First, to clarify the above title: A breakout role usually means something that makes the actor become famous; when they mostly did minor roles before.
This...is not that. Or rather, not STRICTLY that. This is a thread for identifying actors, and what roles you associate most with them, usually because of what role you first saw them in.
To demonstrate with an example: Pierce Brosnan. I associate him with James Bond. To me, he IS Bond. To see him in any other role is just...jarring. Now I'm sure there will be loud protests that he isn't the "best" James Bond, or that he "sucks at the role", but...Goldeneye was the first James Bond movie I ever saw. Funnily enough, it was also his first role as Bond. The second Bond movie I saw was "The World is Not Enough, followed by "Tomorrow Never Dies. Also, the N64 Goldeneye game was a big deal for me. And speaking of games, Pierce Brosnan was Bond in one of my personal favorite Bond games, Everything or Nothing
So anyway, there's your example. What actor do you see in a specific role more than others?
