Was anyone else salty when she died?

I was. Not just because my Unohana/Kenpachi crazy ship was rising, but because it still sounds stupid on why.
I had held out on the idea that she'd continue to survive, but never be able to be anything more than a healer as a result. Because, really, it's insanity to throw away a perfectly good swordsman with loads of experience and skill for a slightly better one. Particularly when dealing with an enemy that basically knew everything about your people, and that perfectly good swordsman is your number one healer! Not to mention, given what happened to Kenpachi afterwards...!

God, there's so much wrong with that entire story...

Yeah, it seems like those fanfiction authors who wrote stories with Yachiru being Kenpachi's Bankai or something similar were right. But, knowing Kubo, we'll never find out for sure.

Edit: Unohana being a killer may not have been properly foreshadowed, but the bloodlust she put out when someone defied her in her domain WAS a clue (not enough of one, granted).
Ukitake and Shunsui both feared her and called her like the third most powerful in Soul Society. And if we're being meta here, the super healer stands a really good chance of being a crazy badass killer in the past who turned towards the healing arts as some kind of atonement for a serious blunder.
'Serious blunder' is one thing. Unohana was a mass serial killer! She was more feared and reviled than Aizen and Yhwach combined.

Let's finish it.

The Thousand Year Blood War Arc: Part 5 (Chapter
615 - 686)
One day they will ask Kubo why took Bleach upon this dark path. Why he made something great and chose to drag it down into the much.

His answer?

Why was ichigo immune to aizen's illusions again?

Why did aizen surrender quietly to imprisonment again?

1)Because Ichigo had never seen Aizen's Zanpakutou the moment he released it.

2)That's obviously because it's playing into his real plan, which we'll never get to see because the manga is over. :evil2:

Couldn't he just release it again?  Or was releasing aizen's zanpakutou a one time thing?

By the time Ichigo became relevant, everyone was already on guard against Aizen and he holed himself away in Hueco Mundo. The next time they faced off, Aizen temporarily lost his Zanpakutou because of fusing with the Hougyoku.

At least, that's what I can think off the top of my head.

IIRC, Aizen had gathered all the captains and their vices together in one area to show them the Shikai. I would imagine that it's not something he can just flash off at a moment's notice -- likely, he can only affect/control one group of people at a time. To put Ichigo under its spell, he would have to undo the effect on everyone else first, but that means they'll no longer be under Aizen's control until he reacquires them with the release.

I don't doubt that everyone in Seireitei had seen his release - otherwise, it wouldn't take Unohana to realize that he faked his death. No, he probably showed people his Shikai in settings like the Shin'no Academy, repeatedly. It's just that the captains remembered what affected them, first. (Mass blind person disappearances, anyone?)

tl;dr: I seriously doubt Aizen has such a limitation. The limitation might be about closing their eyes, which would explain why Aizen didn't even bother with the human characters.

Why? Because it's Aizen? Granted, I'm hard-pressed to think of a Baikai power better than Kyoka Suigetsu (well, not unless I delve into Vampire: The Masquerade and Chimestry), but effectively it's not really outside the scope of reason for it to have such a limitation; after all, it's only Stage 1 of its power, and, thus, not nearly as powerful as it could be until it reaches Stage 2. Showing it off to people repeatedly isn't something I could buy, if for no other reason that, once the nature of his shikai has been revealed, it wouldn't be hard to connect the dots if he's popping it on the same folks every few seconds, and the last thing Aizen wants to do is to draw attention to himself.

And, um, yeah, Kyoka Suigetsu doesn't work on people who don't see its release, hence why he got Kaname Tousen on his side since he's blind.

I'm saying that he would have to show it to the entire Seireitei for his machinations to work, holding exhibitions every so often, for different people of course.

As for the blind person thing, I doubt Tousen is the only one in the Seireitei, so I meant that the rest might have had 'accidents', or quietly disappeared.

