Casualty list?

Not particularly. A bit, but not much. If anything, it was just one giant manipulation pile-up. First you had Pein, who was being manipulated by Tobi-Not Madara-Obito, who was manipulated by actual Madara, who had been manipulated by Zetsu.

While the White/Black Zetsu thing wasn't exactly foreshadowed, I actually thought that part was a cool twist that he wasn't a creation of Madara's but his manipulator.

You can't discount the end of the Harry Potter Series either. There was a huge dip in forum activity as that series ended as well. While most of the forums had steady traffic, the Harry Potter and Naruto threads were the most trafficed.

Then why did Madara think he had created him? Did he somehow alter Madara's memories?

Madara was experimenting with Hashirama's DNA, trying to merge it with his own. Zetsu allowed him to believe he had been created from those experiments. Zetsu was the oldest living being at that point and was an adept manipulator. It was implied that he'd been manipulating the Sage's children and their transmigrants over the years, keeping them at war with each other so that he could bring back his mother and get revenge on his brothers.

Honestly, Zetsu's origins get a little fuzzy. That was never properly explained how he truly came about.

I do think there were hints of the Juubi before it arrived. They did delve briefly into the connection between the Sage and the Bijuu and how the whole concept of Jinchuuriki came about. Kaguya was more of a way to tie the Sage, Zetsu and the modern shinobi together as a way to resolve everything at the end.

Honestly, my only major complaint was how the whole Sasuke thing was handled.

Yeah, none of them were really foreshadowed. That, plus Madara just tanking absolutely everything. Though there were a ton of people who correctly guessed Tobito and a Ten-tails.

Y'all remember the Haku debates we used to have, or just in general. Good timeas.

I still tend to think of Haku as being female. As feminine as Haku looked originally, the later flashbacks make him look even less masculine.

At this point, far as I'm concerned, Haku is whatever gender you want it to be. And if Haku isn't, there were enough broken jutsus by the end of the series that I'm sure an Oiroke that permanently changes gender wouldn't be too farfetched.

Though I will say...I remember seeing way, way, way back in the day (not on this forum), somebody posted a screenshot of anime Haku's fingers with his index fingers being longer than his ring fingers as proof Haku was a girl (since females typically have longer index fingers, and males longer ring fingers). What absurdity lol
