I basically had it as a morphing weapon that primarily augments his already existing powers. Turns into a shield to help focus his right arms powers, or shifts into an axe or hammer to channel his left arms abilities better. On it's own it'd be just a weapon shifter, but it's true potential is in the fact that it actively channels his powers through itself.

I've thought of the medallion being a shield before but then you have the dumb image of Chad running around with a pair of shields. But a shield works better since its symbolic of his grandfather's teachings and makes more sense than it residing in his right arm.

You could scrap the shield arm so Chad's whole body represents his offensive power and the medallion is his defensive power. Though he could attach the shield to himself to keep it active. :hmm:

I meant you have the shield of Chad's right arm and then the medallion shield. It's workable since the latter can pull off tricks that his natural shield couldn't (and vice versa) but the image doesn't mesh well with me.

Oh right read that wrong. Yeah, that's one of the issues I ran into with the shield arm and medallion not meshing. Keep in mind, I originally came up with the idea following my Chad gets multiple varying arms concept, so it wasn't going to be the core point of that arm.

And since I removed that core point of his grandfather's teachings residing in the arm, I wanted to at least shift it to something else, the medallion being perfect.

Since then though I've shifted my views admittedly, his right arms focus is 'repelling and exploding' while his left is 'Condensing and Imploding', which helps justify why it's his right that's throwing around the massive blasts while his left tends to be more localized. He does far more damage with the Left, but in terms of AoE and defense his Right is the limb to use. Twas also incorporated in the set of attacks I drafted earlier on. :sisi:

I should probably try to draft something new up for the medallion, but I've held the sheild/morphing weapon concept so long it's hard to shake free of it. Particularly since Chad Surfing on that thing is a bitchin image.

Though all things considered, his offensive capacity is pretty much already covered, it might be a better idea to look into potential passive powers for the medallion instead. Maybe some sort of awareness ability, or the power to create buffs for others, specifically a defensive barrier to help repel attacks even if he's not there directly to do it with something like La Muralla. The medallion acting more like a charm than any kind of weapon or offensive ability, a charm he can pass to others to grant them its protection too.

Oh wait, maybe instead it gives him a regen ability. That could work too, help him negate some of his squishiness beyond the potential for armor advancement.

This came about when I was considering more applications for the Fullbringer's soul abilities and realised that these guys are practically benders. It renders one of my earlier concepts redundant but this provides them with an interesting counterpart to kido. The effects are less complex but there are definite advantages.

Name: Fullbend

User: Fullbringers

Ability: This is a category of skills that Fullbringers are able to use which is based upon their ability to pull out the soul of matter and direct it to move in a certain way. With refinement, they become able to manipulate the natural elements of the world.

They can direct air molecules to create any and all forms of winds, generating breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tempests, and hurricanes within a limited area. ItÆs possible for them to control its density, create or absorb sound, create a vacuum and produce razor winds.

They can control any type of liquid to move and shape a body of water to change its form and/or density. It can be shaped into weapons or animals to provide weapon or be used to wash away and drown a target.

They can excite the molecules to increase the thermal energy of an object or the air to generate fire. They can control and move the flames, including the shape and heat, to burn or melt targets. Alternatively, itÆs possible to reduce the kinetic energy of atoms meaning they effectively make things colder and can transform moisture/water into varying forms of ice and control, manipulate and move it as they wish.

Finally, they are able to reshape the earth into different objects and constructs, they can move sections of the earth along with rock and boulders at varying speeds over land, water and air, they can transform it into mud and sand and they can, cause avalanches, earthquakes, mudslides or quicksand.

The scale of the effects is dependent on the FullbringerÆs power and skill; the greater these two qualities then the more powerful their fullbending becomes. TheyÆre limited in only being able to manipulate matter within a certain range and can only do it on one substance at a time.

Name: Fullstep

User: Fullbringer

Ability: This is the FullbringerÆs ability to enhance the speed of their movements in various ways. They possess a high-speed movement technique on par with the ShinigamiÆs shunpo which is simply called Fullstep. They are able to increase the height of their jump by making the ground elastic or increase their speed by pulling on the surrounding airspace for a boost or do the same to slow themselves down. They also possess related skills such as removing the friction of the ground, making the ground extremely solid or extremely sticky, depending on the situation.

Name: Technology Fullbring

User: Fullbringer

Ability: A form of fullbringing (or fullbending) where the user is able to control technology by pulling on a machineÆs soul. For regular appliances the Fullbringer can turn them on and off, adjust their settings or cause a malfunction. They can access the programs of a computer as well as the programming itself or use the internet. For vehicles, itÆs possible to direct them to drive themselves under the userÆs guidance.

Name: El VÝnculo (The Bond)

User: Chad

Availability: Available to all.

Ability: A material fullbring which uses Chad's coin as the focus. The Coin itself unlike most fullbring does not change or morph, and it's only power takes shape in a nearly invisible aura that spreads a huge area around Chad. There is no noticeable effect to this aura at first, the only noticeable trait to the effect being active is the strange glow that seems to emanate from the coin and Chad alike, particularly in his eyes.

However so long as this ability is active, Chad's capacity for Fullbring techniques with manipulating the ground around him and using Bringer Light and its variants is vastly increased, being able to call upon these techniques far more quickly and in much quicker succession than he normally is able to. Furthermore his ability to predict and react to enemy attacks is greatly improved as well, allowing him to dodge attacks by a hairs breathe that he wasn't even able to follow previously.

El VÝnculo is the manifestation of the simplest and most basic ability of the Fullbringers amplified many times over, a power which greatly increases the resonance of souls within the skill's area of effect for allies, and actively hinders the resonance for enemies, making it harder for them to use Fullbring techniques or combination attacks. This offers Chad in particular greater capacity for Fullbring Techniques, and more importantly a sort of trance like state that allows him to resonate his soul with his enemies, allowing him the ability to predict and react to attacks instinctively, while the enemy actively finds it harder to use their techs or properly land blows.

However, this technique is more formidable when Chad is fighting in a group with allies, since anyone Chad trusts within the area also becomes connected within this resonance, greatly increasing their capacity for teamwork and working together instinctively with extreme precision, amplified more so the greater the level of trust their is between them. Be it Ichigo, Ishida, Orihime, or even Shibata's guardian state, all of them receive a similar benefit within the aura of El VÝnculo, in addition to them finding it much easier to fuse attacks together to make a much stronger technique they they could produce alone.

In the case of extremely powerful bonds however, an additional benefit is found under the influence of this skill. With the ability active it becomes possible to actively transfer reiatsu between each other under a slight delay. This can be used in the most obvious way to help those with lower stamina keep up with the heavier hitters by just transferring the raw power between each other under the bond, but at extremely advanced levels of trust it can allow for the transferring of shaped techniques like Kido and energy attacks between each other, to allow another ally to utilize a skill they otherwise wouldn't have access too.

For example, in a case where Chad and Ichigo are fighting together Ichigo can choose to shape his getsuuga as he normally would, but instead of firing it he can transfer the reiatsu he used to forge the technique over to Chad, thus allowing him to fire that same Getsuuga from his arm from his position instead. This obviously doesn't work for all techniques, and due to a slight delay it's not as dangerous as it otherwise would seem, but with the precognition ability of El VÝnculo active it can greatly increase the surprise element of a battle and easily turn things in their favor if used properly.

Presumably it's because of this skill that Chad has access to two (three if we count Shibata) other FullBring abilities, this skill serving as the basis for all his other powers, and in turn the cause for his ability's evolution, particularly in Hueco Mundo, as well.




So yeah, in essence the coin's basic ability IS to Full Bring, only stepped up to eleven. I was technically planning this same sort of ability AGES ago for a Kitano Expy (From Angel Densetsu and if you don't know him, rectify that travesty immediately) for the Naruto apartment thread ages ago. But the more I thought about it the more it seemed to fit Chad scarily well instead, in certain aspects.

