Demon Lord Adell

In Disgaea 2 one of the various non-standard endings is earned by defeating Etna when she first appears earning Adell the new title "Demon Lord." In game he is understandably confused and a little upset by this because as far as he knows he is completely human and the majority of his confidence in his inevitable victory over Zenon is based on the fact that he is the only human unaffected by Zenon's curse.

There are several things I could see happening here, but not necessarily all of them:
- Adell having a BSOD
- Etna following Adell home for a short time
- Rozalin eventually giving Adell a good swift kick in the pants (or a Bright Slap) followed by a "What have I done!?" moment.
- "Dad" remembering about Adell's parents in time to actually tell Adell
- Adell becoming an Overlord after Zenon's defeat
- Some more serious exploration of what it means to be human

and I'm sure there's even more. Would like to here some ideas from others too. And maybe some snippets if somebody thinks they can write it. I've not got enough confidence in myself as a writer to even make an attempt at writing a Disgaea fic because I'd have to strip out all the Meta and then it's not really Disgaea anymore is it?

Of course, this all dependsn if your also going to include elements like defeat-recruit characters, including the DLC ones from the PSP remake. Also, Adell at this point is likely near level 800 or so to defeat Etna in single combat.However, if the Yukimaru stuff still happens, I can definitely see Adell taking on Laharl and doing some decent damage. also, would Etna still join the party? Would she do so earlier, and more powered? Or like canon, giving them a fake demon lord nail.

Would Hanako and Taro still have faith in Adell? Would Adell take on Fake Zenon himself if he's strong enough to take down Etna? would the Prinny squad go over to the more powerful side? And what's Rozalins thoughts on the whole process, after all, if it wasn't for her, Adell wouldn't be in this situation.

It's a lot easier than you'd think. I got to some ridiculous levels in my first play through just because I obsessed over the item world.

Assuming your not going the boring way (which, story line wise, I can see Etna getting out of), then Adell will still need to be very high leveled (and/or have a lot of reincarnations) to beat Etna.

It's a lot easier than you'd think. I got to some ridiculous levels in my first play through just because I obsessed over the item world.

Same for me in the original, only got a second loop when I perposely lost to Mid-boss to unlock a certain cute-mute. In D2 found the item world too boring and repetiative. Didn't help that they got rid of the music options for it or that I had the PS2 version.

I'd like to see some more of this, not enough Disgaea fiction IMHO.

Well, in 2 there's the kitty-cats trick, so reaching max level inside of 30 hours is totally doable.

Why wouldn't Hanako and Taro have faith in him? They never shown any dislike of demons or being demons. Etna might go with them, especially since they still need to find Zenon and would probably accidentally summon her. Rozalin might be a bit confused at first but wouldn't feel bad until later on (and probably more confused at Adell's depression).

Would gaining the title of Demon Lord even send Adell into a depression, I mean sure hes got a stupid title now, and he might be a little shocked, but his promises are way more important to him than a stupid title such as demon lord. I mean wasn't the reason that Adell fell into a depression after Etna beat him more because he might have broken his promise to his family to comeback home safely rather than him losing? Also I think Taro and Hanako actually prefer being demons as opposed to humans, and besides that they would probably just tease him about it as opposed to losing their trust in him, they are a part of his family and they love him no matter what title he has in fact the only thing that would stop that love is shown in the worst ending,

And that is the Ending where Adell is possessed by Zenon and eats them alive.

But aside from that, and Etna joining the group earlier, I can't see much about Adell changing, however if Etna joined the group earlier, I could see somethings changing since there is a very important event that only happens because Etna is drained of her levels and forces herself into their group.

Shin-ra tower, right? Somehow if Adell is that level, and Etna is too, I think the final battle there would change immensely. For one, I think Laharl would start laughing at Etna for having been beaten in battle.

And I was more basing the whole "Lose faith" thing on that the fact that Adell isn't some special human who resists the curse, he's just a demon.
