Why is the Naruto sequel being drawn by a pedophile?
Imagine if we could send this post back in time to the New Naruto Chapter 421+ at the end of 2014. So much mindfuck for our naive past selves.

Why is the untrained scientist going with them on a dangerous mission to investigate a missing ninja squad? To test his prototype battle suit in live combat? No one questions this? I mean yeah he actually does pull his weight, but absolutely nothing he's done before now has suggested that he's remotely competent in a fight.

Wow they walked into the most obvious trap ever. Let's just walk into the middle of this crowd of clearly undamaged puppets lying on the ground, I'm sure they were all destroyed by our sensei in ways that aren't visibly obvious and aren't just playing dead and planning to ambush us!

So these puppets are actually androids. Really dumb androids that just shoot until they overheat and shut down. And which have creepily human teeth. I don't like them, they really don't fit into the aesthetics of the Narutoverse.

Also Ao has a gatling gun now. I'm not sure I like the way that technology is completely overshadowing ninja magic in the new manga. This doesn't feel like the same universe anymore.

I was thinking the same thing. I can understand choosing to emphasise technology now that the setting has moved decades into the future but it's too much, too fast. The Kote wasn't a big departure from the norm as it was just a weaponized version of fuuinjutsu for sealing and unsealing offensive ninjutsu.

This Narutoverse just feels...weird.

Edit: Personally I would have like the idea spreading the knowledge and use of chakra to the wider masses, enhancing the daily life of average citizen. Like medical ninjutsu in civilian hospitals, farmers with earth jutsu, sailors and firefighters with water jutsu, builders using chakra enhancement and wall walking etc. So similar to what the Sage of Six Paths was trying to do but with less hippie share-our-feelings crap.

Yeah I was mostly alright with the Kote. It does feel like a natural development of fuinjutsu - they already had scrolls that could seal away ninjutsu and armbands that could unseal shuriken, so it makes perfect sense that someone would eventually figure out how combine both of those features in a glove. It feels a bit too powerful to me as it's basically replicating a Rinnegan jutsu (I'd prefer if they needed to create more specialized versions that only work on certain kinds of jutsu, or maybe a limited storage capacity) but it's a logical progression of previously seen ninja-tech.

I suppose you could argue that these cyborg looking things are also a logical progression from puppets, but it's too big a leap. These things are either creepy looking electronic automatons powered by a chakra battery and controlled by a basic artificial intelligence program, or they are some kind of cyborgs created by modifying living human beings (which would explain the human-like teeth and mouths that seem to have organic tissue in them). That's a huge leap from primitive wooden puppets that are controlled entirely by chakra through a chakra wire connection to a human operator. It just doesn't feel right to me.

Mitsuki's Gaiden got animated.

They expanded on Orochimaru vs Log some and Mitsuki's Sage Transformation was a helluva cooler. Though I was reminded of how dumb that philosophical chat at the end about light, darkness and crap felt.

Suigetsu continues to look dead inside, knowing all his ambitions have come to nothing and now lives as an assistant for the man who once kidnapped him. What a sad dude.

And apparently Log kept putting differents things inside that container with each attempt which sounds like the whole "send Mitsuki to Boruto because reasons" was just done on a whim this time around.

Now some gifs...

He's a Chunin. He might be rusty(arguable), but he's a trained ninja

I'm going to guess they are still developing the proper protocols for experimental weapons testing on battlefields. Also, he's the big boss of R&D, deciding when a weapon needs\can get field testing it's likely among his competences.

Autonomous Ninja Puppets are evidently something new.
This side of the Moon, at least.

15 years is a long time... try to compare 1990 and 2005.

Yeah, it surprised me because back reading the chapter I thought OROCHIMARU was the one putting Boruto's file inside.

So today I discovered something else the anime decided to throw into the mix:

As a child, Yagura took part in the village's barbaric ritual where Academy students would be forced to kill each other in order to graduate.

AoMythology

Apparently a report-er
Considering Zabuza's age and what happened to Rin, I had already been pretty sure it was the Third or the Second Mizukage who started that tradition (and no, Madara likely wasn't involved).

IMHO it was the first Mizukage, it did seems a step-old tradiion

That tradition was the origin of Kirigakure's nickname as the Bloody Mist - predating Obito's involvement - which Mei (and second fanbook) directly associated with the Fourth Mizukage's nightmare reign.

Though I double-checked the scene in question and it seems more like a flub or misintepretation:

I'm reasonably sure masked guy is quite dead.

Also, New Team 7 is horribly powerful and their teamwork is SCARY.

I bet Konohamaru let THAT MAN unharmed so he's spread voice of Konoha being STRONK.

Is that guy blind? How the fuck did he miss Sarada when she's flying directly at him like a missile and completely unable to dodge? It's not like she's moving so fast he couldn't react, he swings too early!

Sarada used the Sharingan to dodge, by twisting mid-air at the latest second so he couldn't react in time.

That GIF clearly shows him swinging before she even gets close enough to hit. And spinning her body the way she does wouldn't be able to dodge an attack from the angle he strikes from.

If that's really what happens then the animation completely fails to depict it accurately.

surprise character, this episode.

I wonder if there are people who didn't watch the movie\read the manga and what they'll think at the chunin exam

Return of the Gif

Unpredictable Ninja up in this bitch.

Oh, and the manga updated.

Sooo... as of latest chapter, Mitsuki has Purple Lightning, too.

That's... weird. I wonder if he did learn it by watching Boruto using it? "Payment" for helping Boruto with Wind techniques?

A few interesting info this week:
Konohamaru doesn't know Mitsuki is Oro's son

Kage Bunshin cannot copy complex machinaries, not even just as not-working dummies.
Koji Kashin summons toads.

i'm ded. BNNG enjoys trying to make filler into canon way too much. Now Kaguya's innacurate backstory from the historical filler arc is a thing.
