Bleach [Bleach]Manga thoughts

So after the long time, and encountering actual good fics (IMO) of Bleach, plus playing the game and with Jump Force on the horizon I actually re-read Bleach, was better than I remember but my god I have many questions...

1.- Ok I kind of can accept the new lore of Asauchis being key to a Shinigami developing their own powers... But if that is true, what was Urahara thinking about the whole Encroachment thing? The first phase was for Ichigo to regain some reiryoku with a death or life situation, the second to acquire his Shinigami powers, but unless he had an Asauchi laying around what was he expecting to happen? And why didn't he actually put the finger on the fact that Ichigo wasn't using actual Shinigami powers if Nimaiya noted that even Renji knew that Ichigo wasn't a full shinigami.

2.- Isshin is a bigger white elephant on the room that we thought. So the novels shed some light on the timeline (one could argue that they are not canon but Kubo revealed the info so some of the things could be considered canon) So here is the thing, in the new semi-lore Isshin became the leader of the Shiba family after Kaien's death (some people argue this point) the "evidence" is that Isshin took a patrol on Karakura (a city under the 13th division) because they were mourning Kaien's death (Isshin even talks about how he wanted to confort Rukia but his mission made it impossible), so how the hell didn't Rukia recognize Isshin a freaking Captain living on the same roof that Ichigo, and now you could argue that she didn't actually recognize him, but Matsumoto or even Toshiro?!!! two people actually under his division and actually knew him personally, they were in the human world for many days to not actually met him (they even repelled two arrancar attacks).

3.- What was the plan of Aizen after defeating Yamamoto? Even if he managed to make it to the Soul King's Palace, I don't see any of the Arrancars surviving a bout with the Zero Division, and I seriously doubt he could actually defeat Ichibei, hell Nimaiya supposedly knows everything about all zanpakutos, so he should know how negate kyoka suigetsu, also he claimed that he wanted to rework the world, but we know that the process to make a Soul King is horrible and in theory he wouldn't be in any condition of changing anything.

4.- Apparently there weren't always hollow? Now this one comes from inference, supposedly Shinigami already existed in some form in Soul Society Yamamoto being the first to organize the band of "murderers" (we know Unohana was on the first generation and the drawing implies the healer guy was also there) so that means Ichibei and Nimaiya are actually older than them because they had Zanpakutos and the King was already created by the 5 families? Yamamoto founded the school 2,000 thousand years ago, but the seventh espada talked of only fighting Shinigami 1,000 thousand years ago, either way Yamamoto created the modern Shinigami to fight Ywach (who was born 1,200 year ago) and not actual Hollows. Other reasoning to my believe is the commentary of "Burn the witch" where one of the witches complains that the east branch simply kills all their "dragons" but in no place on Bleach we see any inference of actual spiritual activity beyond hollows (plus the whole 5 families betraying the king shows that we don't actually know all the truths behind Bleach)

5.- Was Ywach trying to liberate his father? The whole restructure that he was trying sound a lot more heroic after we see the implied process of the creation of a Soul King, plus we know that the form it works now wasn't always the same (my theory is that Hollows were born after the process of creating the soul king in the same way Ywach was born with the wish to destroy soul society).

6.- Are gods actually common? Because the Shihoin are guarding their treasures and the clan of Nanao have a weapon to actually destroy them, maybe there was an actual Pantheon? is the SK the same that Izagami?

I have other doubts but more based on concepts and timelines that actual storyline, my only wish now is that we could see a full powered Ichigo (Shinigami/Hollow + Fullbring + Quincy) on all his glory instead of the glimpses we saw, that some plot lines weren't abandoned and that Ichigo retained some sort of independence instead of being just a puppy following the lead, also sorry for the necromancy I just wanted to clean my thoughts and see if you have your own theories

The answer to nearly all of those is probably: Kubo didn't expect it to last past Rukia's execution, but it proved more popular than expected so instead of the obvious ending of it being Gin who actually killed Aizen early in the Soul Society arc then he and Ichigo fight and he's killed, now Aizen faked his death and manipulated the entire first three seasons and Ichigo has an inner hollow.

Bleach 686.5

You know what? I like Ichigo and Orihime's son a lot more than I ever liked Boruto. Kazui comes off as a genuinely nice guy.

Madarame still hilarious as always. Renji and Rukia's daughter Ichika who Madarame teaches is really cute, and got light dere undertones for Kazui.

The basic plot of the chapter is that 12 years after a Captain dies in battle, the Captains and Vice-Captains are supposed to do a ritual of capturing a live Hollow and executing it in front of the dead Captain's grave (the Vices do the capturing, the Captains do the executing). This chapter goes over the ritual for Ukitake himself, the rituals for the other few dead captains from the 1000YBW having been done previously. So all the Vice-Captains go into Karakura Town and meet up with Ichigo who is allowed to participate (but not fight). We get to see a few new Vice-captains, including a genki girl who is a gyaru, and who has ridiculous strength that can tear her enemies apart with her bare hands (and claw-fingers), and a mute guy who has carrion birds that strip the flesh from a Hollow.

In the process, however, Szayel of all people shows up from the dead, and oops, now the Hell movie is probably semi-canon. Not sure I really like the twist that Kyoraku reveals at the end that will set-up for who I presume to be the villains of this new arc.

It's...a little weird, seeing the Soul Society and Karakura town characters, especially trying to figure out who is who again thanks to new haircuts. Even if they had them in 686, that was only one chapter. I could barely recognise Renji and Rukia at first, that's how much it threw me off.

Thanks, i didn't even know a new chapter was coming out.
I thought there were only light novel now.
It was announced a few weeks ago in Shonen Jump we would be getting a new Bleach chapter. Then it came out and it's obvious we're getting an entirely new storyline, so yeah. New content

It's also on the VIZ site as of today.

It's pretty cool, and I REALLY hope it becomes more than a one-shot.

It looks like I jumped the gun in assuming it was to be more than a one-shot (it looks like lots of people did). In which case, wtf? Lead-in for a new movie or anime season that is TBA?

It would be a pretty epic level troll if it DIDN'T lead into anything, and was truly just some random one-shot.

Actually, something occurred to me. Does the idea that Yamamoto and the 1st division lieutenant go down to Hell even make sense? They were both killed by Quincy, and the whole plot point about being killed by Quincy is they can't return to the cycle (or in this case, they shouldn't have had the chance to go down to Hell).

It seemed to me that the 'Konso Reisai' is something incredibly different, what with it casting one into Hell. It might not necessarily play by previously established rules.

Hell is something special.

Yeah, but this special ritual thing would be a decade and change after the fact, where the Quincy killing Shinigami and preventing them from returning to the cycle would be instantaneous. Otherwise, if they could still do this ritual for anybody else even if they were killed by the Quincy, then the Quincy method of killing wouldn't be as big of an issue. Well, whatever. I'm still more curious to see if we actually get any new media out of this one-shot.

...I wonder if we'll get an extended ending in the anime, instead of the aborted ending we got in the manga? Here's hoping.
