STAR WARS Episode 6.5: Beyond Endor

======================================================
The skies above the forest moon of Endor was alive with Rebel and Imperial ships of all sizes, from the tiny TIE/ln fighters, to the huge Mon Calamari star Cruisers, and, bigger still, the new Death Star.

Ignored by most of the combatants in the battle, a pair of Imperial-II class Star Destroyers held position a few light minutes behind the immense battlestation. These two ships were there as an insurance policy, in case the Rebs tried to be cute. To the untrained eye, these two ships were no different to any other Star Destroyer. As in everything, though, appearances could be decieving, and so it was with these two ships, the Irresistable and the Judgement.

======================================================
Captain Jeffery Hawke, Commanding Officer of the Judgement, examined the readouts that he was recieving with a frown. The Rebs had cottoned on to the plan much quicker than he had expected, and were using the Imperial Fleet itself to protect their ships. A clever move, Hawke admitted, and for a moment wondered who was leading the Rebels on this mission.

Suddenly, one of the techs in the crewpit beside him uttered a choked cry of shock.

"What's the matter, Crewman?" Hawke asked.

"Sir.... The Executor...." the tech faltered, as the holopit flickered. The entire bridge fell dead silent as they saw the Super Star Destroyer, the pride of the fleet, angle downwards, caught in the gravity well of the Death Star.

"Get to the lifepods..... Get to the lifepods..." Someone whispered, as the crippled ship spiraled down towards the battlestation. The ship slowly smashed into the station, exploding as the reactor overloaded.

"Oh my god....." Someone said softly, as the realisation came over the officers of just what exactly that meant.

"Lt. Kennyr, get me the Irresistable, now." Captain Hawke spoke to his Comms officer.

"Captain?"

Hawke sighed. If there was one person he did not want to deal with at this moment, it was his XO, Commander Daxtar, a pompous, self-inflated egotist from one of the Core Worlds.

"What is it?" Hawke asked, trying to keep his voice on an even keel.

"If the Death Stars' shield is down, shouldn't we move to assist them?" Daxtar said.

Hawke was silent for a moment, then shook his head. "Negative. Vice-Admiral Moore gave us very strict instructions." he informed Daxtar, as Captain Vahnke appeared in the holopit

"What's the situation, Jeff?"

"It's bad, Carth. We lost the Executor, and the Rebs have taken out the shield protecting the Death Star. I'm going to send the signal now. You'd better be ready as well, in case the Alliance gets ideas."

"Will do." Vahnke agreed, and cut the comms.

"Kennyr, give me an open channel, I think we'd better give the fleet the word."

======================================================

Admiral Ackbar was quite suprised, to say the least, when the engines of several Imperial escape pods that the Alliance were intent on tractoring in suddenly came to life and began to head in the same general direction. The Mon Calamari dispatched an X-Wing to investigate, and was again suprised to see what the X-Wing transmitted back: two Star Destroyers hanging in space, busily tractoring in Imperial lifepods.

======================================================

Captain Hawke was turning to give an instruction to one of the bridge crew when a blinding flash of light signified the Death Stars' demise. The filters on the viewports blocked out the worst of the glare, but Jeff still raised one arm to shield his eyes. When he lowered his arm, his eyes showed a decision he had made.

"Astrogation, lay in a course for Annaj. There's nothing more we can do here." he announced, before turning to head for his ready room.

"Captain, I must protest! We are running from the Rebel Scum." Daxtar suddenly blocked his way, his hand resting on the butt of his blaster pistol.

"Commander Daxtar, I would advise you to take your hand off that pistol, and do as you are ordered." Hawke said slowly. The entire Bridge Crew fell silent. They had al knew that this day would come, from the first moment that Daxtar had come aboard.

"I will not. As of this moment Captain, I am relieving you of your command. Sergeant, take him away!" he barked at the Stormtrooper by the turbolift.

The man did not budge one centimetre. In the silence that followed, Captain Hawke spoke.

"Commander Daxtar, I am placing you under arrest on the charge of attempted mutiny. Sergeant Carver, relieve Daxtar of his weapons and escort him to the brig."

"Yes, sir." The Stormtrooper said, grabbing the pistol from Daxtars' hand, and frogmarching him off.

There was a flash, and the Judgement and Irresistable jumped to hyperspace.

"Sir? Where do we go from Annaj?" The Astrogation Officer asked. Hawke didn't speak for nearly a minute.

"We need to ride out the storm, catch our breath. Once we get to Annaj, we'll offload the survivors, then plot a course for Talravin." A faint gasp filled the crewpits at this announcement.

"Yes, Gentlemen. We are going home."

I know it's a bit obvious in this story, but you still need to tell the reader what fandom you're writing for.

Star Wars huh? I like it as long as it's filled with Jedi lightsaber fights and fleet battles. I don't really read Star Wars fiction but this one really caught my interest. Two surviving star destroyers....It seems you'll be focusing completely on the antagonists, right?

Btw, are the Imperial star destroyers in any way related to the Old republic star cruisers?

These points.

Oh, and so as you know, these two ISDs are......... more like anti-heroes than straight out villains.

Somewhat, yes. The Ravager and the Leviathan were set up to appear as predecessors to the Star Destroyers of the Original Trilogy.

Edit: Didn't realise you were merely being a dick. What's up with you, Mercs? You're normally more level headed.
Maybe his account got hacked?
