Created a recommended reading thread in Naruto, thought I should add some more in.

Feel free to add any others you think warrant being mentioned. Browsing only goes so far.

I think it's Tatsuki/Ichigo. I think this is how Bleach should have been, as in the manga, Ichigo and Tatsuki don't seem that close, despite the fact that they've known each other the longest.

Moderator action: Added '[Bleach]' to thread title -chronodekar

I definitly like the Tatsuki/Ichigo pairing, but as for why they're not closer I've had my own theory on that.

After the incident with Grand Fisher that cost Ichigo his mother he was searching the area for her for days afterwards. In that time I think Ichigo wanted someone to reach out to him, but not his own family, he believed it was all his fault and expected if not wanted his own family to hate him.

Tatsuki was to young to understand how to reach out to Ichigo and when Ichigo stopped searching that's when his personality changed.

At that point Tatsuki no longer really understood how to speak to Ichigo, because she wasn't able to help him before he changed. They still remained kinda friends, but lost the closeness they had when they were younger.

Cue Tatsuki meeting Orihime later and Tatsuki takes it upon herself to help her in the way she failed to do so for Ichigo.

Of course it's all speculation and just my opinion.

IchiTatsu and HitsuMatsu are, by and far, my favorite pairings.

There, now stop bitching. Why don't YOU look for good stories andlist them for US?!?! HUH!??!?!

Eh... 5:30 AM is an angry time...
What? I did recommend one. Its just a sad sidenote that I don't like 9 out of 10 bleach stories posted on FFN.

And those I like are usually already posted here.

But here's another one of the "Short and loveable" ones.

Already posted that. Quite some time ago.
Took some time to find this one:

Twenty Ways to Die
There's more than one way to die. Each of the shinigami has learned this the hard way.
1.) Whoops, my bad :/ Came across it yesterday when browsing through some authors favourite authors, who, in turn, had it in their favourite stories.

2.) 20 ways to die makes me want to bawl my eyes out everytime. It just strikes a chord of sadness in me :( (and I recommended it in the general Recommended Fanfiction thread, too :D)

Here's an excellent Bleach/Ranma crossover (best one I've seen so far)

'Pale Horse' by Tail Kinker (5 chapters so far)

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3681721/1/Pale_Horse
An ancient technique: Will its mastery will allow Ranma to control his curse? Or will it instead split his soul in two? Only a mysterious, darkhaired stranger can help Ranma walk the path between sanity and death...

The characterisation and dialogue of that was really high quality, Dumbledork, but every other japanese phrase - both from Bleach and Ranma - was mispelled in some way. Zampakto and Jushenkyo, for example. Not enough to ruin the fic, but not in keeping with the otherwise excellent quality of it. :sisi:

I agree. But generally I'm more interested in the quality of the story.

I revive this thread with the power of Ulquiorra's freaky tear-marks!

Some of these are already in the general section, but some aren't. Enjoy.

-

Setting Sun, Rising Moon

Ichigo dies, goes to Soul Society, is being groomed to be a captain, and Rukia is actively avoiding him. IchiRuki, mostly serious but with bits of humor. Personally I like it a lot. A bit low on the action tho.

-

Uninvited Guests

Crackfic where the 11th Division's barracks burn down and they end up crashing at the 10th's. Hitsugaya's white hair turns even whiter. Hilarious.

-

Soulborn

Orihime apparently sealed Ichigo's powers (and his memory to boot) at the end of the war against Aizen, and he lived to be 121 before he died. Now in Soul Society he's a kid with amnesia. The Vizard take him in.

People seem to like this. Personally I found the dialogue a bit stilted and overly formal - everyone talks in pretty much exactly the same manner, even the Vizard, who're about as close to informal as you can get. The constant flashbacks are a bit jarring.

The reference to Ichigo's hollow as 'The Other' is pretty neat, tho.

-

Old Soldiers

By the authors of Uninvited Guests, a fic about drinking partners. Goes against canon (the characters know about Aizen's real shikai) but it's good enough to make up for it, IMO. The ending was gold.

-

By the Sword

One of the Twenty Truths fics, which are entirely too addictive for their own good. Outlines the rules of living in the 11th Division. Good humor.

-

It's Good to be Gangsta

Another 20 Truths, this time about 'the Thugs' - Ikkaku, Shuuhei, Iba and Renji.

It eventually came to pass that Yamamoto-soutaichou had to address the issue of the four of them never backing down from a dare. This, of course, happened when Iba spent five minutes attempting to feel up Soi Fong. The captain general wouldnÆt have gotten involved in it except that Iba swore up and down that he couldnÆt find her breasts and Soi FongÆs subsequent reaction to the claim.
Come on. Give it a try.

-

Excessive Chain

A look at what might've happened if Rukia's powers hadn't come back. Might be a bit angsty for TFF, which seems to specialize in harems and boobs, but I'd give it a try if you like Ichigo and Rukia.

I'm glad ya linked the 'Setting Sun, Rising Moon'... I had thought that was only on the author's LJ, and I hate having to check that always.

As for Old Soldiers... That story was win. Very much win. Especially the ending.

The Night They Drank Old Dixie Down

Fuckin' hilarious. Reports from all 13 Divisions as Shunsui and Matsumoto go on a tour, drinking everything that's not nailed down.

2nd, 9th and 12th Division reports were priceless. Slight mention of yaoi in the 3rd Division's report, but nothing graphic and it certainly doesn't detract from the hilarity.

The author's other works are good too if you don't mind yaoi - which I don't, but I know a buncha people here do.

That was great. And not only because I love these listtype fics... :D

(as for yaoi in the 3rd: Kira would like it. The guy is the ultimate uke.)

9th was fantastic.

So was 2nd.

12th wasn't as funny to me, but 11th was. Poor Yachiru. Not even allowed to drink : (.

I know I wouldn't.