I considered another potential ability for the coin for a bit, one that lets him negate physical force, making him essentially immovable, which he also used to store energy to augment his attacks, but this seems to work far better given the general concept behind full bring, and also greatly encapsulates a lot of his backstory elements too. As WELL as tying all his powers together. Absolutely terrifying how much that works.



Also the ability transfer bit could quite literally get absolutely crazy, and would make the team impossible to predict. If used right Orihime could be firing Ishida's 1200 arrows out of goddamn nowhere, Rukia could be busting out Ichigo's Shunpo's for an insane speed boost, Ichigo casting Kido like a goddamn champ thanks to Rukia, Pure and total chaos needless to say. I considered removing it entirely, but the image was just too fun.

Naturally this ability can be augmented with the Negacion Matrix ability I gave Mizuro a while back, adding for absurd teamwork potential and ability transfer chaos. :rofl:

Name: Escudo del Padre, Shield of the Father

User: Chad

Ability: This is ChadÆs material fullbring which uses his medallion as the focus and is able to summon a golden disc-shaped shield. This fullbring embodies the teachings and beliefs that his abuelo passed down to him.

In its initial state it appears as a translucent shield of energy and in its second state is appears as four sections of metal in a circular formation, connected by his energy.

The shield possesses immense defensive properties, allowing it to withstand great force without harm and its aerodynamic shape means it can easily be used as a projectile when thrown. Chad is able to have it move according to his will without needing to touch it so he can defend himself from different angles, strike opponents from blind spots or use it as a transportation device. He is able to expand a circular shield of energy from the shield to defend a greater area of space, making it ideal for protecting others in addition to himself. The strength of the energy barrier is equal to the shield itself though Chad cannot use its unique abilities in this form.

The shield is able to repel anything it touches. This allows him to redirect attacks back in the direction they came from or angle them to move at a different angle. Repelling the air provides Chad with a ranged attack even whilst defending and he use it as form of propulsion. ItÆs less powerful than the techniques of his armoured arms but it can at least blow black and stun the opponent in most cases.

The shield is also able to absorb either kinetic energy or spiritual energy and contain it within the shield. Chad can then choose to absorb this energy into his body to supply his spiritual energy or use it to enhance the repulsive effects of the shields for a more powerful blast. However he can only absorb one type of energy, meaning Chad has to consciously alter the absorption depending on the attack. Absorbing too much energy causes the shield to self-destruct with the contained energy, damaging anyone caught in its range.

Notes: It's been discussed for a while, so I figured it would make sense to write up the ability. It combines the other abilities developed for Chad's right arm since it makes more sense for this to be his defensive power in the story its used for.



Name: Santen Saishun, Triple Heavenly Dividing Shield

User: Orihime

Ability: This technique combines offensive and healing properties by integrating Tsubaki into the Soten Kisshun. It is a circular shield that releases a beam of energy which rejects the bonds fusing matter together, causing anything caught in its range to disintegrate. ItÆs instantaneous on regular matter but the speed and effectiveness is dependent on the reiatsu of the opponent. It can potentially be used on constructs of energy as well by breaking apart their structure and causing them to disperse. An alternative method of this fires a barrage of energy bullets from the shield which disintegrate everything they touch.

Notes: An alternative to the version I came up with ages ago and this one feels more fitting, tbh. Or at least more interesting.



Name: Meikyou Shisui, Clear Mirror, Still Water

User: Aizen

Ability: Aizen SousukeÆs bankai creates a self-sustaining illusion that is fuelled by the mind of the victim. Everyone who witnesses the zanpakutoÆs release falls into a coma-like state as they experience its effects, rendering them completely helpless and unaware of the world around them.

The illusion thatÆs produced is dependent on the individual so its effect is different for everyone. It is the ideal fantasy world of the victim; a world without any pain or suffering, where all of their heartÆs desires have been realised and they have achieved complete happiness. There is even a level of memory modification as they temporarily forgot everything that occurred before witnessing the bankai to better integrate them in the illusion.

Aizen has the ability to freely enter, move about and manipulate the fantasies of all his victims as he desires. For example he can change the illusion into their worst nightmares, alter the events taking place and change the victimÆs relationships with the fabricated characters.

However this bankai has a critical flaw which prevents it from being used in certain situations. Just as the victims enter a coma upon activation, so does Aizen as he becomes immersed in the fantasy world of his victims. Whilst he has an unlimited reign within the fantasy world, he becomes incredibly vulnerable in reality for as long as the bankaiÆs active. He usually prepares for this by setting up barriers and ensuring that every nearby enemy is caught in its release but it isnÆt perfectly safe for him to use.

Notes: A broken bankai for a broken zanpakuto but I think this provides a suitable reason for why he didn't whip this out in canon (other than sheer arrogance). He doesn't trust anyone and if he can't guarantee his safety then it's probably not worth using.

Though realistically I'm probably never going to get around to writing anything due to time constraints and other issues. I've been meaning to write something for years, but the farthest I ever get is RP posts generally. Other than that I'm so out of practice it's horrifying, not that I got much practice in to begin with. So while I want to use some of these concepts, I'm probably to lazy to ever get around to them.

Which is part of the reason I kept the 'Availability' section through most of my posts, to signify that if you want to nab it for your story, go right ahead. Just make sure to leave a small reference that it's borrowed or whatever in case multiple people decide to use the same skill, lest someone not from TFF or who didn't see this thread call one of you out on stealing ideas. :sisi:

These could sort of be considered Fullbending but I've basically gone for a bunch of tricks you could pull off with Fullbringing.

Name: Fullsensing

User: Fullbringer

Ability: A unique type of sensing available to Fullbringers using the earth, water and earth. By Fullbringing one of these substances, they are able to establish a connection with it by linking with its soul.

Through the earth they can sense vibrations in the ground to sense their surroundings as precisely as normal sight, if not better. They can sense object, people, and other aspects of their environment as it essentially acts as sonar. This can allow them to sense things that are barely visible or imperceptible to the naked eye as well as things out of their line of sight. Obstacles that would normally obstruct regular vision, such as walls and thick dust clouds, are rendered ineffective against it. It does not only provide surface vision, as the vibrations also travel underground, enabling the user to effectively detect caverns and other deep subterranean cavities.

Through the air they can become attuned to the vibrations echoing through the air, speed of the air flow and any changes in temperature. They have a 360 degree sense of awareness, allowing them to ôseeö in any or all directions, simultaneously perceiving the three-dimensional shape and exact location of all objects. The same can be done in or on the water which can additionally sense the presence and movement of any water currents as well as anything moving within the water.


Name: Explosion

User: Fullbringer

Ability: The user is able to make an objectÆs molecules begin rapidly speed up their movement to increase its thermal energy. This molecule movement causes so much heat and friction that the object combusts or explodes. This can also be used on air particles to produce explosions within the surrounding atmosphere.

Name: Disintegration

User: Fullbringer

Ability: The user is able to cause the bonds holding the molecules of matter together to lose cohesion, causing to matter to disperse into dust. This can be useful for destroying constructs and obstacles or producing holes to enter or exit a building.

Name: Liquefaction

User: Fullbringer

Ability: By causing the molecules of matter to merge together and thus lose total physical cohesion, they can cause them to liquefy. Viscosity depends on the object being liquefied; if it has high water content then the object could become completely water like liquid. If the object is rock like or inorganic, then it will become a thick and mud-like liquid, while metal would become like mercury

Name: Glaciation

User: Fullbringer

Ability: The user can reduce the kinetic energy of matterÆs atoms to make them colder, essentially removing their thermal energy. This is able to make objects extremely fragile, extinguish flames, cool hot objects, turn water into ice, rain into snow and humid air into fog.

Name: Memorisation

User: Fullbringer

Ability: A variation of soul manipulation which allows the user to see the historical memories or sensations of an object. They can divine information about an object simply by coming into contact with it, potentially seeing visions of the creators and its past users.


And some bankai for variety.

