I'll admit to watching most of the series up to the end of Frontier (All english dub, I'm thinking of finding somewhere to watch the stuff subbed and what i haven't seen, but that will take time). I'll admit I missed chunks of Frontier, mostly after the Royal Knights started showing up, but I'll give my opinions based on what I can remember...

Adventure01-I was a kid when I first saw this, not even ten I believe, if barely over. I liked it, but it seemed a little silly to me at times. It had a nice, light-hearted, if rather sudden start, but damn the thing got kinda dark for a kids show later on. The characters seemed kinda flat (Nerd, jock, girly girl), but got a bit more developed, not much, but still.

What stands out: I will admit, the memory that stands out the most is Izzy watching Angewoman and LadyDevimon slap fighting and saying something along the lines of "I'm not sure if I'm allowed to watch this." Right before Kari tells her digimon to 'Knock that witches block off"

Adventure02- I was a bit older at this point and had a crush on Yolei (I liked a girl with glasses, and still do). Some of the characters seemed sorta better. Davis seemed annoying at times, but mostly the Kari love stuff, otherwise he was kinda cool, Ken seemed either crazy or whiny (And, as I said, as a kid I crushed on Yolei, so he eventually earned my young hatred), Cody was cool, and seemed to develop a bit more than some others. Kari and TK seemed kinda...cardboard-y sometimes, as I can remember.

What Stands Out: I don't what to be a lemming and say the Dark Ocean or Daemon...I think it may be the expansion of Digimon, showing the others in other countries was kinda cool.

Tamers: I was in an awkward point in life and, now, crushed on Renamon. Anywho, not much I can say that hasn't been said, character development was great, I especially liked the points early on where the link between Tamer and Digimon was a lot more obvious, showing one as an extension of the other (The tamers feeling their digimon's pain).

What Stands Out: Oddly, MarineAngemon. The first time a mega-level is a starting partner, and it was the first mega digimon card I ever had (Actually, I may still have that card...)

Frontier: As I said, I missed some chunks, but I liked it...kinda. The lack of partners confused me (Mostly because I didn't see the first half-dozen episodes until half way through the season), but the idea seemed kinda cool, having the chosen kids actually doing something, but that sorta went away later on when most of the kids lost that ability so two could level up to fight (Kinda cheesed me off).

What Stands Out: Aside from the lovely southern drawl Ranamon got in the dub? My favorite part was actually seeing Takuya de-digivolved to Flamon. I would have actually liked to have seen more of that with the other kids, maybe a crisis of their humanity/whether they could ever go home or something like that when it happens. A good opputunity that it seems like nobody thought of...Oh well...

Anywho, I guess I'd order things...

Tamers>Frontier>Adventure02>Adventure01

That's not to say 02 and 01 where bad, the others just seemed better to me

Just stumbled upon this discussion and wanted to add my two cents. I'm on my phone, so excuse me in advance if I'm more brief than I would like.

I've had the benefit of watching the digimon series more than once, especially at different points of my life. That's given me a better perspective on opinion on the series. None of them are completely perfect, but credit must be given where it is due. With that said, I've watched a mismatch of the sub and the dub for most of the seasons. That being said, I have season every episode of Adventure 01 - Savers/DATS (call it what you wish).

Now for a quick review.

Adventure 01 is unique because I will cherish it in my heart for the messages it shared/tried to impart. The devimon arc was very well done, and I actually liked the way TK was portrayed. The myotismon arc was great also. Wizardmons role in convincing Gatoman was interesting, if not a bit too rushed at the end. Regardless, Agumon's and Gabumon's mega evolutions were absolutely nuts for that time. The way the graphics were done completely blew my mind. However, the series fell apart during the Dark Masters arc. Matt was such a dick through the majority of it and the less that can be said about Sora and Mimi is better. I actually respect Joe a lot from it. I would say that between him and Izzy, they had the most growth as characters.

But how damn frustrating must it have been to be unable to do as much as Tai and Matt. The majority of the battles if I remember correctly were settled as a result of how stupid their mega digimon were. Heck, we saw MagnaAngemon like a total of 1-2 times. Overall conclusion is good.

02 was fine. The dark ocean, the new team. And digimentals were all fine. They got even better when everyone started collecting more than one of them. I think they could have done a better job by letting each other share their digimentals. Therefore increase marketing of more digimon and ect. The jogress digivolution was a bit of a savings grace, and I would have enjoyed it more of if we had a bit more omnimon. BlackWARgreymon vs wargreymon was disappointingly short. Overall conclusion: good not great.

Tamers: just awesome. Everything about it was awesome. I'm not sure how much needs to be said about it besides that. The character designs looked childish originally but man the story carried its weight. Bio merge dig evolution fed my dreams with awesome during this period of my life. Rika was an incredibly strong female character. Very well done. 5 stars.

Frontier. Oh man, so many mixed thoughts. On one hand I don't really care that they didn't have true partners in that sense because the humans were then responsible for carrying the wait of the teams. The first half was pretty damn good up until royal knights. That just became a repeat of 02 in the same way that the 02 team could never truly defeat blackwargreymon. But the digivolution methods fueled my dreams lrett heavily. How awesome was it to turn into a digimon, defeat your opponents, and take the powers of your opponents to supplement your own. Emperorgreymon and his counterpart were nuts.

Savers/DATS. What can I say besides Daemon Masaru and BanchoLeomon sheer iron balls carried the wait of the digital world. I don't care for adding more at the moment.

With that said here is my ranking.
Tamers
Savers
Frontier
Adventure 01
02
X-ross (because I heard it is shit)
