Speaking of Ol' Cyke...
Poor teenage Jean...she isn't taking her boyfriend's dystopian future-self's emo mind declarations of love very well isn't she?
Remember kids....too much EMO is bad for you.?

I was thinking about the good old days where the Xmen just started out as a team. When they had those constant Danger Room trainings, when Scott had this massive crush on Jean when they first met.
I just knew there was going to be a comparison somewhere after AvX and Scott's current mindset and the way he was then. Why was it so predictable is what I'd like to know?
EDIT: I never predicted the Time Travel. Which comic is that one?

Spoilers Ahead:
Basically, the X-Men are debating what to do with Cyclops and his Not-The-Evil-Brotherhood-of-Mutants.
Iceman is all for taking them down. Others don't want a mutant civil war.
Beast (who is dying but doesn't tell anyone) gets the idea from a comment by Iceman ("Young Scott would hate what he has become") and travels back in time to bring the original X-Men to the future in hopes that seeing his young self face to face will snap Scott back in his senses.

I feel an impending Age of Apocalypse type story coming up. After all, if Young! Scott gets killed in the present, it'll retroactively kill Old!Scott as well... and messily unravel a lot of events he was involved in.
Let us say that Young Scott is not killed, but the younger X-Men do return to the past, wiser from the experience, and that their memories of this visit to the Dark Future do not get erased (which is otherwise very possible, and might be how Marvel plans for this to go in canon). How would they go about changing their future, and what effect might they have?
Who might they tell?
Could they turn Emma, or might they decide that working with 'evil' people is part of what turned Scott into a loony in the first place (rather than, say, untreated or poorly treated Post-Traumatic Stress)?
