Converging Lives

Okay, the premise:

I'm basically going to make a fic about a 'cosmic game' between very bored, very powerful multiversal beings. Each of them will choose one or two characters from various realities and... arrange... for them to appear in mainstream 616 continuity (the one we all know and love/hate/whatever, to clarify). Kinda like Exiles on steroids.

Why would they do that, you ask? Purely for the lulz, mostly, and because they're bored and want to see what happens. Yeah, these guys are kinda dicks. All-powerful jackasses and all that.

The characters can be anyone, but it's best if they are from neglected and/or 'dead' timelines. However, characters who got put on a bus (like Ultimate Spidey/Peter Parker) can also qualify.

That about sums it up. The entities will be nonfactors past their initial interference (after all, they want to see what happens if things go their own way after they throw a stone in the pond, so to speak), but they are necessary to start the 'game', and since they are basically ruining lives for their own amusement, they have to be sorta dicks, so I'm leaning towards them being OCs rather than estabilished cosmics (in no small part because few Marvel cosmics have both the scope of power and are bored or amoral enough to do something like this, since it's basically screwing with the order of things).

Or I could 'borrow' and adapt powerful beings from videogames or anime and use those as stand-ins. Whatever, not like they'll matter aside maybe from intermission scenes every now and then, if at all.

Soooo...

This topic is to decide who to pick and throw to the wolves. I already have a lock - Mutant-X's Bloodstorm, whom I greatly liked back when I read those comics (although I liked all of Mutant-X's setting, to be fair, but she stood out).

There's up to 5 more spots (there's three 'entities', and I resolved that they can choose no more than two people each, though they can choose less than that), and as mentioned, characters who got the shaft for various reasons such as their series being canceled (New Universe, Marvel 2099) or them being put on the great bus from hell (hi, Ultimate Spidey and Ultimate Wasp! Among others...) are preferred. Obscure characters are fair game too, I guess.

Anyway... let's hear your opinions. I'm asking specifically because the characters dictate the plot, necessarily. What works as motivation for one may not work for another.

Well, depending on how dickish these entities are, Superboy Prime might be an option.

Since when is Superboy Marvel? *cough*

Seriously...

Anyway, since there's no real replies, I'm currently considering Ravage 2099 and Starbrand as the last two. The New Universe in general was interesting, and the 2099 series was never appropriately given its due.

Another possibility is someone from X-Men 2099, or the first Thunderbird (John Proudstar) for extra screwing with the X-Men's heads. Marrina is also a possibility - she didn't deserve to be put on a bus after Osborn screwed with her genetics like she did.

There's also a choice from my inner fanboy: Skurge the Executioner. Because he was badass.

How about someone from the MC2 Universe, like Spider-Girl or J-2?

Now this is an interesting idea. Especially for the female Magneto, lol.

Arana is also a good choice, as is J2, as you said. Hmmm...

I'll keep it to three characters, so I'll go and read up a bit on MC2 now. Keep suggestions coming...

Hahaha oh wow. I wholly support this idea, though aren't there already enough god-like entities in the Marvelverse already?

Honestly, this idea's big problem is that it's too directionless. There needs to be some sort of end-goal for them to be working to, or any fic that comes out of this will just flounder.

How neglected do you want?

How about Sandman's unnamed daughter from Spider-Man: Reign.

Or Basilisk(Cyclops) and Redback(Spider-Woman) from Age of X? Preferably post-self-sacrifice Redback.

Earth X: Loki or Franklin Richards.
Mutant X: Mystique/Apocalypse/Typhoid Mary
Age of Apocalypse: Husk/Psylocke/Switchback/
MC2:Spider-Girl/Wild Thing/Raptor/That cyborg that Iron Man made who's name I can't remember.../Speedball
Old Man Logan: Spider Girl/Baby Hulk.

Now if I could only remember more standout male characters from alternate marvelverses...

How about a claim of commitment. Except you said you were committed last time, and that went nowhere.

I did mention that goals would differ between characters, didn't I? Depending on who they are and HOW they got to 616, they may want to simply find a way to go home, be trying to change something, acquire an object or simply want to make a new life for themselves because they have nothing worth going back to.

That's why I have a rough draft only atm... it literally depends on who gets thrown to the wolves.

*takes notes* Good ones...

I won't take criticism like that from someone who can't be bothered to write more than a single line of text whenever he posts.

It's your loss. But my point still stands. As far as writing goes you have repeatedly done things to give the exact opposite of hope as far as decent story length is concerned.

There's also a notable difference from before in that I now have a job, so for most of the week I have to leave home at 7AM and don't return before 5, if not later. And the job involves staring at a PC screen for hours, so I'm already tired by the time I'm home.

I can get away with posting here at work, but writing a fic? Haha, no.

And on weekends, I usually have my mother bothering me. Which is not very helpful for writing.

Commitment isn't easy to pledge when one lives such a disruption-filled life...

Was very tired, thought you wanted to include crossover characters.

He didn't specify, though it was strongly implied that this was Marvel only.

...

Read the subtitle of this thread again.

A MARVEL idea of mine. That's no implication, it's a statement. Otherwise I'd have mentioned a crossover with others. Which I'd rather avoid, to be honest...

Seriously, if you're going to berate me for having the attention span of a gnat, please do make sure you actually pay attention to detail yourself. Otherwise you're just another guy who doesn't practice what he preaches.

Pretty much the only thing remotely like a non-Marvel crossover I mentioned is the possibility (and I stress possibility) that instead of making OC 'Entities', I might bring in existing ones from fiction, and even then those entities are completely irrelevant beyond how they kickstart the story - they're plot starters and nothing else.

You know... I also wouldn't mind Movie-verse Rogue having some sense knocked into her from her comic self. Though even every single animated version of herself would be able to do that.

What is this 'movie-verse Rogue' you speak of? No such thing exists. -_-

Hmm... I had a thought, would you possibly reference the Shattered Dimensions game is Spider-man 2099, Noir or Ultimate Spidey/Peter Parker are used? If so, I reccomend all three, Ultimate the most.

Maybe Venompool from his what-if?

Ultimate Doc Ock perhaps?

Movie!Venom, Movie! Norman Osborn (doubly so if the two Normans might have a Green Goblin battle), Spectacular Cartoon!Green Goblin, Electro, 90's cartoon Spider-Carnage and Movie!Loki are all ones I'd like to see.

Anything from the various What If worlds is certainly fair game - some of them radically change things around, not always for the better of course.

Exiles!Namora I miss her.

Oh, almost forgot about the What If? symbiote using Spidey's corpse... I think it's name was Poison?

Definitely the What If? Spidey that hooked up with a CIA super-agent. Spider sense honed to the point where he could 'see' the future and no one could tell exactly how far forward he was sensing things or how much he was manipulating. I would've loved to see him handle the Civil War and Skrull Invasion. If only I could find the sig i made from that comic...

Just about every version of Storm has been likeable.

Wolverine Origin's Barakapool just to have 616 Deadpool repeatedly kill him off in hilarious ways.

Ultimate 'Gwen Stacey'.

Do Amalgam characters count? Cause Magneto's Magnetic Men and Shatterstarfire were interesting. As was Bruce Wayne: Agent of Shield and Spider-Boy.

Edit: Oh, and Caiera the Oldstrong from the What If? Where she survived instead of Hulk.
