Here we go.

London

ôHow are you holding up Mina?ö

ôMÆfine, Art.ö Minako Aino mumbled.

ôNo, youÆre monosyllabic.ö Artemis sighed, ôWhatÆs wrong?ö

Mina took a moment to fully articulate her thought, ôZoicite is a son of a bitch.ö

The moon cat took a moment to consider this from his position on her lap, ôAye. That he is.ö

Silence reigned for a time, before Minako broke it, ôWas he telling the truth?ö

ôAs near as we can tellà yes.ö

Minako laughed, it was a sound devoid of joy or humor, ôGlobal. I donÆt know if I can handle that.ö

Artemis managed to purr and speak at the same time, ôYou managed to take down Twilight.ö

The blonde snorted as she stroked her cat, ôTwilight was a private corporation Art. It was powerful inside the Confederation and the Colonies, sure, but that was it. Global means theyÆre in America and Asia. The Reds would probably shoot me on sight.ö

ôAnd why would they do that?ö Artemis was genuinely confused.

ôBecause IÆm a fascist, silly.ö

ôThey wonÆt shoot you just because of ideology Mina.ö

Now Minako was confused, ôWhy in the world not? Being a communist is treason here, wouldnÆt being a fascist be treason over there?ö

ôIn Russia or China maybe, but not in America. Besides, if they shoot you, then who will protect them from the monsters?ö

ôOh, right. Still, IÆm not sure I can manage it alone. The world is a big place, and if IÆm in New York then IÆm not in London.ö She sighed while scratching Artemis behind the ears.

ôMinakoàö

ôI know, I know. If the Dark Kingdom isnÆt stopped then Britain goes with the rest of humanity.ö

Something happened. Minako felt it and judging by the way Artemis had frozen, so had he.

ôArtemis, what just happened?ö

ôThe game changed. What you are feeling is the Silver Crystal, if the Dark Kingdom finds it before we do, they win.ö

ôIf we find it first?ö

ôThen we might win, depending on if weÆve found the Princess yet. Damn it, there was supposed to be more time. I need to talk with Control.ö Artemis was already by the door to the hallway.

Silently, Minako got up from her bed and let Artemis out of her room. He was gone in an eye blink.

Rome

Luna left the meeting in fairly high spirits. She was pretty sure she had managed to convince the various European heads of state to continue backing Artemis and V, although she wasnÆt sure how long that would last while she was away in Japan. So deep in thought was she that she only had a momentÆs warning, ôKitty!ö before she was bodily grabbed and lifted into the air.

LetÆs see, manic grin? Check. Red eyes that looked through you instead of at you? Check. Knee length black hair with green highlights? Check. Anachronistic clothing? Check, in this case the clothing wouldnÆt be out of place in 1850s South Carolina.

ôHello Pluto, I should have figured youÆd be out.ö

ôOh, the trumpets of glory, now call me to ride. Yes, the trumpets are calling to me

ôIndeed. Does that mean youÆll be intervening directly?ö

A giggle, and a shake of the head.

ôWhat will you be doing, then?ö

The manic grin turned into a naughty smile, as if Pluto were a very young child sharing a secret, ôLogistics.ö

Luna was then reminded that Pluto was not to be underestimated. Not many would be able to teleport near her without her detecting the magic. Pluto, however, managed to teleport with her, and Luna wouldnÆt have been able to tell she did anything. Well, other than how they were on top of the Tokyo Tower instead of inside a building in Rome.

ôAh. Thank you. I barely felt the transfer.ö

Pluto beamed at the praise.

A minute passed.

ôCould you please put me down?ö

Luna realized her mistake when the beaming turned back into a manic grin, but with PlutoÆs eyes now focused on her. Pluto shifted her grip so as to be holding Luna in one hand.

ôBai, Bai

Which was when the bitch threw her. Off of the top of the Tokyo Tower. At least they were high enough up that she would land on her feet.
