Centering - How do you turn it off

Looks like you switched from MyBB to MyIPB.

How do you get rid of the centering... *Everything* is centered (descriptions, comments, posts, titles, etc).

It makes navigating this place 20x harder, and I shudder attempting to actually read a story that way.

I did solve my other far less important problem... peoples stats are now again properly off to the left, not plastered to the top of every post, which was massively disorienting on top of the centering.

How do you mean? I can't see anything centering on my side.

I'm not the only one with the issue either, someone, I think Dumbledorf, asked about this on the original TFF...

I also have centering. It does make it more difficult to navigate.

Have you tried another browser? I've tried FF and Chrome and they both work fine. I dunno about the others.

Btw, How'd you get the profiles moved to the left?

I suppose that could fix it, but I despise both of those.

I just noticed that the last post section on the main index is not centered. Some align left, some right.

Edit: I found a way to change it. Go to edit options in the control panel, then change the theme. Click Use Default and click on Default, the one above Nostalgia. Oddly enough, the two defaults are not the same. Nostalgia seems to be the same as Use Default. This will also change the colors a bit.

Much better. I can live with a slight color change. Odd, the title is again MyBB instead of MyIPB.

Now, if they can only correct for the post screen comment box issue...

The new theme looks better than this one though. The buttons are classier. I suppose we could keep checking to see if they fix it, but I doubt it is a high priority.

Honestly, I like this blue one better.

Quotes are easier to see and the font looks bigger.

There is probably one out there that has similar good points but looks nicer. Though just making new buttons would be easy enough.

Font size is easy to alter, just edit the zoom on the site. Easy way to do that is press control and then scroll with the mouse wheel slowly to get it to a size you like. The site should automatically make sure the zoom doesn't break past the horizontal scroll point and realign everything, so the only downside is huge images get huger, and even then it's a simple matter to zoom out then back in as needed.

The Quotes however I agree with, as well as the fact that it lacks the return to top option at the bottom, useful since we're also missing the link to the section current section in this part on the bottom of every thread:

« Next Oldest · Next Newest »

At the old TFF there was a link to the section in the middle of those that made for faster browsing to get back to the now updated section you were just in. Not a huge issue, but throws me off since I got used to using that during casual browsing. Just having a search option now is already a massive upgrade as is.

Did you mean Nostalgia is missing that link? Default (blue) does have it at the very bottom. It's in the Contact Us panel.

Do you mean return to content? That's not it, that also returns you to the top far as I can tell. No idea why when there's already another return to top but it's what it's doing for me.

Edit: Doublechecking, it actually returns you up to the first post on a page as opposed to the ACTUAL top. So not exactly the same but still pretty weird.

Sounds like we need a better theme- head over to the theme discussion and try to find some.

Return to Top is what I was using. The second link, thefanfictionforum, goes to the main page, which is also handy.

Oh right, I see where the confusion started. Return to Section is missing from both, return to top is in default but not Nostalgia was what I was saying.

Nostalgia though is handy with the Sub section links on the main page. Though it is slightly annoying that it only shows two and says there's one more when the majority of sections have 3 subsections and the one that's missing is Talk, which is most used. Really both have their ups and downs, and hard to tell if we could find a theme that gets the best aspects of all of them without mucking about in the actual code.

I know about that, but I´d rather not have to zoom in whenever I enter the site.
Maybe Opera saves the zoom the site was in, but I never tried.
