Here it is! My Work in Progress of Chapter 3 for my pretty popular OMG story, Conflicted Hearts. Pretty popular after you take into considering that its in the OMG section at FFN, one of the less popular sections there. I have 22 reviews, and a somewhat large number of hits (before it was reset), gotta tell you something!
For those that don't know...this is an Urd/Keiichi fic that is set after the OVAs, with HEAVY manga and movie influence. Since I started writing this story before I read any of the mangas, I had the events set after the OVAs. Problem with that though is, well, here's the case where, well, the OVAs...is almost NOTHING like the mangas. Not only are they basically two different stories, but in terms of content, OVA is like NOTHING! Especially with many characters like Mara, Troubadour, Peorth, Chihiro, Hild, Sentaro, Rind, and so on and so on, that you don't see in the OVAs.
Though if there is any advantage to doing this, well, since it is set after the OVAs and not somewhere in the mangas, I can...change the events around concerning the manga since, it's not 'officially' in that timeline. Hehehe. I also did this since certain characters (like Sentaro) will play pivital roles later that will GREATLY effect the events here. <_<
I'm still working on this chapter so, when you get to the end, that isn't where I'm going to end the chapter. It's just, well, where I currently stopped before I offered this preview for all of you readers to enjoy! Oh yeah, and for those at Shinji's, I do have a preview there as well. However, after 73 hits, NO one has said anything. Hmmm. Guess that means I'm doing well right?
This one goes a little further BTW then the one at Shinji's. Just so you know. Anyways...on with the preview!

ôSo what are we going to do with Troubadour? He obviously canÆt take a hint!ö Urd said with indignation as she looked to the side, hoping NOT to see him. Unfortunately, she didnÆt get her wish since she could see him waving back at her through the window.
ôWell, itÆs your problem! Why donÆt you do something about it?ö Skuld said, nearly spitting out her reply. While her ultimate goal was also to get rid of Troubadour, and hook up Urd and Keiichi, that didnÆt mean she had to play nice to Urd either.
Urd narrowed her eyes and glared at Skuld. ôWhat do you think IÆve been trying to do?ö She then relented and sighed. ôNormally, I should be able to handle him on my own. But he is no longer my main concern.ö She then looked up and sees Keiichi sitting on the ground. Concerned washed over her instantly. ôIÆm more concerned about Keiichi sake than my own.ö
Skuld frowned too. She too was concerned. Not necessarily for KeiichiÆs sake (though deep down inside, she was concerned for him as well), but for BelldandyÆs. ôWellàwhat do you suggest?ö Random explosions and screaming are heard in the background. ôIÆm quickly running out of armaments for Benpai and IÆm not sure how fast I can get another load ready.ö
ôI will make sure that nothing will happen to Keiichi.ö Belldandy spoke up at that moment. æAnd after that, I will see what I can do about Troubadour. Maybe to see what his true intentions are.Æ While deep down inside, she was hoping that it was to re-ignite love between him and Urd, and with her general trust in everyone, even in the darkest of demons, she trusted TroubadourÆs words, at the same time, she wasnÆt as na´ve as everyone believes to just take things at face value as well. Trustàbut verify.
ôAnd Iàö Urd paused as she tried to think of what she should do. ôIÆllàIÆll talk to him personally. Maybe I can talk some sense into him.ö
ôUmàwhat about me?ö Keiichi quietly spoke up from his position on the floor.
ôYouàö Urd turned to him in an instant. ôYour job is to stay away from him at all cost. Got it?ö
ôGulp!ö Keiichi sank back down. ôI sure.ö
ôAndàö Urd looked away sadly for a moment. ôStay away from me at all cost too. As long as you are no where near me, maybeàhe wonÆt get the wrong idea.ö
Keiichi seemed to be disheartened by that comment, more so than he had expected. ôYeah. That would be a good idea.ö He quietly replied, with a slight tone of disenchantment.
This, again, was not lost on Belldandy. æWhy?Æ Her mind screamed out at him. ôKeiichi? Are you okay?ö
ôHuh?ö Keiichi quickly turned to her. ôOh, um, yeah! IÆm fine!ö Keiichi scratched the back of his head quickly. ôIÆm justàyou know, stressed out! After all, having a psychotic really jealous ex-boyfriend of Urd that could make my body explode with bugs doesnÆt exactly do wonders to my stress level! Hehehe!ö Keiichi said quickly, trying to lighten the somewhat somber mood that seemingly descended upon the room.
Belldandy continued to stare at Keiichi, trying to gauge his emotions, before a faint smile appeared on her face. So far, KeiichiÆs emotions and concern seemed to be genuine. ôOh Keiichi, donÆt worry! We will get through this!ö Belldandy leaned in closer to Keiichi and placed her hands on top of his.
