.
importantly she takes his Behelit.
So Guts is forced to travel with Azula and her entourage and hunt the Avatar.
But something else is happening, The Brand of sacrifice which binds Guts soul to the Godhand, coupled with the stolen Behelit are acting like a link to the astral plane of Berserk, allowing it and the Godhand to slowly seep into the Avatarverse's spiritworld.
This reaches the point where the spirits themselves are being corrupted and petition the Avatar for help, splitting Aang's focus between the very real war with the fire nation and his day of blacksun deadline and the swiftly growing war of the spirits.
So, any thoughts?
