I would define it as every time they changed something just to force the universe back to a "status quo" because nothing is ever allowed to change in the comic universe. So like every time the universe shat on Peter Parker because it looked like he was about to settle down or get a nice steady job because we can't have a Spiderman who is in a happy relationship and not struggling to pay the bills.

hm. Is Gwen Stacy dead then? Because she was only killed to preserve the Status Quo. It wasn't a retcon, but it WAS explicitly because they felt the only way it could go with her alive was marriage and Editorial felt that would age the character to much. It'd be funny (by which I mean typical Parker Luck) for Peter to come out of the House of M reality having acknowledged that his wife and child weren't real and then they suddenly were and he's all mind borked again.

Gwen's death wasn't a retcon and a giant status quo changer for Spider-Man. Her sleeping with Norman. Definitely.

Marvel made _TWO_ What If..? on this, in one he goes so crazy he gets inside a Green Goblin costume, in the other the universe is purged because LOEV.

All right, if we start from the present and move backwards, the last retcon was "One More Day" at least in the Spider-man mythos. I'm going to be generous and decide that Peter and MJ are still married, and Parker never revealed who he was on camera since he didn't join Iron Man's side (I honestly feel that was all set-up for one more day).

Big time and Spider-Island still happen in the broad sense, though some details change. Considering Parker is terrible with money I'm going to have MJ be the one responsible for Money Management.

Superior Spider-man tries to happen, but this time Peter has a wife to fight for on top of everything else, and Ock fails. However, Ock's memories and persona lity do leave an impression on Spider-man which he spends the time he was SpOck in the comic trying to deal with.

Peter's still working at Horizon labs, Massacre is alive, but a prisoner in his own body, same with Smyth. Something similar to Goblin Nation will occur, but there's a serious chance another Goblin war breaks out before hand.

So question then. Since Horizon going kerblooey is what led to the creation/beginning of Alchemax, what's the what there?

The future Marvel timeline is already hosed according to other Marvel Comics, so at this point it's anyone's game.

A villain who knows Peter's secret identity (possibly Doc Oc, but I was thinking someone less competent) kidnaps all of Spider-Man's previous girlfriends (possibly even using a stolen time machine to gather anyone who's dead or otherwise inaccessible, but that way lies massive angst), in an attempt to blackmail Spidey into working for him. Unfortunately, Spider-Man is off-planet with the Avengers. Unfortunately for the villain, Spidey's girlfriends are generally not helpless or stupid.

Spiderman catches the flu during a year with a strong epidemic...he asks if he can get someone to sub for him...

J.J. is going to wish for his problems with Spiderman.

"Spiderman has cold! Spider-HULK will SMASH puny purse snatcher!"

This could be a fun one-shot or short bit. Actually, it gets further complicated if they end up kidnapping people who were only thought to be dating Spidey/Peter. Please note I'm cherry picking the girlfriends I'm most familiar with/would cause the most property damage regardless of the continuity.

So MJ Watson(-Parker, dammit) is definitely on the list. She's proven herself able to keep levelheaded in a crisis situation and is capable of handling herself. For extra fun, perhaps she has the web-shooter bracelets Pete gave her way back when.

Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat. This is already looking worrisome for our kidnapper.

Kitty Pride. X-man known as Shadowcat. Mutant with the ability to pass through things. Going by the Ultimate-verse continuity, dated Pete in High School.

Carlie Cooper. NYPD CSU officer. So now the cops are after whoever this is, and honestly, if we go by CSI: NY as a basis and the comics she was in, she's quite competent and capable of taking care of herself. Even more trouble for our kidnapper.

Sarah Rushman, who is in actuality the S.H.I.E.L.D.-brainwashed mutant Marrow. Making this really worryingly awkward for our kidnapper given Marrow in general has a fairly relaxed attitude towards having a body count or maimings in general.

Liz Allan. Dated briefly and depending on the continuity is either married (or the ex of) Harry Osborne, aka Green Goblin 2. OR she's a mutant with fire powers. Either way, MORE pain for our would be kidnapper.

Then for the piece de resistance: Carol Danvers. Miss, now Captain Marvel. Usual suite of flying brick powers. Guaranteed to cause issues for any kidnapper.

And for extra fun, other women who have been friendly with Spidey but never dated him:

Jennifer Walters, the Sensational She-hulk. Known to snark off with Spidey during the brief occasions when they've interacted.

Jessica Drew, Spider Woman. Completely non-spidery type powers, but going to be a huge headache for kidnappers nonetheless.

Things REALLY don't look good for our kidnapper at this point.

Also, more fun when they start gossiping about Spidey. Which gets really awkward for him in the epilogue when he finally gets back to Earth, hears about what happened, swings off to the rescue, only to find all the women sitting around drinking coffees. They all look at him, trade mutual amused glances then everyone starts giggling.

EDIT:

Also, if one were to put stock in rumors, then someone's liable to add Human Torch and Iceman to the list. Not only are they more trouble, this is even more fun for the rumors. :p

This multi-kidnapping has rapidly escalated to one of the WORST possible ideas ever in super-villaindom.

Which means it's rather par for the course for a comic book, isn't it.

Mmm I believe so.

And didn't she team up with Emma Frost for something? There was no romance involved, but if we're aiming for ridiculousness...

"Whose bright idea was to kidnap all of this guy's ex's? Seriously... we need to cut down to JUST the ones he dated more than once, because we're going to run out of room! This Parker guy's like some kind of rampaging man-slut. Look at all these women!"

"All gorgeous too."

"I know, right?! No wonder Jameson hates this guys guts. He's dating all these hot chicks and probably not sharing!"

Chameleon's reaction to impersonating Peter once was literally "Does this guy know any woman who is not ridiculously hot?"

Jesus H Christ, Spidey once made out with Herc's wife! Although it was an arranged marriage and the two had been estranged for about a millennia.

List of people Spidey has made out with.

Someone needs to write a fic where Spidey's going to Sexaholics Anonymous.

Dude...why have we not got a Spiderman Girlfriend/Romantic interest Anonymous comic?! Think of the hilarity this would bring!

I actually don't think Spidey's the problem. Look at those pictures in the comments. In a ton of them he's STARTLED. He doesn't seem to be the one initiating these mostly. If anything he may need counseling for all the sexual harassment he gets.

... which makes me wonder if Jameson's blatant lies count too.

Eck.

Is... Is Spidey the western equivalent of a Harem Anime Protagonist?