Name: Bankai: Nejibana Toyotama, Twister Flower Luminous Jewel

User: Shiba Kaien

Ability: This bankai takes the form of twelve glowing orbs of water that orbit Kaien and are filled with his spiritual energy. They are actually composed of huge volumes of water that have been compressed into a small shape. Kaien can release, shape and direct all their water at will to produce numerous effects. He can create giant waves to wash away his enemies, whips to lash out, high-press jets to blow them away or giant serpent to consume and drown them. Kaien can use the jewels individually or as a group depend on the level of power he wants to use.


Name: Bankai: Hakumei no Wabisuke, Misfortune of the Wretched One

User: Izuru Kira

Ability: This is an area-of-effect bankai which creates a giant cage of steel around Kira and his opponent to trap them both inside. Its special effect causes everyone but Kira to experience the ever-increasing weight of gravity, hindering them by making them feel heavier and heavier until become completely incapable of movement. Unlike his shikai, striking his opponent has no effect and their weight doesnÆt double each time. Instead the gravity gradually increases with every passing moment. In comparison, KiraÆs weight remains the same which makes it appear as if he is moving much faster than his opponent.

How long an opponent can remain standing depends on their reiatsu and physical strength but eventually everyone succumbs to their own weight. The best way to deal with this bankai is to force its deactivation as soon as possible.

Hollow time agogo! Changing the parameters a bit since in this case it's mostly random monsters. Going for breed and adding a bounty parameter, which was barely touched upon early in the series but might be relevant if you actually do stuff with early Bleach. The only one I recall was Shrieker, who killed two shinigami and had a bounty of '5000'. Value's kinda arbitrary, but I'm going to make a logical leap that a Gillian is effectively 100,000 in terms of bounty as the 'grand daddy' of hollows and work my way down from there with more basic hollows.

Notably Grand Fishers bounty I'm scaling to about 25,000. Pretty nice for a hollow who has evaded capture for 50 years and isn't of the huge class. :sisi:


Name: Earth Render

Breed: Huge Hollow

Bounty: 32,000

Ability: A massive brown sharklike hollow whose special ability is to effectively move through the earth like it's water, utilizing a very special kind of portal ability to hunt souls effectively from below without anyone being aware it's there. It also has a very powerful ability to sense vibrations through the earth, allowing it to precisely pinpoint any movements along the ground. It has powerful jaws that can rip practically anything apart and its dorsal fin is bladed allowing it to slice through anything effectively as it passes through from underneath the earth. Moreover when fighting foes that take to the air, it is fully capable of ripping huge amounts of dirt out of the ground with its tail and tossing them at the airborne foes. In particularly rare cases of intelligence, it will also sometimes hide in these boulders it tosses, jumping out after the opponent dodges for a surprise attack from behind.

This beast tends to favor killing humans randomly in parks and is notorious for several rampages throughout its long history where dozens died before Shinigami could arrive to try to stop it. It is not noticeably intelligent but does get aggressive if attacked. It's also known to be very patient, waiting until a shinigami's guard is down, letting them think it fled before biting at them from below. However at the same time if it feels it is outmatched too much it will flee, and there's little the shinigami can do to stop it. Moreover if its foes take to the sky too much rendering it's primary skill worthless, it has been known to lose interest in a fight, taking off to rip through any tasty humans it can find instead.

Name: Stamphammer H

Breed: Huge Hollow

Bounty: 57,000

Ability: A huge violet hollow with a Horse like mask and satyr legs it uses to move around quite quickly. However its main form of offense is it's long powerful arms that end in heavy hooves. The arms are exceedingly long for its body, fully capable of touching the ground when fully extended as the creature stands upright, and in a pinch this hollow can use those arms to help itself run or turn at high speeds.

However the most dangerous aspect of these arms is its ability to retract the length of its long arm into its elbow, greatly shortening the arms massive length as it stores up tremendous amounts of force. It can then release the arm in an instant, slamming it's hoof forward with incredible power to crush anything that stands in its way. It can both use this attack to create an incredible earthquake that cracks the very earth, topples buildings, and causes a localized tremor, or use this ability in rapid succession, creating a jackhammer like effect on both of it's arms that if done fast enough can send off several concussive waves of force off at distant foes.

Because of this hollow's quick speed and devastating power it has killed many shinigami in its time, and evaded capture for decades. Though it has never been heard to speak, it is thought that this hollow is every bit as intelligent as it is cruel.

Name: Viceclaw

Breed: Huge Hollow

Bounty: 46,000

Ability: A Massive red Crab like hollow with four incredibly strong crab claws it uses to devastating effect and a powerful defensive shell that renders most shinigami blades ineffective. This hollow is noticeably devastating against groups of Shinigami, but due to its lack of speed its often forced to flee when it gets in too over its head. The hollow while capable of speech appears exceedingly dumb, and tends to only come up with relatively simple tactics unless given direction by other hollows.

It's main method of attack is to use its for claws to crush or slice enemies into pieces, and in a pinch it can spin its entire body rapidly while holding its claws out for a devastatingly powerful attack that can crush anything that gets close. Moreover it can spray powerful streams of water out of its mouth to knock foes about and leave them open to its claws, and its legs also work as powerful spears in a pinch, even allowing it to walk up walls. Even the spikes along its body can be fired off if the creature is provoked enough.

Its weak point however seems to be its long spindly legs that can get knocked around to throw the creature off balance if it faces too many enemies at once, since it seems to be able to keep track of only so many shinigami with its large body and limited range of sight. It's belly is also is much softer than the top of its shell, which is why this hollow tries to keep its body as low to the ground as possible.

Name: Bulbous C

Breed: Huge Hollow

Bounty: 54,000

Ability: A variant of Bulbous G that is larger and has large hollowed out parts extending out from it's elbow to the top and on both sides of both of its fists. These Tubes basically function as cannons, allowing it to fire energy blasts either all at once in a massive burst or in rapid succession in smaller spreed blasts at targets at a distance. Moreover it can fire these canons at the moment it delivers a punch to add much more devastating force behind its blows.

Moreover this hollow also has three additional canons on its back facing down its spine that it can use to fire at foes behind it, or in a pinch can fire out longer blasts to give it a flying ability of a sort similar to a jetpack, allowing it to rain fire down on enemies from above. These canons can also move, swinging over so that they point over his shoulders and head respectively, giving it additional artillery it can use to fire at enemies in front of it.

Though this hollow is significantly lacking in intelligence, it makes up for that via the sheer amount of devastation it causes with every appearance it makes.

Edit: Actually scaling down bounty by a factor of 10 at least. I reread the bounty bit and apparently 5000 is a decent chunk of cash, which while it's for something that's only killed 2 shinigami should be fairly sizable. Increasing the value by 100 even for a higher class doesn't quite seem right with that in mind.

Now, though the values are still pretty arbitrary, it should be more manageable.

Name: Swampvolt

Breed: Huge Hollow

Bounty: 71,000

Ability: An especially nasty huge hollow with apparently no for of intelligence that is basically a mass of sickly looking blue slime with a large hole through it's center that basically has no actual physical form. Even the mask formed on top of its mass is effectively only some of it's own mass shaped oddly compared to the rest of its body. Not only does this make it exceedingly hard to kill, but even doing lasting damage on it proves exceedingly difficult for most shinigami. The creature is rumored to have some kind of core that will kill it if it's destroyed, but sadly given it's nature and the likelihood that this core can be moved out of the way of attacks like the rest of its mass, this is far easier said than done.

What makes this an especially hard hollow to deal with is that it generates an electric charge throughout its body that steadily paralyzes anything in contact with it. One of it's favorite methods of feeding involves taking spirits and shinigami inside it's body where it restrains them with its mass as it slowly digests them, the spirit in question unable to do anything as the charge keeps them from being able to resist. Worse still this Hollow has the ability to spit it's mass and generate spawnlings of varying size to also help it feed faster, able to take back in the spawn it generates to absorb the power it managed to find.

