Digimon Digimon Fics You'd Like To Destroy

Because I love Digimon and I love the Digimon fandom, but...let's face it guys. There are a lot of really, really bad fics. And since this is a fanfiction forum, in addition to recommending good fics, I think it makes sense to also ward people away from awful ones.

And this is the place for the awful ones. Not just the run of the mill 'Suddenly, Taichi and Yamato are banging with no explanation' or the usual poor grammar--those are great reasons to hate a fic, but anyone on this site has probably been around the block enough times to see the signs of the usual reasons to bail out. This is for the fics that go above and beyond the usual limits of badness or stupidity.

Note: If possible, explain why you feel said fic is so bad.

I'll go first.

Let's start with the biggest one. The fic with the most favorites in the entirety of the Digimon Fandom--not the most reviews, because review count can be based on a lot of things (Chapter count, for example) unrelated to quality. But a Favorited fic is generally one that people like (or else, want to follow for whatever reason--it's on mine, so I never forget it's real), so this fic is supposedly the most liked fic in the fandom.

I fucking hate it. I despise every aspect of it. I could rip into it so much that....that's exactly what I'm going to do!

Those of you who've spent significant time around the Naruto fandom may recall the fic 'Black Flames Dance In The Wind: Rise of Naruto.' Long story short, it's fucking horrible, but this isn't the place to tell you why--I'm just bringing it up because it's author, DevilKeys Writing, also wrote this fic, Tamer of the Hazard.

For the sake of fairness, I'll be going with the revised version of the fic--the first on was horrible, but DW noticed that, apparently, and tried to correct it. Fair enough; everyone writers bad fics. I permanently deleted all traces of some of my earlier fics out of pure shame. So I'll only look at the new version.

It's main character is, as you probably guessed by the title, Takato. I say by the title, because you might not be able to tell from the summary:

Takato had always prided himself on being unique. But there comes point where being "one of a kind" is more trouble than it's worth. 3 partners, a cool tattoo and strange abilities? Awesome. Being stalked by evil digimon, hearing murderous voices in your head, and dealing with a temperamental redhead who'd like nothing more than to see you buried in a shallow grave? Not so much.
...

So yeah, I'm going to have to go deep to pick this pile of crap apart, which I will. But as quite possibly the pinnacle of badness in the fandom, I can't do this in one sitting. I'll get to it when I get a chance, but for now...I must prepare myself.

Also, I have a question: Do you guys just want a summary of the bad parts? Or do you want to watch me suffer through and MST of this crap?

(Also, post the worst of the worst that you guys can find.)

Compared to most of the stuff in the digimon fandom I thought Tamer of The Hazard to be mediocre. It banked too much on failed Rule of Cool and Rule of Funny.

I can't even remember the number of times I've run across it, so I can't give you individual story titles but there's one particular plot that I've come to despise.

It's not DaiKen kaiser-shipping, though I would gladly see the yaoi burned.

It's "The digi-destined hate Daisuke, and all rail on him while he's listening just outside the door." I mean, holy hell, I get that they're all tween and preteens so they get a pass on some immaturity but it seems that the authors who use this plot point practically infantalize the entire group while lionizing Daisuke.

I've seen a number of those, too--but you know what's even worse? It's not just 02. There are a bunch of fics about the Adventure team turning on Taichi after Skullgreymon and a boatload of fics where the group--especially, God, Juri--turn on Takato after Megidramon. I don't know if the other seasons have equivalents.

Then you may not like some of the stories by Neverwhere Chaos Mode, specifically Lost and The Absent Years.

Juri does exactly what you mentioned but nobody speaks up against it. Not that they agree with her, it's shellshock more than anything else but at the same time, Takato embraces Megidramon's strength. At least a little.

I actually liked it a great deal--though it's been years since I read it and I'm not sure how it holds up--except for that one part. The rest of the story was great, it's just that enormously out of character moment that, well, pretty much got forgotten afterwards.

without naming any fic, the trend of Season X being so much grimdark/Awesome/powerful than Y so i must crossover the characters so i can show how stupid/weak Season Y is...
and that is considering how weird the end of 02 was for me.

I kinda thought all the seasons (Up to frontier at least. I can't weigh in on Savers) were pretty grim-dark. If not in what they showed, then definitely in the implications. Mind-control, time travel, city wrecking monsters. That's just the digi-destined verse.
Factor in Omni-mon and they certainly weren't hurting for power.

I guess the fics you're talking about are mostly just the authors trying (Poorly) to justify why their characters are more powerful than they should be.

yep, for me all seasons were, well high up ther on the WOW and Awesome (at least those i have seen or read AKA V-Tamer 01-04) with V-Tamer being the most Awesome of all.
but then you have fics like:
Many Destinies in One » by FusaoKairi
When some of the digidestined and tamers old enemies come looking for revenge. They all team up to defeat their old foes, and make some new relationships along the way. However the others soon discover that the Legendary Warriors digital world is far worse than anything they have ever dealt with and that the dimensional ties are more fragile than they thought... seasons 2-4 X-over
Rated: T - English - Adventure - Size: 22/108,734 - Reviews: 100 - ♡60 ☆37 - Updated: 4 days ago (weekly) - Published: 10/29/2012 - Takuya K. Taichi Y./Tai K.
maybe the later chapters are good, but the first ones are basically: we are the badass badical Ancient Warriors who don't need to 'cheerlead' a partner, we fight our own battles and we are better than you guys, aslo our big bad bitchlaps yours so our world made us more awesome...

Frontier was overpowered compared to the first three seasons though. The Frontier royal knights put Adventure Omnimon and Imperialdramon Paladin Mode to shame and Emperorgreymon and Mangnagarurumon beat them one on one. Then you have Lucemon...
Emperorgremon or Magnagarurumon could easily solo the Adventure verse including Omnimon, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, and Armageddemon.

I also do agree with the whole cheerleading criticism for Adventure now. Aside from Izzy with his tech-geek abilities, the other kids were pretty much glorified evolution catalysts. Compare this to other series, most notably V-Tamer and Xros Wars, where the kids were actually useful battle tacticians.