Urd felt sick to her stomach when she saw that. While deep down inside, she knew why, her rational mind refused to accept it. ôIÆll go out and talk to him.ö
Keiichi sighed. ôI think I shouldàstay in my room.ö
Skuld crossed her arms and was in deep thought. ôIÆm going to set up and energy barrier around your room. ItÆs going to take me a while so Urd better keep him away long enough for me to set it up!ö She then glared at Keiichi. ôYou better appreciate what IÆm doing!ö She ran to her room and slammed her door shut.
æYeahàif I survive this, IÆm going to give you as much ice cream as I can affordàand then take out a loan to buy you more!Æ Keiichi mentally replied as he slowly got up and began to head to his room. ôWell, I guess I can work on updating the program on that computer. Now that I will be spending all my time thereàö
ôDo you want to me to be with you?ö Belldandy offered smiling. ôIf it makes you feel betteràö
Keiichi smiled at the offer but lightly shook his head. ôThatÆs okay Bell! You really donÆt have to! IàI think IÆll be fine!ö
ôOkayàö Belldandy said, with a twinge of disappointment in her voice. ôIÆm going to be in the kitchen making dinner! Take care Keiichi!ö Belldandy gave one last look at Keiichi, before she trotted to the kitchen.
After a few moments of contemplation, Keiichi hung his head. æWhy did I just do that? This couldÆve been an excuse for us to be alone! Stupid!Æ Keiichi shook his head in disbelief and headed towards him room. ôWell, guess there isnÆt much I can do nowàö
Courtyard
Troubadour nursed his right arm after the last explosion caught him off by surprise. Each time he tried to avoid that little robot, the robot always outsmarted him with hidden mines, laser guided missiles, chain guns unloading on him from hidden locations, camouflage, and one time involving a toy bunny that gave him candy, only to explode in his face causing a massive fireball. ôHow? How can that thing keep thwarting my every move?ö
ôThatÆs my sister for you.ö Urd flew up to where Troubadour was standing. Her calm expression changed to that of rage as she glared at Troubadour. ôNow, why are you still here?ö
Troubadour raised a single hand as his mouth fell open before Urd turned away from him in an instant.
ôNo, never mind! I already know why youÆre here.ö Urd said with a disapproving glare. She then noted that his expression changed to that ofàfear? Fear like he was exposed. æSo, you do have an ulterior motive donÆt you?Æ Unfortunately, at the moment, she canÆt fathom what that ulterior motive could be. æI just hope to find out before something terrible happens. Though to be extra safeàÆ ôThe question I should be asking is WHY youÆre still here? I told you once, and IÆm TELLING you again that we are through!ö
TroubadourÆs face calmed down a bit. æShe doesnÆt knowàÆ ôItÆs only because I am here to win back your heart my lovely Urd!ö He reached out and tried to take her hands.
Urd instantly pulled away. ôJust leave and NEVER come back! How many times do I have to tell you?ö
ôBut my lovey doveyàö Troubadour took a step towards Urd again when he heard a click behind him. He slowly cranked his head back to see what it was.
Benpai was aiming a pretty massive chain gun at him. However, the barrel simply spun around, clicking after each rotation.
Troubadour gave a sigh of relief, that relief however was short lived when Urd opened her mouth behind him.
ôI think IÆm beginning to see whatÆs going on here.ö Urd said as a grin appeared on her face. ôHer elaborate dress dissolved and reformed into a scantily clad corset made of leather, complete with leather boots and leather gloves, and in her hands, a thick leather whip. ôYou just want to be punished!ö
Troubadour slowly backed up from Urd. ôUm, lovely honeyàI told you that I wasnÆt into that beforeàö
ôI donÆt knowàö UrdÆs eyes flashed with glee. ôYou keep coming back after all those attacks by my sisterÆs little robotàö She cracked the whip ominously next to her. ôIt isnÆt hard to put two and two together! IsnÆt that right you bad boy?ö Urd said in a seductive, if dangerous tease.
Troubadour took even more steps back. ôUrdàum, it isnÆtà You know, I think I should go this wayàö He spun around and started sprinting.
ôWhere are you going?ö Urd narrowed her eyes as she ran after Troubadour. SNAP! She snapped the whip at TroubadourÆs butt. ôDonÆt you want my love?ö
ôOW! No!ö Troubadour held his butt as he jumped over a rock. SNAP! ôOw! I mean YES! Just not when youÆreàö SNAP! ôOW! Someone save me!ö
Over the wall, on a nearby tree, Mara peered over the wall to see Troubadour getting whipped by Urd. She grinned at the scene. She was amused at the scene in front of her, though it wasnÆt exactly what she wanted. ôWell, he is causing trouble in there.ö
ôSeeing long eared weirdo sad makes Senbei happy!ö Senbei danced on MaraÆs shoulder.
Mara sighed and shook her head. ôExcept HE wasnÆt the target!ö
ôThen does this mean that masterÆs plan has failed?ö Senbei asked without much thought, something that should be expected.
ôGrrrrrrrrrrrr!ö Mara grabbed Senbei and started squeezing him. ôGive it time! Once Troubadour gets close enough to that mortal, and unleashes his little surpriseàyouÆre going to be a very, VERY happy little god!ö
