Didn't we have that before with Ben Reilly replacing Peter as Spider-Man?

Wonder how many red herrings will pop up regarding this new Spider-man in the Ultimate Marvel universe.

The new colour scheme is said to be important, so he's probably going to be black, or a goth.

Am I the only one that is happy that Peter Parker will finally get a break from both being Marvels Cash whore, and butt-monkey simultaneously? I mean really at times marvel just seemed to only be thinking "How can we make Peter's life suck more?" while they are always thinking. "How can we get more money from this franchies (?sp)?"

They claim it's like nothing we've seen before. So, does that mean it will be their worst decision ever?

Probably a bit late for this but...Black Panther Movie in Development

Honestly, as a black man, I don't know if I can get behind this.

Someone explained it well in another thread. I don't quite remember the exact words, but I'll try to paraphrase. Emphasis on TRY.

People like Marvel comics, and Spider-Man in particular, because he keeps going on despite what happens to him. It's a bit more realistic for him to not live in a world where everyone loves him.

Unfortunately, Marvel writers took that to mean that we like Spider-Man being horribly abused and put through drama purely for the sake of drama.

So yeah, bad summary, but that's kind of what it said.

True, true, but I think Peter's not going to be dead, either. Ben Reilly, or whoever is in the costume, may be Spider-Man, but remember SHIELD Training. Peter's (possibly) staged death allows him to be put on the roster permanently, and maybe, I don't know, be a "super secret badass agent to replace Nick Fury after his retirement".

Or it may just be the vanilla ice cream lined with extra syrup and almonds talking here. Nice dream, though.

It says only the death of Spider-man, NOT peter parker...

And quite frankly, Peter needs a break before he goes batshit insane (It's a freaking miracle he hasn't snapped already).

Seems like he takes a bullet for Captain America. Also, the biggest tragedy in Ultimate Peter's life was when idiot editors made hiim break up with Kitty Pride first and Gwen Stacy next only for him to go back to a more stupid version of MJ. Seriously, your super-boyfriend tells you that a friend's father is a killer psycho that now knows his secret identity and you go because you want to 'confirm'? Seriously?

Why am I suddenly seeing four "new" superheroes emerging after Spider-Man "dies"?

... all claiming to be the original, and one turns out to be a villain, one's a teenage clone, one's a genius with no powers and an awesome powersuit, and the last one is sort of an android weapon type thing?

I really hope that prediction turns out to be wrong.

Guys...this is the Ultimate-verse we're talking about. The universe where the writers can pull off whatever the fark they want without fear of how it'll effect the status quo.

In the past decade or so, nearly every death in the Ultimate verse has pretty much stuck. So if Ultimate Cash Cow # 2 Wolverine and his co-stars the X-Men are not safe....Spidey won't be either.

PS: Marvel already did their own version of the Superman IC thingy with Spidey back in the 90s....

Though it was more a case of giving Spidey an even larger spandex wardrobe. :sweat2:

It would appear that 'Dark Horse Comics' will be covering the order of the Jedi in a new Comic Series entitled Dawn of the Jedi. This is a time before lightsabers, before the polarization of Light and Dark when the order was young and located on Tython.

...and so it begins...

Maybe we'll finally have the answer to the eternal question. What came first, the Jedi or the Sith?

That depends on what you mean by 'Jedi', and what you mean by 'Sith'.

Huh, surprised this hasn't been posted yet.

Marvel have come up with their next massive event, which must've been pitched as "er, let's get all the Avengers, and let's get all the X-Men, and make them fight each other", something that probably took what, ten seconds to be thought of?

...I'm seriously, that's what it's about. The event itself is called Avengers VS X-Men.

Huh?

What is this, I don't even...

How did this thought even come about? The Phoenix Force is heading to Earth, and that somehow leads to a fight between the X-Men and The Avengers?

Were they drunk or something? Marvel, why do you like trolling your fans so much?