However one of it's nastiest abilities is the hollows power to super charge itself, generating huge amounts of electricity to shock anything within or in contact with it for huge amounts of damage. In conjunction with its spawnlings however this ability can cause lighting to arc between itself and its spawn, making it a very bad situation if a shinigami gets surrounded by the mass.

Further still the main body is prone to sending spawnlings out to feed while its main body remains in Hueco Mundo, so even on the off chance that the spawn is hit with an energy attack strong enough to 'kill' the spawn by overwhelming the electric charge, it suffers no loss at it can slowly regenerate the lost amount of mass. Notably even if pieces of this Hollow are cut off and overwhelmed, killing that portion of itself, it can take that portion back in and revitalize it, so the only way theorized to reliably kill this hollow is to destroy it all at once, or otherwise to hit the core.



Name: Smokereaper

Breed: Huge Hollow

Bounty: 69,000

Ability: A large but strangely thin hollow that somewhat resembles a stick figure with a thin mask with a sort of spike like a beak in the front, long arms with very sharp claws, very large and quick legs, and a spindly tail with a spike on the end. Even it's torso is exceedingly thin, it's hollow hole almost big enough to split its entire torso. However few have ever seen this hollows main body since usually this hollow is surrounded by a massive amount of volcanic sulfur that it generates, making it seem like this hollow is made up of nothing but smoke.

The smoke is especially nasty because it is absurdly toxic to breathe in, meaning it can effectively kill off people by just making sure to keep them surrounded by the smoke it generates. Moreover it can heat up the smoke, meaning it's not only toxic to breathe, but it's also hot enough to burn even a shinigami's flesh if they come in contact with it. Finally lightning can also be generated by the smoke mass, allowing it to in dangerous situations shock anything close enough to the smoke cloud with lightning.

On top of this the hollow is fully capable of fighting as well. Being exceedingly quick and very perceptive, this hollow full utilizes the smoke shroud obscuring it from view and its thin body to avoid attacks fired at it, and also uses the cover to attack with its claws and tail when possible. Not being particular strong despite its size, it makes up for this immensely with its quick speed and precision, seemingly completely unaffected by its sight being obscured by the mass of smoke always surrounding it, leading many to theorize that it doesn't hunt based on sight.


Name: Sidewinder

Breed: Hollow

Bounty: 23,000

Ability: A small regular hollow which has a lithe figure with feet more like a spike that give it high traction, clawed arms with spikes on the end of its elbows, and four appendages on its back that move like spiders legs that end with blades. It also has some kind of exhaust ports on its back it can use for propulsion to help it speed forward even faster. Needles to say, this hollow is quick and lethal, with many means of attack and very high speed, which has helped it avoid defeat by shinigami for decades.

With its bladed appendages it can block a Zanpakuto while still being fully capable of attacking, making it not only hard to kill, but also very dangerous even against entire squads of shinigami. Naturally it's tendency to cause just enough trouble to call the shinigami to it that it seems to enjoy feasting on has only lead to its high bounty nearly reaching the level of a Huge Hollow despite the simplistic nature of its powers.

Name: Bankai: Kokuj Tengen My'

User: Komamura

Ability: Komamura's Bankai which naturally summons the giant samurai warrior that mirrors his movements. Though this seems like an incredibly simple and unwieldy bankai, it turns out that this Bankai has several functions that are not immediately obvious to opponents that make it much more useful than it appears. Obviously any damage the Giant takes will be reflected on Komamura's body as well, but the true nature of this ability is that Komamura himself cannot be directly harmed so long as his bankai is active.

What this means is that while any damage done to the giant is scaled and reflected on Komamura's body, the same is not true in reverse. If the opponent attempts to attack Komamura with a slash powerful enough normally to cleave his chest open, the damage will be significantly reduced to either nothing or a very small cut depending on how powerful it is. This is because any damage attempted on Komamura is instead treated as an attack on the Giant, so only if the attack is powerful enough to do any amount of damage to the giant in the same place struck will it be reflected on Komamura's body.

Essentially this ability makes it seem like Komamura has some kind of barrier active around him at all times in bankai, but what instead is actually happening is that his body basically IS Kokuj Tengen My' as long as its active. So in order to damage him normally, you'd have to hit him with an attack strong enough to do the same amount of damage to his bankai instead. Since his bankai is armored and insanely durable, this means damaging Komamura is next to impossible if the opponent cannot inflict any amount of damage on the giant, which few save Aizen could pull off with any sort of ease.

Another feature of Komamura's bankai is that it can preform any attack that he can on an appropriately scaled level, meaning if Komamura uses a basic fireball kido, the giant will preform the same move at the same time, leading to two fireballs being cast at the same time, one significantly more massive and powerful than the other.

Though the giant does generally mirror Komamura's movements perfectly, there's also a bit of mental auto correct in key scenarios that helps it keep the appropriate distance and angle of attacks to avoid hitting Komamura haphazardly, which while obscenely useful can also serve to slow the giant down a bit as it compensates if he tries to rush attacks during a fight with no care for his position. This auto correct can be bypassed so the giant moves at full speed as necessary, but doing so almost assures he'll get hit by his own attacks. Though those attacks still will be reduced since he's still hitting the giant's body instead, the giant's swings are still powerful enough to damage itself regardless.

Similarly Komamura's bankai, much like his Zanpakuto spirit Tenken, has a few basic fire related techniques it can use in special situations: <a href='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02w2J1P398I' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02w2J1P398I</a>

One of its techniques involves slamming it's free hand or feet into the ground which summons massive black ropes with metal rings on the end like the spirit carries, which come up from underneath the earth in a huge area around him to tie down and subdue large numbers of enemies, or exceedingly large foes. Notably this technique mainly works best on grounded enemies, since the ropes can be avoided much easier in the sky. Moreover Komamura himself can also summon much smaller versions of these ropes at will independent of the giant to nab smaller foes around himself in a pinch.

He can infuse fire into either type of ropes to cause them to burn anything caught within or even to make them explode, or strike at the now tied down enemies with his giant's sword, which he can also infuse with fire to add heat damage and fire off a wave of flames at the enemy, a technique also reflected with Komamura's own sword in this state as well. The giant even has a fire breath attack it can use in a pinch, yet another skill that can also be reflected in Komamura when he activates it.





Bit of buffing to Komamura because his bankai gets the shaft quite a bit, I rather like what I did there with it. Helps explain the absurd weakness by shifting it to be a strength in a weird sort of way instead, which mainly works in canon since he tends to only fight absurdly powerful people. :sweat2:

Awesome work. Whenever I imagine Komamura fight, I struggle to see why an opponent wouldn't just attack the most obvious weak spot i.e. his real body. Problem solved. And his bankai scaling up his kido? You read my mind.

I don't particularly trust the character designs from the filler arc when Kubo so obviously changed a couple of them but it works here. I'd also throw in that his bankai automatically dematerialises if it suffers a lethal wound so that Komamura isn't outright killed by it.

Actually that brief bit on Karin and Yuzu gives me a nice idea for what they'd specialize in. Karin with a halberd is actually pretty nifty, but instead of focus on the energy attacks there, I'd actually focus on the 'resummoning' aspect.

Give the spear the primary ability of warping, allowing her to throw it while also being able to alter its direction by just warping it so that it points in the desired direction, shift it into an enemies body to cause damage, and then drastically increases her close range capacity by allowing her to shift it in any position in her hands, making it exceedingly hard to damage her since she can just shift the spear to block with little hassle.

Oh she can have energy attacks and an ultimate throw on the side, but capitalize on that aspect would likely be more interesting. Likely precision would be an issue and there would need to be a small delay to balance it, but you can work with quite a lot with that alone.


For Yuzu actually I'd focus on something small. A dagger probably. Primary ability of duplication, Yuzu's shikai is a dagger in her hand which she can duplicate, either letting her fight with two daggers, or summon large numbers of daggers that with telekinesis she can fire at enemies, or slash her real shikai in the air, allowing the duplicate daggers flowing around her to follow a similar arc to her attack, meaning a wall of daggers is now slashing in front of her or what have you.

