So it's NaNoWriMo, and since sometime I need to blow off steam or get some momentum going, I figured creating a basic story telling forum game would help with that.

So I'll start writing a story, with basically no information, and ask questions.  You guys give answers, and that will suddenly become the truth about the character (assuming no contradiction with previous information) the story will then proceed, and we'll see how far and in what direction this ends up taking us.  Give as much or as little information as you want with your replies, and feel free to build upon or expand on others' responses, the more info I get from you guys, the longer and more intricate I can make the story!  Off the wall skills, abilities, and personality traits are all acceptable, though since I'd rather keep this out of the restricted section, TRY to keep it appropriate.  I can probably gloss over the rauchier details, but if the character is called Sarkilm, Master Sodomizer... that kind of makes it difficult to write around.

Will probably use the FATE gaming system to represent the character as they develop, both so I can visualize the characters, use it to drive the story, and so you guys have an idea on how the character and story is shaping up.  Should be fairly simple, so let's get it going and see what happens!

I'll try to include everyone's replies, but I reserve the right to pick and choose should someone try to wreck the game, or if somehow this becomes popular and I can't address all of them.

Let's get this party started!

You awaken, and the first though that pops into your head is: Who are you?

Alright, was hoping for a name in there, but I think I'll go with Mortimer, or Morty.

Character Sheet:

Name: Mortimer
High Concept: ???
Trouble:???
Aspect:???
Aspect:???
Aspect:???

Skills:???
Stunts:???

Setting:???

Story:

He shook his head, clearing away the last traces of sleep from his mind.  Of course he knew who he was.  he was the same person he had been for decades.  Standing up, Mortimer made his way over to the mirror.

His face was aged, but the gray hair served to accentuate it, giving him an aura of wisdom and understanding.  He cleaned himself as best he could in his morning ritual. before getting ready to face the day.  As he opened the door, he looked at the sight before him.

What does Mortimer see?  Is it normal for him?

The winding passageways of the Kowloon Walled City. And yes, this is what he expected to see.

Expecting posts to grow longer as I get more information.  Apologies for shortness in the mean time.

Despite the fact that the sun had already risen, it looked more like twilight than anything else.   Mortimer looked over the cramped street, before stepping out and locking the door behind him.  It probably wouldn't stop a dedicated thief, but it was better than nothing.

He made his way slowly through the street, though it would probably be more accurate to call it an alley.  He moved fluidly through the crowds, avoid the ever present threat of being crushed with the ease of endless practice.  It wasn't as bad as it could have been, and in a strange way, it was almost leisurely, probably thanks to living in this way for so long.

Despite his slow pace, he arrived at his destination far faster than he anticipated.  It was a new day, time to get to work.

Where does he work, what does he do?
