After seeing all the Sakura hate that is prevalent in the naruto section it made me wonder what harry potter fans think of Harry Potters first girlfriend.

personally i think Rowling really dropped the ball on this coupling and frankly i prefer it over the canonical harry/ginny

I tend to agree with you about Cho. In reality it wasn't until after the article came out that she finally knew exactly what happened to Cedric and Harry was to close minded to look outside of himself to realize that there were other people that had a right to know what took place.

Then she stands up for her friend like Harry would do and he blows his stack before she can talk to him rationally. It really could have been handled better but it seemed Rowling wants to make Harry a naive dunderhead who doesn't even know the basics about girls, yet spends so much time around Hermione that it seems almost impossible aht he hasn't picked up something.

I tend to think of Cho as just an ordinary girl who got dealt a real bad hand and then got in a relationship with the wrong person (Harry) at a very very very wrong time. I think their relationship was probably doomed from the get-go but I hope Cho doesn't come to a bad end herself. I don't read her as a bad person; just a touch naive.

In a better world there would have been better circumstances but the world isn't always a nice place.

While your first statement has merit, the bit about Hermione is ridiculous. She was well on her way to being a complete social outcast, and avoided that fate because of Quirrell letting a troll into the dungeon. In Fact using her to learn about girls is probably the reason Harry was so bad with them, Harry's dialogue with her about Cho suggested that as well.

quality harry/cho...hmmm...unless you want some sappy romantic crap from way back when, only ones i can think of are the works of LT2000 and Apocalyso, there are a lot of good fics to be found at darklordpotter.net tho

sighhh...was so dissapointed by the 4th movie, Cho Chang and Fleud Delacour were suppose to be HOT!...instead Hermione turned out hotter than the both of them combined

Blame Steve Kloves, the screenwriter. It's been obvious since the first film that he sees Hermione as virtually a goddess, and he'll alter the plot in any way he sees fit to make her look better.

One of the reasons the movies suck.

he is not the only one to blame i mean don't the directors and producers and maybe rowling herself have some say in what version of the script is used

Rowling has little to no say in how the movies operate.

It is the director who chooses what script to work with (so long as it's clean) but if the director doesn't see anything fundamentally wrong with it ...
