I see Loki restarting the world, pissing off the Angels, something he would enjoy, and uses Shinji's social life as his entertainment, all the while mainuplating him into stopping third impact.

And Shinji taking Lenneth's place is just...no. No no no. I like Lenneth too much for that. Now if Lenneth (when you mention Valkyrie and Loki I'm thinking of the game Valkyrie Profile so if you're not then nevermind...) were to wind up hunting for warrior souls during the events of Evangelion, and for whatever reason decided Shinji would make a good one; that would interest me. Gotta train them all up in the game, so the fic could feature whatever changes you wanted taking place as Valkyrie undertakes the monumental task of forging a spine for Shinji.
Not too sure how that would fit with the basic premise, but it's what popped into my head and demanded I type.

To remedy this, a Norse god (Hermod the messenger god if I remember correctly) is ordered to select a new Valkyrie to defend humanity - his method for doing this is to disguise himself as a videotape of a new magical girl anime and ambush and essentially draft the first viewer of the videotape to the job. I read the webcomic for some time, but at some point (last year I think) the authoress took a lengthy hiatus, during which I lost interest in the comic. When the authoress returned and started work again, I took a disliking to the direction in which the series was heading and jumped ship - possibly permanently. The comic has more than a handful of good points in it however, and the basic plot has some promise to it. Shinji becoming a woman in order to fight the Angels as a Valkyire shortly before heading to Tokyo-3 sounds like a possible winner.
Right, well my whole post is just OT goobldegook then, and ignore it as such (unless you're keen on what I postulated, in which case start writing already!)
The idea of that webcomic is kinda amusing though and the thought of applying something that messed up to NGE (which is a different breed of messed up) makes me wanna giggle.

Yeah, half of the reason I stopped reading SGVY was after Yuuki started developing apparant romantic feelings for a male classmate - transgender fun is alright in itself, but you don't see Ranma hitting on Ryouga or Kuno or Happosai, do you? If SGVY's authoress decides to ditch the Yuuki/dude pairing and go back to the Yuuki/chickwhosnameIforget pairing that things seemed to be building up towards at first, I might start reading it again.
Back to the transgender Shinji idea, Shinji's attempt to explain his predicament alone would be worth a oneshot. Gendo: "Correct me if I'm wrong... but didn't I have a son?" Shinji: "That's a funny story... erm, you see... have you ever heard of Loki?"
Which for some reason brings about another idea: NGE/The Mask crossover. Yes, Mask Keitaro is all good and fun (and when's that fic coming out anyway?), but just imagine wtf would happen if Shinji were to put the Mask on while, say, piloting an Eva?
