"Just making certain I'm putting it in the right slit."

Chapter's out. Fillerish this time but with the some character growth on Clare's part and multiple group shots. ^_^

The end is nigh.

I do find it kind of interesting that we find out there have been at least 150 generations of warriors, as well as getting a clue to the relative ages of each of the seven.

I imagine they produce several a year. If not, and it's a once a year thing, that would explaing why so many people think the youma have been around forever: no one is left alive who remembers them not being around.

Well, it has more to do with the fact that there are only 47 active Claymores at any given time. I have to assume that the rate of generation creation is somehow linked to the rate of active Claymore losses. In other words, either they have been around for at least 150 years (at one generation per year)(not including the years since Clare became a Claymore), or a lot less. Wasn't there a bit that covered Clare's training, that explained that only (usually) one warrior per trainee group survived to become a full warrior? Or am I totally wrong?

So. New chapter revelations. Apparently Pricilla is so powerful because of the overwhelming hate-on she has for youma.

Actually, it sounds kind of like the source of Neku's power in The World Ends With You. The reason he was able to use all the different Psychs was because without memory, his imagination could run wild.

Pricilla, without knowing why she hated youma, only that she hated them, could "hate without limit," giving her so much power.

Conversely, someone like, say, Ophelia, could only hate until she understood her brother's sacrifice, at which point she was willing to give up her life.

Clare hates Pricilla, but because she's only quarter youma isn't as powerful.

I get the feeling that with this explanation Clare would have been a very high ranking warrior if she had been fully half-youma.

Eh, just some speculation.

New chapter.

Rubel is a Magnificient Bastard.

He told Clare, Yuma and Tabitha utter and total bullshit about being an enemy agent infiltrated in the organization to destroy it from inside.

The bastard is an...

I won't spoil it for everyone else. Suffice to say it explains much about his actions.

That "enemy agent" thing could still be true though?

I think he's got that "you never asked lol" thing going on; nothing he says is a lie, but it's what he doesn't say that makes him a liar.

Well, the thought crossed my mind but in light of what was revealed, the whole "enemy agent" angle is dubious at best.

A Semi-awaken male warrior would be ill suited to be used in such a fashion.

The risk of discovery would be too high.

His loyalty always dubious.

In my opinion, he went along Tabitha reasoning because correcting their mistake would not serve his purposes.

Let's consider how Clare and her friend would have react upon learning that he was an half-awaken warrior. A warrior who was perfectly aware of the Organization motives. A warrior who had joined the Organization as an Handler. A warrior who had shown no regard or sympathy toward his fellow, who have lied, manipulated, betrayed everyone for his own purpose.

Someone definitively NOT HUMAN, therefore not protected by the strong taboo against killing human.

Well, going along with their wrong reasoning was the best way to avoid a nasty case of decapitation.

Does anyone even read this anymore? Claymore 143

The beginning felt silly because really, how the hell does that work? Damn cliched too. But the ending was interesting, or perhaps enlightening. In the back of my head, I could hear Pirate of the Caribbean's Calypso saying: "A touch..of destiny..." ^_^

The rest was more of the same.

It's that there's a somewhat too long of a wait between chapters for how much goes on in them.

Looks like we're gonna have a Raki/Priscilla confrontation next chapter though. That should be interesting..... maybe.

Rather ominous considering she just said she liked young men's guts best.

Though I'm not really expecting Raki to die.

Then we find out Raki is secretly a young girl, and has been all along. :p

For real though, I expect him to try and make a 'weren't we friends?' attempt and fail; then while he's being menaced Claire swoops in to his rescue. Or Miata, for whatever reason, as she is a young girl.

Honestly though, it's nice to see SOME kind of weakness/gimping on Priscilla's part. Far too story breaker otherwise, and the protagonists would have no chance.

New Chapter

Honestly, at this point, I'm getting a little concerned about how this is going to end. I mean, pretty much everything that's shown up that has been "maybe this will beat Priscilla" has gone out the window. Clare got curb-stomped, Destroyer got consumed, all the Abyssals got killed long ago, Riful's daughter(?) got killed, and now this. Sure, they're saying, "We'll pit Cassandra against Priscilla," but look what keeps happening when an Abyssal winds up going against her. At this point, whatever Yagi does to beat her will kind of feel like an ass-pull.

Or it's going to turn out that aside from teaching him a sword style to kill Priscilla, Isley also made Raki into a perfect male Claymore, which is why he isn't blond, and he's going to release his power in the next chapter. Which given Isley's apparent preparations, the Destroyer rods, and Priscilla's arm might feel like less of an ass-pull.

'Boring invincible villain'

At this point I won't really care if it's an asspull, I just want to see Priscilla die.

The real problem is that Priscilla's characterization has all over the place. You can't connect or care about her, even as a villain that you feel repulsed by, because every time she changes forms all the development of her personality gets thrown out and she acts completely differently.

Like, why didn't she have a psychotic breakdown like Ophelia did when confronted by Raki? The way she was talking with Doctor Crazypants about her "alternate personalities" set that up magnificently, but that didn't happen at all.

I guess the problem is that in a show about Ability Users, Raki doesn't have a Special Ability... well, except for the part where he says something meaningful and kind and warmly smiles and a breeze ruffles his hair and he's got like this rugged jaw with great teeth, and oh yeah all these Ability Users are ladies, huh? Who even treat each other coldly, never mind the way others treat them.

Like if it was me, it would have gone like this:
dat chapter said:
Raki: Like I've promised, I'm here to take care of you, Priscilla.

Priscilla: Bring it on!

Raki uses SWORD!

It's not very effective....

Priscilla: Ha ha ha! I could crush you like a bug, but I'm going to squeeze you to death between my fingers! Maybe you trained for seven years for a special anti-Priscilla technique, but NOPE!

Priscilla used X-SLASH!

Raki: Guh!

It's super effective!

Priscilla: Ha ha ha! How's it feel to know that your seven years of effort didn't pay off, huh? How's it feel knowing that I, Priscilla, am completely immune to doubting myself, unlike literally everyone else in the whole entire series!

Raki: Priscilla... Now that Isley is gone, and I'm not going to be around anymore, you have to take care of yourself, okay? You're strong, so you should be fine.

Raki: Become someone you can be proud of.

Raki used TALK!

Priscilla: Retard.

It's super effective!

Priscilla (Other): Nooo! Oniichan!

Priscilla has gained the negative status effect CONFUSION (EXISTENTIAL)!

Priscilla: Shut up! We're the ultimate being!

Priscilla (Other): But he's the only person that's been our friend!

Priscilla: We don't need friends because we're strong!

Priscilla (Other): But who will stop the whispers in the darkness!?

Priscilla: We don't need to listen to them! We're stronger than anyone, we'll destroy anything that threatens us! Even memories!

Priscilla (Other): But we're a Fighting-type! We can't use psychic attacks!

Clare: What is even going on.

Miria: IDK

Chapter's out.

Ding, dong, the bitch is...not...dead. Sigh. At least she's getting there.

And that last line makes me want a Berserk/Claymore crossover.
