I'm going to assume that Inuzuka lady married into the clan or something because her missing tattoos annoy me. Why would you ignore their most distinctive feature?

And chakra blades are old news. Gosh, back in my day we even had chakra shields.

They could at least have picked a different name too...

You are mistaken. You posted examples from Sasori's and Chiyo's puppets. Not exactly something easy to do.

Katasuke's weapon is basically the Colt Paterson. No training required, hell from what we see no need to actively feed chakra, and you have a quite high-level chakra weapon.

Walking on walls, flying and prosthetic limbs are old news too. The whole point of their ninja technology research seems to be to automate ninjutsu that normally takes months or years to learn to use effectively so that even civilians can do them with no training.

Maybe the tattoos are only for ninja and Akita is a civilian member of the Inuzuka clan? Regardless, she's pretty cute... and she doesn't dress very professionally for a scientist.

Kiba's family is the Head Family of the clan... did we see Inuzukas with marks from outside his family?

Another possibility is that they did fall out of use over time.

I also don't see how Akita wears unprofessionally

She's wearing high heels and a tight sexy dress with a high thigh slit and low neckline. That's an outfit for a fancy party, not while working in a research laboratory.

Apparently Toneri's in this episode. Coughing up blood and stuff.
He managed to build artificial eyes for himself.
First thing he did, he went on NaruSaku.com

Also, Cute Nue is Cute

New episode and... we learn of what happens after the end of the Academy!
Graduated students can (try to) become Genin, keep studying or getting a job: graduating from the Ninja Academy is seen as a sign of the person being talented and competent so Academy graduates are quite requested in the now more peaceful ninja world, and getting a "civilian" job is seen as a perfectly reasonable(and safer) alternative to get in the military becoming a Genin

Man why is Boruto such a sulky stick-in-the-mud? Naruto was a more more interesting and endearing main character than this brat.

I like that they are redeeming Katasuke's character. He's actually a pretty cool guy.

Wait, how does that chakra blade work? Boruto activated it by just pressing the button when he didn't know what it did, so he definitely wasn't kneading chakra. Does the handle suck chakra out of it's wielder against their will? That seems unnecessarily dangerous.

The Fire Nation has an air defense network?
One step closer to the old Air!Naruto stories becoming canon.

And well yeah, the second you develop airships you develop a way to counter them.

...aaand now the first test of the chunin exam is the written test of the Academy Graduation.

And Nue is still a cute.

Next episodes are:
- end of the exam
- making of the teams
- Mitsuki's gaiden

Those last two were a good pair of episodes. It was nice seeing Kakashi and Anko in action (Konohamaru was meh).

Seriously, when it's not adding things that annoy the unholy hell out of me it's a decent show even if it's not interesting enough that I bother watching every episode. Naruto: Next Generations feels something like the sequel we should have gotten from Kishimoto if he'd just taken a break before getting back into Narutoverse for real without messing around with a movie, couple Gaidens and letting someone else do a manga adaptation on top of that.

Lol, I think that overweight Anko is more badass than she ever was when she was young and fit.

Has Anko ever actually performed a jutsu besides summoning snakes from her sleeves? Aside from that suicide/assassination jutsu she attempted to use on Orochimaru but aborted at the last second?

Is that seriously an Otsutsuki clan member with horns that look like a headband who fights with a fishing rod. Why.

What a bizarre character design. Is this going to be another villain like all the other Otsutsuki?

He was meant to be the third villain in the movie so yeah. And he's based on the Urashima Tarou, the fisherman.

Now I really want to know more about the OTsutsuki clan. An extraterrestrial clan of extraordinarily supernaturally powerful dimensional travellers who seed planets with God Trees and return later to use them to suck the planet dry of all life force to further empower themselves and become immortal (Kaguya was apparently an anomaly who decided to settle down on and rule the Earth instead of destroying it). Where do they come from? What is their homeworld like? Why are they all so evil?

They also pass their powers to the next generation by letting their children eat their parents.

I think it's less "they are evil" and more "they don't care about not-Ootsutsuki"
