I have no idea how I'd actually title this and the other crossover thread was over two years old, so...I'll put it here.
I've had an idea involving Shinji Ikari from Evangelion getting a partner of his own and saving Tokyo-3 from Daemon, the Demon Lord. I picked Daemon because he's the opposite to Seraphimon, who represents hope, which makes him both Wrath and despair and those two things pretty much run the Evangelion world.
The other pilots would get partners of their own over the course of the story.
Shinji's partner would be Dorumon, following both of his more famous evolution lines. Giant purple dragon monster (Dexmon) or holy knight (Alphamon) fits Shinji's habit of saving the world one moment and helping to blow it up the next.
Asuka's partner would be Biyomon, who would eventually end up becoming Zhuqiaomon. Gigantic four-eyed firey monster suits her personality, especially since they're both jerks.
Ayanami Rei would get both Gatomon and BlackGatomon, who'd turn into Angewomon and LadyDevimon and from there either become both Ophanimon and Lilithmon or they'd fuse together into that new monster Mastemon. Considering Rei is also a being that was actually split into multiple creatures it suits her...plus, you know, she *is* Lilith.