She could also use that wall of daggers to block attacks obviously, though at the same time there's likely going to be only so much they can take. Would also make her shikai somewhat similar to Komamura's in an indirect sort of way so she could work together with him to start to learn the limits of it. Like the Kurosaki family at large she probably also has some energy capacity to it, likely just able to charge the duplicate daggers to increase their cutting power and firing speed, but focus on the duplication/telekinesis part and we have something more interesting to work with.

Some interesting changes to the arrancar too I must say, I particularly like the whole cerberus thing you went with for Yammi's dog, adds an intriguing aspect to it, not unlike Guardian Fullbring, which is an interesting way to spin it.

Anyway one more to add to my 'improve bankai' trend I only just started:



Name: Bankai: Jakuh Raikben

User: Soifon

Ability: A bankai that turns Soifon's weapon into an absurdly powerful missile launcher with one very obvious function, but the bankai itself also has several other features that make it more useful in general situations. One of these feature is the fact that the missile itself can open up, revealing several microrockets the missile can fire off instead that track enemies and can be fired at multiple different targets at once.

Though obviously nowhere near as powerful as the main missile, these seeking missiles are potent in their own right, though using them also reduces the power of the main missile if she chooses to fire it right after. It's often more useful for Soifon to use her foot to activate that reiatsu tracing kido before using the seeking missle feature, since knowing the exact position of all enemies makes it FAR easier for the missiles to aim true.

In addition after firing the missile Soifon is actually capable of resummoning another instantly without deactivating her bankai if she so desires, though this feature of it is rarely used since using the missile multiple times significantly drains her. She can also however reload up on seeking missiles instead, allowing her to fire off multiple volleys, which is less draining even if it still takes a toll on her.

Finally when she is no longer able to summon a missile or purposefully discards it, even the empty state of her bankai serves a purpose. Soifon can supercharge this state with energy, which allows her to turn the empty launcher into a sort of energy whip that becomes very effective in combat. The cutting power of this 'Thunder whip' (GET IT?) is more effective the more reiatsu she retains, so using it after using the main missile more than once significantly reduces its power.

Soifon actually vastly prefers this method since in it the weight of her bankai is significantly reduced without the missile, letting her actually able to utilize her speed somewhat in this state. However the whip itself, basically in the shape of the missile only extended out to strike at foes, is still too large and awkward to use for her liking, meaning she still tries to avoid using it where she can.

Name: Bankai: Ryuumon Hoozukimaru, Dragon Crest Demon Light

User: Madarame Ikkaku

Ability: This bankai takes the form of an over-sized three-section weapon set with a monkÆs spade, a guan dao and a dragon-crested axe-like blade. This bankai offers no special abilities or defensive properties, instead all its power is focused on attacking. It becomes increasingly powerful as the fight drags on, needing to be æwokenÆ through causing and receiving injury. As its reiatsu builds, the dragon crest is filled with crimson dye and once itÆs completely filled then Hoozukimaru is at full power.

If one or two of the blades are destroyed, this actually makes the weapon more lethal than before as all its attacking power is focused in the remain blade. Even without that, Ikkaku can change his bankaiÆs form by issuing the command ôConnectö. This causes the three sections to combine into an oversized naginata with a single, dragon-crested blade which has all the bankaiÆs point focused at the tip.


Name: Shikai: Hisagomaru, Gourd

User: Yamada Hanatarou

Ability: By HanatarouÆs will, this zanpakuto is constantly released so that its special effect is always active. It has the ability to heal injuries but how this works depends on the type of soul itÆs used on. When used on a regular soul like a shinigami, it is able to heal practically any injury whilst being unable to cause any damage. When used on a hollow, its distorted nature works against it and the zanpakutoÆa healing power actually causes them damage. Every time the sword heals, the gauge along the blade is filled with like consistent with the level of the injury. When the gauge is filled, Hisagomaru changes form into a scalpel. This concentrates every wound it has absorbed into one massive attack that is usually initiated with a slashing movement that generates a stream of red energy somewhat similar to a Cero, powerful enough to deal a near-fatal wound to a Gillian-class Menos. After this, the scalpel returns to its original form.

Name: Bankai: Giman no Uoza, Deceit of Pisces

User: Ukitake Juushiro

Ability: This bankai creates a large set of fans with a fish design and saw-like teeth which spin rapidly in the air, moving to UkitakeÆs will. The fans are able to absorb an enemyÆs energy attacks and send it to the other fan, strengthening and accelerating it along the way before firing it back at the target. But instead of a connecting rope, the fans are linked through a sub-dimension which makes the transfer happen instantly and Ukitake can change the position of the fans so that the attack comes from a different direction entirely.

In addition to this, Ukitake can choose to retain an absorbed attack instead of sending it back immediately. This allows him to fire it at an opportune moment or even continue to absorb attacks and build the power of his next strike. His fans are also able to æmemoriseÆ the attacks that have absorbed, allowing Ukitake to release a copy of it using his own power without needing to absorb anything first. However, this version will naturally be inferior to the original and is generally used to catch the opponent off-guard.


Name: Shikai: Kazeshini, Wind Death

User: Hisagi Shuuhei

Ability: This zanpakuto takes the form of two kusarigama-like weapons each with two scythe blades, with one inverted, giving it the resemblance of a pinwheel. The blades are connected to a spiked rod tethered together by a long chain. While in Shikai form, Kazeshini can be swung by its chains in large circles, allowing the bladed portion to spin like a fan. The chains are extendible, giving Hisagi great ranged ability. Kazeshini can also be used for entangling an opponent's sword, or other weapons; it can even immobilize opponents.

Its special ability is to generate razor-sharp black winds from its blade, projecting crescent blades of air at the opponent to cut through their body. This can also be used to produce cyclones of black wind which lift and toss away the opponent whilst shredding their body.

Name: Shikai: Gonryoumaru, Solemn Spirit

User: Sasakibe Choujirou

Ability: This zanpakuto takes the form of a rapier. Its ability sheath the blade in lightning which causes it to shock ChoujirouÆs opponent and he pierces their body. He can shoot bolts of lightning from the blade which are able to strike his opponent from a distance, forcing them to suffer from an intense electrocution.


Name: Shikai: Itegumo, Frozen Cloud

User: Kotetsu Isane

Ability: This zanpakuto is able to create a freezing mist of water and ice particles which blanket the area around Isane, hiding her within. Her reiatsu is disguised within the mist and she is able to sense all movement within the mist through how the particles of disturbed. The mist steadily drains the energy of those trapping within, absorbing their spiritual energy and using it to cool down the victimÆs body through a slow freezing process, slowing their movement and lessening their awareness.


Name: Shikai: Haguro Tonbo, Iron Drink Dragonfly

User: Yadomaru Lisa

Ability: This zanpakuto takes the form of a long pole arm with a monk spade blade on one end, and a heavy ball on the other. At LisaÆs command, the pole arm is able to spin rapidly without her needing to move it. She can then use the force produced by this high speed movement to provide incredible crushing power when smashed into the enemy. She makes it hover close to her body so that it can still be used like a melee weapon even though she isnÆt touching it.

Name: Bankai: Hihiou Zabimaru, Baboon King Snake Tail

User: Abarai Renji

Ability: This bankai takes the form of a giant bone whip made of segments and a skeletal snake head. Instead of cutting, it is made to smash into RenjiÆs enemies or crush them within its teeth. As every segment that composes its form is connected by RenjiÆs reiryoku, he is able to separate and reattach them at will. The segments themselves are extremely tough, making it extremely difficult to destroy Hihiou Zabimaru. Even if a segment is damaged, knocked off, or even destroyed, Renji can simply detach it and reform Zabimaru.

