Digimon: Godfall has updated recently. Just found out after browsing the Digimon section.

And holy fuck Sonfaro is using him as the villain's final form? That is a blast from the past.

So what is this about? Can you give me a short description before I dare try it?

It takes place in Adventure verse, after the defeat of BelialVamdemon, but long before the "distant finale".

The Real and Digital Worlds are growing closer, and naturally this leads to humans becoming interested in the Digital World. The Chosen Children, in particular the Original Eight are looked at as authority figures by the Digimon populace.

As a result the conflict between human and Digimon interests has started to become a social issue that Taichi and the rest are stuck in the middle of.

Here is the description to avoid any more possible spoilers.

When human researchers disappear in the deserts of Server, the Digiworlds finest are called upon to investigate. What they find however, may test the bonds between courage and friendship, and usher in an evil that had been silent for far too long.
It takes place in a universe separate but similar to this author's "Anniversary" series.

Of note is that both take elements from other Digimon series and blend them into the Adventure Universe. Digimon Anniversary: Memoirs of Victory the other one of his works I look forward to seeing updated has Taichi from Adventure as the same Taichi from V Tamer. After years without contact Sigma summons Taichi for help and Sora and Yamato tag along without his permission.

While both are good at incorporating various elements from the Digimon Franchise, some of the attempts are a little to much of a stretch and stand out a bit.

A human lifepsan is an adventure, but much like the adventures in the digital world, they end. What becomes of a digimon left behind?

Complete. Everyone I've shown this to agree's it's amazing, and Ryuugi said it was the best Digimon fic he's read this year (not that that's stiff competition.), but word of warning.

It will bring the feels.

On a not as good, but less depressing note.

The Teacher of All Things
That time in summer camp wasn't the first time Tai went to the Digital World. How different would things be if a more experienced and jaded Tai was sucked into the Digital World?

This turned out much better then I was expecting (Was worried it would be a: Taichi does everything and no one else matters fic. And then everyone was awesome.), and I like that he's going to use Daisuke's Development from the crossover, but I'm having trouble figuring out how he's going to get the 02 kids to measure up.

It helps that he held off on Takeru and Hikari's Ultimates, opens possibilities.

Though I'm really annoyed he transferred dub names over to V-Tamer, which never used them, as it was fan translated.

Salva Nos
In the year 2000, something went wrong and changed history as we know it. 15 years later, Takeru and Daisuke must search for a way to fix things.

This has, after years of hiatus, started updating again, now with Savers characters. It's been so long I myself need to reread it at some point.

Word of warning what I remember of it is really grim and sad, but it's ultimately a story of hope. In more then one way.

Phantom Typewriter's Digital Hazard series is a retelling of 01 and 02 where things went VERY VERY WRONG on file island, and everyone got fucked over because of it, it's rather dark, and I dislike using Takeru the way he was, along with a few of the world building portions which irk me, but otherwise, given it's competition, it's great.

Also, he took away digimon reformatting, so keep that in mind.

The Bee and its Stinger
A speeding car crashes into a pole. An innocent bystander who should have died is spared. Two brothers reconcile - but while that unhappy story looks happier, the Dark Seed is still planted and an evil force is still looking for a way back. That window of opportunity has closed - and so he'll smash a hole through the wall instead.

Osamu survives, and everything get's fucked over. Is complete and has a sequel currently being written. Fly on a wall

In the past months, I've added a lot of Digimon fics to my Fav's list that I've had an above average opinion on, a few grated in a few ways, but so far not badly enough I've removed them, I tried to clean out some of the stuff I didn't like anymore out of it, but if anyone wants to browse it, AarikWrath.

Tentatively give a go for Binary and Dreaming to Reality, in this post I tried to only rec things that were complete or still being written for decently recently.

The Teacher of All Things updated. And it's the end of the "Adventure" as it were.

Has No Girls Allowed been recced yet? Because I frigging love that fic.

Summary:

Jun keeps popping up in the most unexpected places. Tai is not pleased, especially when it gives his friends the wrong impression. Agumon's obsession with Plato and BlackWarGreymon isn't helping things. The media keeps misrepresenting Digimon as an alien invasion. His Lit teacher likes to steal his haikus. Yeah, Tai's first year of high school sucks. AU. S2 time-line and events.
It starts off kind of slow and being predominantly "unlikely friendship/teen drama," but then the action kicks in later, with fairly consistent humour throughout.

And if that's not enough to convince you, a quote from the most recent chapter:

"Tch, what are you foolish humans talking about?" Tai scoffed at them, crossing his arms over his chest. "I've merely taken on this mortal form while I reside on your plane of existence so as not to blind you all with my sheer, magnanimous radiance!"
