Evangelion Been looking for this one for a long time...

Alright I'm trying to find an Eva fic that I read a long time and now cannot seem to find anywhere. It had a grown up Shinji who had been married to Rei and they had a daughter but something happened to Rei and everyone thinks she's dead but Shinji (who is a great deal like the Commander now) has been keeping her body alive ina tank of LCL though her soul has been lost. Gendo's still around and seems to want to redeem himself by caring for his granddaughter who Shinji doesn't seem to want him to get near to, this may be due to the fact that she has an uncanny resemblance to Yui. Shinji is using Asuka in much the same way that Gendo used the Akagi's once upon a time. Asuka, believing Rei to be dead, wants to settle down with Shinji and encourages his daughter to call her mother, though Shinji always becomes angry when she does, but Shinji is just using her as a hold over until he can bring Rei back. It's a very dark fic, lots of angst.

If anyone knows the title of this fic or can even maybe point me in the right direction I will be infinitely grateful to you. And while I probably described it horribly it really is a well written fic.

YES!!!!! That's it, oh thank you so much, after all these years of searching I've finally found it again, god I've been looking for this one for so long I can't believe I've finally found it again. God I must have been looking for this thing for somewhere on two years now. And no wonder, it was on Media Miner and not FF.net the whole time, which is most likely the reason I couldn't find it. I remember this fic! I didn't read it in its original form, but I read it when Zentrodie did a pretty hilarious MST of it.

Reading through the MST...pretty weird story. Good though, in a dark and creepy way.

Definitely in a dark creepy way, but that's just the way I like them. I just finished re-reading it and...wow, just wow. I have to say that this pretty much epitomizes everything I want in a fic. I suppose it just makes it better when you've been looking for it for a few years now, and remembering what you can of it from vague half-forgotten memories. You tend to build up an idealized image of it after a while which normally causes people to feel a large let-down when they finally find what they're looking for but this was everything that I remembered it to be and so much more, now I'm probably going to re-read "So happy Together", best ShinjiXRei ever...period, this 'Kimberly', whoever she is, is without a doubt an excellent writer, or maybe it's just something in her writing that brings out certain sides of me that rarely ever see the light of day.

Interesting. Maybe I should check it out. Though from looking at it, it seems that "So Happy Together" is a fairly light hearted story compared to, "Obsession". Whoa. Talk about a complete 180 there! Not that I have anything to say about it since my work is just as varied in a way with light comedy here (Vallient Shinji), and a really dark story there (Brother's Keeper).

Though to be honest, I was a little weary about reading it when I first came upon it (the only way I stumbled upon it was by Zentrodie's unique MST version of it. If you know Zentrodie, his MST are a story of their own). Now that I look back on it, it was pretty good, dark and twisted story. It might have also been a dark subconcious influence for my work as well given that I now almost prefer a little darkness! Hehehe.