Renj can detach one or more segments and drop them down around the target, inverting the spikes so that they face the inside towards the victim. The segment is then made to shrink in size, piercing through their body and crushing them at the same time. He can also separate the segments and make them surround the targetÆs body, linking them back together to form ropes of reiryoku around the target. Another technique involves Renji sharpening ZabimaruÆs spikes with his reiryoku and then making all the segments rotate at high speeds, creating a chainsaw-like effect which allows it to tear through everything in its path.

He can use his Higa Zekkou in this form, where all the segments detach, glow and sharpen using spiritual energy. They surround the opponent and execute an omni-directional attack of blades of spiritual energy. After use of this attack Hihiou Zabimaru reconstitutes itself. His Hikotsu Taihou, Baboon Bone Cannon, fires a dense blast of concentrated spiritual energy from Zabimaru's mouth. The technique costs a substantial amount of energy from Renji which usually causes an aftermath that breaks the segments out of formation. An alternative form of this hardens the reiryoku into a sphere which explodes impact.


Name: Shikai: Suzumushi, Cricket

User: Kaname Tousen

Ability: This zanpakuto is able to project a high-pitched tone over a wide area. Depending on the strength of the opponent, its effect ranges from overloading the hearing of anyone in range and knocking them unconscious to causing disorientation and a loss of balance. The sound is produce by the vibration of Suzumushi which can be used to increase its cutting power and radiate through the air to cause internal damage to an opponent.

Name: Bankai: Suzumushi Tsukishiki: Enma Kourogi, Cricket Final Form: Devil Cricket

User: Kaname Tousen

Ability: This bankai sets up a black sphere with removes the senses of spiritual energy, hearing, scent, sight and sound. The inside of the dome is a closed loop of space, meaning that it is inescapable from the inside by means of reaching its boundaries. ItÆs even possible for those inside to injure themselves by releasing an attack which comes back at them from a different direction, only serving to heighten their confusion and terror. Whilst the main focus of the bankai is within the dome, the dome wall is able to serve as a powerful protection, capable of acting like a shield to defend against external attacks.


Name: Shikai: Suzumebachi, Hornet

User: Soifon

Ability: SoifonÆs Nigeki Kessatsu, Death in Two Steps, leaves a butterfly-shaped stamp on the victimÆs body when she wounds them and if struck in the same spot, the victim inevitably die. Her mastery of her zanpakuto allows her to fully controlling its death-dealing properties; she can choose to kill the mind to leave the victim catatonic permanently or temporarily or focus its effects on specific limbs and organs. In rare examples, she can ækillÆ foreign toxins and poisons that enter the body though this is an extremely dangerous endeavour.


Hope those were interesting enough. Figured that Ikkaku's was a good way to show how it could potentially grow and I mostly had that theoretical fight against Nnoitra in mind. Hanatarou's was completely anime-only so I just played around with that weirdass zanpakuto entirely. The bankai was inspired by Naruto's Susanoo since I wasn't sure what else could go with a giant gourd, though you could make the gourd that be and end all by having it sucks up anything and spit it back out. Ukitake's was originally a pair of fish but I ended up going with what the anime did with Sogyo no Kotowari.

I've also been trying and failing to make Superchunky into something more interesting. Did Chojiro's since it isn't difficult to figure out how that was supposed to work and we'll never actually since it in action now. I'm iffy on Hisagi's bankai; the shape's a no-brainer but I could probably refine it abilities a bit more. :hmm:

I expanded Hanatarou's myself ages ago in this thread, going with a more Blood Gourd angle with it, allowing for blood manipulation. I also designed bankai's for Ukitake and Shunsui a while ago, though I hadn't posted them and probably won't since it's only a matter of time at this point. Similar to Tousen though, I made both of them have Zone Based Bankai with certain special properties. Hell, Kyoraku's shikai is already zone based in itself. :snigger:

I also designed a bankai for Hisagi, but it also went for a different approach. More a Fuuma Shurriken angle than Scythe specifically, one likely with similar properties to this bit:



For added awesome. Also might have granted it the ability to fire out or extend the blades with chains or something, and replace them if damaged, and potentially split the thing into multiple Shurriken all connected by a chain of his reiatsu for ease of throwing, and making the whole thing more complex, a logical expansion of his shikai. Might have also added a rotating tornado sort of attack where it fires off blades along with the huge funnel of wind. I've also been rather entranced by this ability too:

Might go into all of these at a later time though, just to solidify the concepts if nothing else.

Superchunky is something I wanted to work on too, since it was a massive disappointment. I was considering a sort of natural evolution of Mindless Gillian angle, the thing supposedly a mass of Gillian who piled onto each other and fused, so it's entire mass is a shifting hive of menos. Which alone would give you a whole mass of interesting ways to take it. Might go into this later too. :snigger:

How did I not see the shuriken idea? I was even annoyed that the only thing I could come up with was a scythe since I already had Rukia with a similar bankai. As well as the fact I had been considering a shuriken for one of the unknown zanpakuto. Woe is me.

Name: Bankai: Tensa Zangetsu, Heavenly Chain Slaying Moon

User: Kurosaki Ichigo

Ability: Ichigo takes all the power of his Bankai and compresses it into a small, condensed form. His cleaver sword shrinks down to a daito with a black blade, the cross guard has four prongs in the shape of a manji and a short length of chain with a broken link at the end dangles from base of the hilt. His clothing is replaced by a long-sleeved, ankle-length black coat that is closed at his chest, then left to flare out into ragged ends, much like that of Zangetsu himself. This coat is part of Ichigo's Bankai and the damage it can take is directly proportionate to the remaining strength and level of Ichigo's reiatsu.

Tensa Zangetsu compresses IchigoÆs reiatsu which has been greatly amplified from the bankai, turning black in appearance and granting Ichigo an extreme boost to his abilities. His strength, speed, reflexes, durability, stamina, physical and spiritual senses, spiritual power and reishi manipulation are all significantly increased whilst in this form. Furthermore, because this bankai compresses his power instead of creating a huge construct, it doesnÆt expel as much reiatsu and allows it to be maintained for a far longer duration.

Due to its unusual nature, this bankai is the easiest to use. Usually a shinigami would spend years of training to master their bankai whereas IchigoÆs doesnÆt provide him with any abilities he doesnÆt already have, allowing him to use it effectively in battle immediately.

In the same way, this bankai doesnÆt evolve through training the same way that other bankai do. The growth of IchigoÆs bankai is directly proportional to the growth of his own skills; it will only reach the peak of its power when Ichigo himself reaches his own without it. Regardless of how fast and strong Ichigo becomes, his bankai will always allow him to push past those limits to attain a greater level of power.


My interpretation on Ichigo's bankai though it's possible that Kubo's gonna debunk this in future somehow. For this, any new techniques Ichigo would have would be ones he could attain with his shikai.

User: Kurosaki Karin

Ability: This zanpakuto takes the form of a ji, a Chinese halberd, with a pair of small crescent blades attached to the head and a blue hair-tail where the head is fixed at the shaft. Its design made it efficient for slashing, thrusting, battering, scything and sweeping, giving it a wide range of attack.

Its ability focuses KarinÆs spiritual energy within the halberd which is then propelled forwards in a super-fast thrust. Her form is fused with the soaring lance when the ability is active, turning into a destructive comet that pierces through the target. Whilst the technique possess both speed and power, itÆs impossible to alter its trajectory after it begins which forces it to move in a straight line until the move is complete, making it very predictable.

Its second ability has Karin charge the lance with spiritual energy and then throws it at her opponent. The energy accumulated within the lance causes it to accelerate after being thrown, achieving far greater speeds than would be possible with just throwing power. At the point of impact, all that accumulated energy is released in a destructive blast of energy that blows everything away. Whilst powerful, the technique has the disadvantage of leaving KarinÆs unarmed during it usage though she eventually learns to have the lance transport itself instantly back into her hands.


Name: Shikai: Senrugetsu, Transient Moon

User: Kurosaki Yuzu

Ability: This zanpakuto splits into ten double-edged daggers with identical designs.