Remember when Kubo gave us some info about the war arc either right at the start or just before it? I decided to look back and see if there was anything that he never delivered on before the end:

  • Renji's bankai was meant to have already changed.
  • The chain on Hyourinmaru changed...but I can't even remember seeing that chain so I don't know.
  • He wanted to draw when Kenpachi became captain but was worried things would deviate from the main plot. Which makes me wonder if the Unohana/Zaraki thing was planned because that's obvioulsy the perfect time. And I suppose he drew Kenpachi confronting his predecessor but that was like one, small panel.
  • He wanted to draw how Rukia felt about becoming lieutenant and intended to do it through flashbacks. I'm glad he didn't because that sounds really boring.
  • Yoruichi's secret past with Urahara was meant to be revealed.
  • Isshin could not go to Soul Society with Urahara because it would reveal something to the Gotei 13 and thus did not go. Dunno what that's referring to.
  • The meaning of Ichigo being a true blood would be revealed. Which would imply that it's more than simply being the son of a Shinigami which we already knew at that point.
  • Rangiku's past was meant to be significant to the plot. Either this was bullshit or he was trolling people by referring to Isshin's past through Rangiku.
He also specifically refers to Zaraki's sword as a constant-release type that's in shikai state, the damn dirty liar.

We had also been told that Shikai can't be achieved without knowing the name of the Zanpakutou. Make of that what you will.

Of all the things mentioned, this could use the most explaining, largely because Rangiku was at Ichigo's house, where she could have seen Isshin, or at least sensed his presence (possibly). Even moreso, just from gathering information about Ichigo, Isshin's  existence should have been discovered. Now, I can infer that he didn't return to Soul Society due to that law that got Rukia put on the chopping block, but they shouldn't have been a crisis that requires hiding out like an traitorous accountant from the Mob. And, to be fair, Rangiku's history was sort of significant to the plot, in that Gin did what he did because of what happened to her. Which, I swear was the most oblique reference to rape that I've seen come out from a Shonen title.

Plus the whole "Isshin fought in Fake Karakura alongside Urahara and Yoruichi" thing.

And, to be fair, Rangiku's history was sort of significant to the plot, in that Gin did what he did because of what happened to her.
This is saying that her past was going to be a big part of the Quincy Arc though.

It was a big revelation, kinda. Which created a bigger plothole -- why was this not addressed earlier, given that Isshin's secret came out near the beginning of the Arrancar Arc? There could have been a number of moments that could have been addressed or touched on. Seriously, it could have given her a more significant role in the story, give her a level of growth and character development.

Of course, this might have been cut/altered for whatever reason, along with the entirety of Ichigo being a "pure blood" and the strongly implied angle of the Vizards being some kind of enemy.

About the "million of years of history" of the Soul Society ,used by Rukia and Ichibe, maybe it is a figure of speech like "you're 100 years to early" and which has the same meaning that the english "since forever" or "since time immemorial " or "for ages"?
I know that in Ancient Egypt, the symbole for "1 million" could also be used to say "a great number" and most scientists working on the hieroglyph think that the symbol used is also the symbol of Heh, god of infinity. Japan might have a time when million also had this meaning of very great number and its would have stayed in a figure of speech and a million of years or a million of years of history is equivalent of "since forever", "for ages" ,etc...

Oh gods that makes all the sense! I can't do anything either when I'm sick!
Yeah, being chronically sick is no way to live, especially when you're working as a weekly mangaka. I caught a virus ten days ago, and I'm still not 100%. The worst part of it is the lack of energy you have, since all those resources are dedicated to fighting off your illness. If I drew with Tite's hyper-energetic artstyle, I personally can't envision myself keeping it up at all.

But that letter, though... I just don't have any words to express anything about it other than THEM FEELS. With something like that in your mind, I can see where he got the strength to finish the series where it would have been loads easier to throw in the towel (sick all the time, beef with the editors, the weekly manga system in general). And, by hos own words, Tite did finish the story the way that he wanted.

As an aside, what's interesting is that Tite drew himself as Mayuri Kurotsuchi in his Thank You comic. Is that how he really envisions himself? Because we can talk on that subtext.

Dang. Man. While it sucks what happened, it's always great to hear a story touch someone's life and give them that extra push to continue just a little longer.

Yes. Unfortunately, some of a higher sodium level can't really see that, and instead choose to use it as "proof" of how terrible a writer Tite Kubo is for even daring to do things his way. Like, really, that is your takeaway from that message?

I would suggest kill 'em with fire, but their denseness would just act as fire retardant.

Some finally revealed bankai.

Shinji's:
Sakashima Yokoshima Happō Fusagari (逆様邪八宝塞, Wicked Inverted Blockade from All Directions)

Hirako's Bankai reverses the flow of cognition, movement, speech and also reverses the recognition of "enemies" and "allies". That is the power of the Bankai of Hirako Shinji's Sakashima Yokoshima Happo Fusagari.

As for hisagi's, it chains him to his opponent they share wounds until one's reiatsu's is drained and it also heals