Yuzu can choose to wield these daggers in melee, throw them as projectile or have them move through the air through telekinesis. As her experience with the zanpakuto grows, she becomes able to initiate more complicated manoeuvres that allow her to strike her opponent from difficult positions with precise timing.

However the daggerÆs main abilities are two-fold; Yuzu can teleport herself to the location of any one of her daggers and she can teleport her daggers to any location within a certain range. With the first ability she can instantly move out of her opponentÆs line of sight and allow her to attack from an entirely different angle. The second ability allows her to transport her daggers to her opponentÆs blind spot which, when combined with her remote control, greatly increases their range of movement and the lethality of her attacks.


Name: Shikai: Engetsu, Scathing Moon

User: Kurosaki Isshin

Ability: This zanpakuto has no definite form but when it is first released its appearance remains the same as its sealed state.

Its ability allows the zanpakuto to transform into any type of melee weapon that Isshin has seen before or possesses knowledge of including different types of swords, axes, spears, hammers, knife etc. His experience with the zanpakuto makes it so the transformations are instantaneous and he reproduces the ideal shape every time.

But that is only the most basic ability; the true power of this zanpakuto lies in its ability to mimic any zanpakuto that he has seen in their shikai state. This requires him to be within the vicinity of the targetÆs reiatsu for a certain period of time for his zanpakuto to absorb traces of it, allowing him to imitate their physical form and/or utilise any of their abilities. Naturally, these abilities are often inferior to their original and Isshin is limited to a single transformation at a time. Though it has only been tested once in the past, he is only able to mimic the zanpakuto of shinigami, not a hybrid species like the arrancar.

Name: Bankai: Awaisanzen Engetsu, Pale Radiance Scathing Moon

User: Kurosaki Isshin

Ability: Like its shikai, this zanpakuto has no definite for, being both invisible and intangible.

This bankai allows Isshin to manifest any kind of melee weapon he has seen before or possesses knowledge of within a certain range of his own body. He can summon a near-infinite number of weapons that can be copies of a single one or a random assortment of different types. He can hold them or have them levitate in the air around him, making them move according to his will without even needing to touch them.

In addition to these unspecific weapons, Isshin can also manifest any zanpakuto that he has witnessed before and use it as his own weapon. Not only that but he can summon multiple zanpakuto simultaneously and have access to all their abilities instead of being limited to one at a time. Though the power and effectiveness of their abilities remain the same as in shikai, mean he has to focus on using different effects instead of stronger ones. (Warning: This power isn't compliant with Final Getsuga concept)


Name: Bankai: Makazeshini, Demon Wind Death

User: Hisagi Shuuhei

Ability: This bankai takes the form of a pair of windmill shuriken; a boomerang-type projectile with four curved blades protruding from the inner circle. Hisagi is able to manipulate the movements of the shuriken by controlling the air currents, forcing them to spin independently so they are able to saw through targets. He can choose to make it rotate around his wrist for melee combat, allowing him to deflect attacks or slice his opponents.

Its ability allows it to produce tornadoes of black wind from the centre of the shuriken, enabling it to blow targets away and shred them with high speed winds. Hisagi can focus his spiritual energy into the circle to create a sphere of highly compressed wind that is filled with countless microscopic blades of wind. When released, it creates a destructive vortex which is able to cut through anything caught within range on a cellular level.


Name: Bankai: Ijikitanai Hisagomaru, Gluttonous Gourd

User: Yamada Hanataro

Ability: This bankai creates a beige-coloured gourd with a black line spiralling from the base to the tip which Hanatarou holds close to him. The gourd produces a unique suction effect that doesnÆt affect the atmosphere at all but only living organisms within the range of his reiatsu.

For humans and pluses, any and all physical injuries they possess are healed as they are converted into red smoke which is drawn into the gourd. At the same time it draws in their physical fatigue to restore their stamina so they can continue to fight at peak condition. For hollows the gourd produces the opposite effect. It continually drains their physical stamina to gradually increase their fatigue and at the same time, re-opens all the wounds that the hollows have ever been inflicted with.

As the red mist is absorbed, the black line is filled up with a red line to signify how full the gourd has become. Hanatarou is able to convert this energy into destructive force and fire it as a beam of energy akin to a Cero. The more the gourd has been filled, the more powerful the blast and at full strength, there is practically nothing capable of surviving the blow.


Name: Nerv, Nerve

User: Quincy

Ability: This is one of the Quincy body-enhancement techniques that functions independently from Blut. By absorbing reishi and making it flow through their nervous system, the Quincy is able to stimulate their neural synapses.

One version of this is Nerv Sinne, Nerve Sense, which is able to enhance the QuincyÆs sense of touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight. They can choose to enhance one or more these senses depending on their intention which significantly increases their awareness of their surroundings. In fact, Quincy has been using this version unconsciously for generations as they enhance their sense of sight to help their marksmanship. However using this can be hazardous should one or more of their sense by overly stimulated, causing a painful mental feedback.

The second version if Nerv Gang, Nerve Gear, which is able to allow the Quincy to react faster to danger and push their physical process to their limit. They become capable of moving at far greater speeds than normal, striking with greater force and become able to evade attacks that they normally wouldnÆt be able to. Similarly to Blut, these two versions work on different reishi systems which prevent them from being used simultaneously. A master of the technique would be capable of combining this with their Blut to improve their offensive ability or ability to block and evade attacks.


Name: Suika, Hydration

User: N/A

Ability: This is a natural ability which allows the user to liquefy their entire body at will, changing it from solid to liquid or vice versa as they desire. This allows them to avoid receiving damage from physical attacks, infiltrate a structure, drown a target or modify their body parts for suitable situations. ItÆs possible for them to release this water in the form of attacks such as high-pressure jets or bullets which can slice or pierce through most obstacles with ease.

An advanced form of this ability available to the user allows them to enter a gaseous state which transforms them into mist. The mist itself is their body and they become aware of everything within its reach, disguising the userÆs location whilst rendering visibility to zero. As mist the user is unable to cause damage but they can choose to reform their body parts to strike at the enemy whilst they remain unaware.

Though itÆs not often that circumstance permit it, this ability can be taken to further hides when near a large body of water. By merging with said water, the user becomes able to use it as if it were a part of their own body by infusing it with their spiritual energy. Primarily this increases the scale of the userÆs techniques as they are no longer limited by their own body mass but rely on the natural source of water instead.


Name: Kafuka, Overload

User: Kon

Ability: This ability stems from the artificial nature of KonÆs soul and the boosted abilities he was developed with. Due to the mod soul experiment being terminated almost as soon as it was completed, there was very little data on the capabilities of mod souls beyond what they were designed with. None were involved in real combat for any length of time. KonÆs proximity with Kurosaki Ichigo and his friends, as well as being regularly caught up in various conflicts resulted in his abilities evolving beyond what his creators thought possible.

The most basic aspect of this ability and the only one Kon is consciously aware of is his legs becoming as hard and as dense as steel, increasing their strength to provide incredibly leg power. But this only provides a bare hint of his true capabilities and is not limited to his legs.

Overload causes a fundamental charge within KonÆs body, whether human or gigai, which transforms it from flesh and blood into a mechanical humanoid. Appearance-wise, it remains looking like a regular human when not in use but in actuality it becomes more like a machine. KonÆs entire body becomes made of steel, possessing numerous types of weaponry and implements within and its freedom of movement differs greatly from an ordinary human body.

Kon can alter the nature of his vision to produce different types of sight depending on the situation, allowing him to see in the dark, view heat energy, see through physical and spiritual matter, tracking spiritual energy or track high-speed movement.

He is able to remodel his right arm to produce different types of melee weaponry for use in close combat. His left arm can be used to fire projectiles of spiritual energy in the form of bullets or lasers by producing boosters from his palms or fingers or transforming his entire arm into a cannon. His legs are able to produce missiles of spiritual energy which can be fired at the target and explode upon impact. He can produce propulsion from his feet to initiate flight and can also fire either of his arms as projectiles which move according to his will. The quantity and power of these are dependent on the amount of spiritual energy Kon possesses.

The unusual nature of this power lends itself to unsurpassed versatility and adaptability. Depending on KonÆs intentions, itÆs possible that he could alter the armaments within his body to focus in a specific direction such as changing all his weaponry into missiles, allowing him a greater number of option with only that weapon type.


Name: Bankai: Miyagi Benihime, Imperial Palace Crimson Princess

User: Urahara Kisuke

Ability: The construct produced by this bankai is a translucent apparition of a Japanese-style castle that expands outwards from KisukeÆs position to engulf the area. It is composed of crimson energy and is shaped into the basic outline of a castle rather than a complete reconstruction, built in a square shape and multi-tiered. The ghostly aspect of it makes it seem different from a barrier and it is actually easy to penetrate.

But escaping from the castle is another matter altogether. The main ability of this bankai is for the energy that composes it to continually corrode the flesh of any soul caught within its realm, dissolving them into the same blood mist that fills the air. It is akin to being surrounded by poison that attacks the victim from without and within until they are completely destroyed. As the same time, the damage inflicted upon the victim(s) is used to empower the castleÆs effect further, using the blood mist they produce to make the atmosphere even denser and more corrosive.

Kisuke is able to use this same energy directly, gripping it as if it were solid material and shaping it into different forms to both attack his opponents and defend himself. Whilst there is a certain unpredictability to this type of manoeuvre, he will primarily replicate the same techniques that his shikai is able to produce though the scale of effect is greater and more dangerous.

The nature of this bankai makes it impossible to use when his allies are in the same vicinity and is only suitable for when facing an enemy Kisuke has to kill. For this purpose, he created a specialised kido to protect one or more allies from the effects of his bankai to allow them to fight by his side. As the bankai is KisukeÆs ability, only when he is the one performing the kido will it have any effect, making it useless should someone else try to defend against his power with it. Even then the kido doesnÆt grant total immunity and relies on KisukeÆs ability to maintain, making it an extremely dangerous prospect.


Name: Resurreccion: Murcielago, Bat

User: Ulquiorra Cifer

Ability: This is UlquiorraÆs released state that transforms him into a bat-like creature, vaguely reminiscent of certain myths regarding vampires. However the abilities he possesses in this form are ones which best reflect his nihilist nature. In this state, the nature of UlquiorraÆs reiatsu can be considered the incarnation of the concept of ænothingnessÆ; he is able to shape his spiritual energy into weapons that are made to do nothing more than eradicate anything they touch. Both matter and energy are destroyed when coming into contact with this power, being erased from existence as his reiatsu completely deconstructs them. Primarily, Ulquiorra shapes this energy in the form of javelins which he uses either in close combat or to throw as ranged weapon.

This power is also what gave birth to the Cero Oscuras, Dark Zero, which takes on a different appearance and power from other Cero types. This is due to it combing the usual destructive power of an EspadaÆs Cero with the matter-destroying nature of UlquirraÆs reiatsu, making what is arguably the stronger type of Cero in existence and one that only the former king Hueco Mundo can replicate.

Despite how powerful this resurreccÝon sounds (and is), it is still subject to the rules of reiatsu meaning its effectiveness is lessened to some degree against other spiritually powerful beings. At which it æmerelyÆ becomes incredibly lethal rather than completely unstoppable.

Ulquiorra is also the only known arrancar to possess a form known as Segunda Etapa, Second Stage. Despite the change of appearance, this form does not increase the volume of his reiatsu or improve his physical abilities. Instead the only other thing that changes is the nature of reiatsu which reflects the core of UlquiorraÆs identity even further before. The reason he refers to this form as ôTrue Despairö is because his reiatsu becomes able to affect the mentality of all who feel it by inflicting his own nihilism upon them.

His complete disregard for the meaning of life is able to attack the psyche of his opponent, draining away their positive emotions and everything that driving them to fight which results in them giving into despair. The longer they remain in his presence then the more mental trauma is inflicted until they are crushed under the weight of hopeless.


Name: Resurreccion: Ira, Wrath

User: Yammy

Ability: As a being that revelled in war and rage whilst living and devoured souls of the same temperament in death, YammyÆs released state truly reflects his wrathful nature. His body shrinks down until he matches the size of a tall, incredibly muscular man, in contrast to his reiatsu to swells immensely. His masks curves from his mouth to the back of his head, he sprouts two extra pairs of arm from each shoulder, his legs become shaped like a goatÆs and a hammer-ended tail extends from his lower back.

Unlike like other arrancar, when Yammy releases his personality changes along with his physical form; his tone of voice, facial expression and general demeanour all express an extreme sense of calm on the surface. However this is only on the surface as in reality, his anger grows to such a degree that itÆs beyond the comprehension of others whilst becoming extremely focused. Whereas YammyÆs immature attitude would usually be his main weakness regardless of how much power he possess, in this state he becomes truly deserving of the title Cero Espada.

The main ability he possesses in this form is that his reiatsu grows in proportion to how angry he is, resulting in his strength and endurance gaining a continuous boost though his appearance remains the same. Due to his personality, this means that the longer a fight lasts then the more powerful he becomes. The only time this wouldnÆt be the case is if Yammy suffers damage during combat at the rate that surpasses the speed of his anger-induced growth.

Another unusual aspect of YammyÆs resurreccÝon is that it doesnÆt only affect himself but also his hollow dog, Kukkapuuro. The creature had been in his presence ever since he was an adjuchas, feeding off of his reiatsu the entire time which created a unique bond between them. When Yammy releases, Kukkapuuro undergoes his own transformation which significantly increases his size and power whilst his personality becomes like that of a berserker. He will attack everyone in sight bar Yammy and his power increase puts him on par with an Espada.


Name: Chimera Parca: Ayon

User: Sun-Sun, Apache and Mila-Rose

Ability: Ayon is a monstrous creature that HalibelÆs fraccion are able to create by sacrificing their left arms and fusing them together. The three of them arenÆt entirely sure whether their æpetÆ is actually something they create or if he is summoned from someplace deep within Hueco Mundo. Nevertheless, he possesses power on par with an Espada and is willing to fight for their cause.

As a chimera-like being, Ayon is able to shape shift parts of his body into entirely new forms. The simplest use of this ability is when he increases his muscle mass within a certain limb to increase his physical strength, usually to crush a target with as much force as possible. But more than this, he can shape his arms and legs into natural forms of weaponry such as hammers, blades and maces. Grows new limbs and appendages is possible for him so that he can generate wings, tendrils, extra eyes and arm to name a few examples.

He is similar to hollows more than arrancar in the sense that he has no internal organs and appears to be a sentient mass of muscle, blood and flesh. This allows him to continue fighting and pulling himself back together even when he suffers huge amounts of damage. The most idea way to kill him is to completely eradicate his body.

Actually I should note that Pat specifically states that all espada (So long as they are released) can use Cero Obscuras, so it's not a technique unique to him. Though admittedly the only person we almost saw use it other than him was Yammi, but same deal with Gran Rey regardless.

Yammy never used it IIRC; that was just a regular - if really fucking huge - Cero. :mellow:

I'm aware it's meant to be an Espada tech but I decided to take some liberties to make it exclusive. I wasn't really a fan of how it was implemented since Kubo could have easily demonstrated the power difference without another Cero type showing up. Perhaps he was intending to elaborate on its similarties to Ichigo's bankai's Getsuga which I wouldn't have minded, but it never happened in the end.

No, that was the second cero he used, and hilariously also the conclusive proof that he actually has CO and his cero isn't just shaded in for some absurd reason. He actually used CO earlier, against Ichigo no less, when he started charging up a clearly black cero at him.

Mind you he didn't get to finish, but Yammi definitely has it. :snigger:

I will agree though, CO is entirely useless to the plot and honestly the plot would have been far better served were it just a Gran Rey, since that was already the espada exclusive tech. You could remove it entirely and replace it and nothing would really change honestly. :mellow:
